First time they painted 3 bedrooms. While they were slow, they did a good job and quite honestly, it was important to.me to do business with a black-owned company The initial job was good enough that we hired them to do a larger project. The second tome around, the quality of work was not the same. They did not arrive at the expected times, were again SLOW and clearly had over booked and over extended themselves. (Was told that the project would be completed in two days, it took 4!!!). They DO NOT want to perp the walls. (It's not within their scope!!) ‍ I'm literally sitting here with family, looked up to see this! Sadly...there are many, many other examples. Unfortunately, they were paid in full. Should you decide to do business with them, be mindful and do a THOROUGH check before paying them. Now, we will have to complete the job ourselves or pay someone to finish. Dawu and team did a great job painting the exterior of my house. He delivered professionally across the full scope of work from initial consult to final walk through. They did a great job prepping the brick, siding, and trim around the house. There were a few places that needed unexpected wood repair work that were handled professionally at a fair price. Dawu also made creative color recommendations for the siding, trim, shutters, and front/garage doors that turned out beautifully. The job was completed as planned even though parts of the the siding needed a third/fourth coat. My wife and I are delighted with the end result and the final price. I used the paintsmiths 6 years ago to paint the outside of my home.,and to repair and replace woodwork to the porch. They were to complete the job in 10days. It took 28 days for them to finish and a whole lot of begging them to start work and not leave after 3 hrs. There were a lot of different people showing up for him like every 2 days or so not compleleting adays work. The materials they use were cheap (eventhouhg they were included in the estimate)weren't quality supplies purchase ,except for the paint. The wood wasn't pretreatment wood or even new wood I learned after wards due to the peeling and rough plintered over painted to cover it up. Dawn came multiple times and saw what his crew was doing and hadn't done...but didn't correct all the mess up. Unfortunately I paid the balance with him saying he would finish cleaning up the wood replacement issues. But he didn't. So disappointed . You live and learn..and I just had some more work done on that very porch aweek ago behind that ordeal that came to light. Now I will make sure to look at all receipts ,especially when it's coming out of my pocket. Got to make sure you get what they charge you for to the job you're paying to have done. I was on the fence to write this review, but felt compelled to warn anyone who maybe concerning this company. All I can say... Never again... our interaction began on 5/16/20 and we signed the agreement around 5/20/20. The owner stopped by to collect half of what we agreed to within a day or two, but after three days or so we had to contact the owner to find out when he planned to start the job since he did not arrived as promised. It took him forever to complete the exterior paint job... approximately, 30 days to paint our home which the side of the house is brick and warranted no attention other than the trim. Okay 19 days I'll give it since some days it rained. Most times he did not have the same sub-contractors working on our home. At times the subcontractors would arrive before the owner which was around noon. Question: Who starts an outside job in the middle of the day in the month of June in the south? What I noticed after the fact, some areas could have used a second coat of paint, paint splashed on our windows, painted dripped on our freshly painted deck. Just a messy. As a professional he should have suggested areas where wood should have been replaced instead of covering areas with heavy paint and now after a few months the wood has being to peel. Not the perfectionists he claims to be. I am only giving this company a one star rating due to lack there if time maintenance, lack of communication and messy. But he was a very nice guy. read more

Dawu and his team painted our entire home (walls, trim, ceilings) and repainted our old cabinets in the kitchen. The project was delayed because of unexpected health concerns but Dawu did everything he could to get other team members out and keep the project rolling. We were nervous that spots and drips would stay on the cabinets but Dawu worked personally to make sure everything was as perfect as can be before completing the job. He even offered to come back for touchups if we find issues later since we are just now moving in. Their price quote was better than other painters AND like other reviewers mentioned he threw in extra services we hadn't initially quoted. Definitely recommend this team! read more
