The owner and his wife seem like a lovely couple. He's pretty passionate about his coffee and will give everybody a run down of the type of coffee you will order. Listen to it, he loves it, you should love it! On top of the coffee, there is a bit of pastries and sandwiches to choose from. I didn't partake in any food but got a latte. They let you choose the damn mug you get your drink in, how awesome is that? They have a lot of options and obviously I chose the one with a lot of random heart colours on it. In no time they got me my coffee and put some nice coffee art into it. The area isn't to large but not to small either. They do explain it's a shared space for when it gets busy so they hope you don't take up 5 chairs by 2 people. It's decorated either like a blast from old Europe or your grandparents place if they were a bit fancier. We spent some time here and had multiple drinks. I had to wait for cars to pass to get out of my car. There is just not much room on this street. The cafe is cute, I got a latte and some treats. The Whoppie pie cookie was so good as was my coffee. They said that when the weather is better there is seating outside. There was not seating inside. They did have some savories as well, which I would love to go back and try.

Today I asked the staff when the pastries on display were made, and they seemed to be confused at first, and then they had to admit that the pastries weren't prepared today. I ended up not buying them at all to not the risk of eating spoiled food. They told me that they also have fresh ones but why do they charge fresh and stale pastry for the same price then?! The drinks are mediocre. For instance, they charge almost 8 dollars for a small seasonal drink. It's not even good at all, as if tasteless. The overall atmosphere isn't welcoming due to the constant smell of burning, unfriendly stuff, and some of the kitchenware seems to be not cleaned well, for instance, the toaster, there is a lot of soot on it that constantly burns. The stuff isn't suitable for working in hospitality. They seem to not be interested in what they're doing, and that's why they do it badly and don't put much effort. That is what happens when the owner hires students for whom working in a cafe isn't a profession but just a side hassle. Also, their appearance wasn't nice. By saying that I mean their clothes didn't look neat and tidy, and their hair was uncombed and loose. To sum up, Red Door Provisions is just another overrated cafe that might make an impression of a cute and cozy place with delicious drinks and pastries at first but it turns out to be even worse than mediocre. I'm not a coffee connoisseur but I thought the Lilly was very good, sweet but not too heavy or sugary, but it was a little bit expensive for the price as the cup was fairly small.
