Almond chocolates
Jeannie C.

Really great variety of chocolates and candy. We walked by, and the sweet smell lured us in. We purchased almond chocolates, which were really good along with nonpareils that were excellent. Some salt water taffy added a sweet twist to my palette. Although we enjoyed the chocolates and taffy, we couldn't ge over the price. We paid $13.95 for 1/2 pound of chocolate. Even though we had a sweet time, we sure did pay the price.

Really nice fudge shop, with loads of other sweet goodies. In the back they serve Edy's ice cream, a little unusual, as there are several other local ice cream joints, which -- just like this shop -- were packed on a June Sunday. They're efficient and move the line quickly. The fudge was delicious!

Coming to places like the Fudge Shoppe instantly bring you back to those childhood memories where you are down the shore and absolutely have to indulge in a piece of sweet, decadent fudge. Fudge is being prepared around the clock, is fresh, and stacks in mounds. There are all sorts of flavors ranging from vanillas, nuts, and classic options and the staff is super friendly and have that old school vintage candy shoppe demeanor. While you may think a couple of pounds of fudge will set you back, the prices were surprisingly cheap and there were a lot of offers where if you bought a certain amount you were gifted with some complementary gifts. They also have salt water taffy and other candies for those looking to bring home some souvenirs.

What an adorable little shop full of delectable treasures. Friends who grew up coming to this store brought us here. So much candy! So much fudge! There's even plenty of sugar free options! I walked out with some treasures. Please know that this store is extremely small and most likely crowded. So if you don't like small places and/or lots of people, this may not be the place for you.

This is a candy store with a few locations along the Jersey Shore. Despite the name, they offer much more than fudge. They have gummy candies, pretzels, small chocolate bites (ie Godiva style), salt water taffy, and even sugar free candy. However, the hand made fudge is what they are known for. I had a variety box with several flavors. They actually have over 15 different flavors, with vanilla and chocolate serving as the base fudge for most of the flavors. Some of the more interesting flavors (more like fillings) are cookies n cream, pistachio, coconut, Snickers, and rocky road. My favorites of the ones I had were the chocolate chip, pistachio and the peanut butter. I felt that these were easily the tastiest and best combinations. The base fudge itself I was not a big fan of, as some of the pieces I ate had an old taste to them. It was the ones with fillings or add ins that made the taste stand out.

I have no f*cking clue what in the world I was doing at Original Fudge. But sh*t got a bit primal while I was here....so please, bear with me. Aside from all the seafood you see left and right in Cape May, they also have lots of Sweets but most of all- Fudge! And that's where I come in. Located right in the Washington Street Mall, Original Fudge Kitchen has a bit of an old-timey feel. Place is kind of small but these guys have a good handle on their merchandise. Different types of Fudge behind their glass window, followed by trays of Turtle candies, Cookies, etc. Next with a variety of nuts, Gummy candies, plus other items. Everywhere else you looked, there was more stuff. Loved the sweet smell the second I walked in and can't beat Original's thick slabs of Fudge. My Mom likes the jelly fruit slices- so got her 1/4lb. Also got Dark Chocolate Almond Bark, Mixed Nuts, Chocolate covered Pretzels (that were actually fresh and crunchy) and the shining star of them all......Fudge. I brought home 4 kinds in Salt Caramel, Cookies & Cream, Plain Chocolate and the the best out of all of them- Chocolate Fudge with Dark Chocolate Chips- which was insane and wished I brought a few more blocks! It's a tourist spot and prices are a bit off the scale- but I almost expected them to be- since it's located in Cape May. Service was good. Mumsy's Gummies were boxed and each of my items were individually bagged- without me requesting them to be. I'm sure these folks pride themselves in their "original" recipes, but out of all the Fudge I bought, the Dark Chocolate with Chocolate Chips ruled. All others, had a hint of what they're supposed to be- and that's it. But Original Fudge Kitchen, was good for a last minute visit.

The last stop in Cape May we did and it was a sweet one ! I felt like a kid going into this store! I love fudge ! They had sooo many varieties but I had to limit myself. I posted a reel showing you 2 of the flavors we chose. We actually choose 4 original chocolate fudge, peanut butter, chocolate marshmallow and vanilla fudge. I'm still trying to get the hang of doing reels so I couldn't fit all 4 flavors. The owners were super nice, I asked them how long the process too from start to finish and amazingly he said only 24 hrs. I also got salt water taffy ! They gave me a coupon that doesn't expire which I'll be definitely using on my next visit! It wasn't until after we left a local had started a conversation w us about places to try and she had recommended this store's ice cream!!! Til next time! #tastebudadventures #sweetsarelife #fudgeislife #sogoodsolight #sorich #chocolate #peanutbutter #vanilla #chocolatemarshmallow

The best fudge at the shore. You can have samples at the front of the store, usually the chocolate, chocolate walnut, vanilla walnut. 4 squares weigh over half pound. Every flavors is really good. It's very hard to pick. Chocolate is really rich, pistachio is amazing too. You might end up buying a lot there. The best way to consume it is right say when its still soft, otherwise it will get harder. The saltwater taffee is really good too. You can buy in half pound, one pound, or two pound box. Or you can buy your favorite flavors and buy it by the pound. There are truffle, chocolate covered pretzels, and other candies.

But I did sample it so why are you thanking me..

Not that great. I didn't like the chocolate. And the vanilla was way too sweet and sticky. Service was ok.
