After a fantastic meal nearby on our first night in Cape May in late July we were hot & this gelato completely hit the spot! We came back multiple times during the week. Decently priced ice cream/gelato especially compared to other places in Cape May. It was busy when my family when it and there was only 1 person working but she was super friendly and patient. There was dairy free gelato which was great for my wife and sister. I had the melon gelato and my wife had lemon. IT WAS SO GOOD! It's about $6 for a small but it's a good size. It's hard to find as it's at the end of a busy shopping mall but it's worth it! read more

There were two women behind the counter. One younger and sweet. And one older and kind of mean. My mother-in-law asked for a third taste of a gelato. She snarked "oh you're trying all the flavors." She made another rude comment to my brother-in-law. But the icing off the cake was when I remarked that it was a lot of gelato that (the younger( clerk had put on my eight-year-old son's cone. The older clerk took the cone from her and removed some of the gelato and put it back. In front of him. And she scolded the younger clerk. Ew. read more

Ok, this is a small gelato and creperie in Cape May. The owner makes the gelato fresh daily. This is SUPER good gelato, like the gelato I've had in Italy. Skip the chain ice cream on the mall and walk down to Cione. I had strawberry, chocolate, and cappuccino. All were delicious. Came here tonight 08-20-20 for some gelato during the COVID crisis. I had a small peanut butter gelato. It was delicious. My only criticism is that you can't leave a tip when using your card. The poor teenage girl was working hard by herself. I apologized for not being able to tip her and explained she was loosing a lot of money. I sat outside to Eat my gelato as the line got long. About 80% of the customers were using a card to pay. Come on guys, can't we figure out a way to leave a tip when charging. Poor kid is loosing all kinds of $$$. read more

Despite the place having a name which is a play on the word 'cone' can you actually get your gelato in a cone? Nope. I do not care for gelato in a paper cup eaten with a tiny plastic spoon. This place is great! It is a small Italian gelato shop in Cape May. It is a great alternative to ice cream, not only is it tastier, but it is more healthy. My family and I have been there a few times and we have never been disappointed. They have a good assortment of flavors, my favorite is the strawberry! Small little gelato house in a group of stores. When we visited they had 14 different flavors. I settled for a small lemon and a peanut butter fudge milkshake. The lemon was definitely of true Italian consistency. And the peanut butter milkshake was nice. It wasn't too strong or over bearing. Their prices were about average for the area. This is the place to go for gelato in Cape May. Absolutely delicious. I have to come back every year, it's just so good. There are a lot of ice cream places in the area, but why get ice cream from some chain, when you can have fresh made gelato? Aside from the gelato itself (and how scrumdiliumptious it is) the prices are decent. And the staff there is always incredibly nice and polite. Authentic gelato! A nice change from the usual ice cream place. A small will set you back $5, and a large $6. You can do half one flavor and half another. I did half vanilla and half salted caramel. Should have got the cappuccino instead of the caramel, it had that weird twang that caramel desserts sometimes get when they are too strong and it wasn't the greatest. However the vanilla was very good and my mom liked the chocolate a lot. They home-make their cones too. Maybe more of a 3.5-star place but it was still good, and definitely a different option than the gazillion ice cream places in Cape May. read more

This place is a hidden Cape May gem. We've eaten a lot of gelato around the country and this ranks right up there in the top 3. Their consistency and flavors are wonderful. Great gelato... Especially the dark chocolate and pistachio. HOWEVER..... Good luck getting it! I have no idea what the hours are of this place. I've showed up at 11am when Google says they are open, they are closed. Can't figure out when they close at night, or why they are closed on random days. No hours posted in the window of the store, thier phone number doesn't work, no hours listed on Facebook, thier website seems to be corrupted. I hate giving my money to the chain froyo place next door, but if you're not open then I can't patronize your store! Also, gelato flavors are not consistent- they don't always stock pistachio for example. Wish they would post daily flavors on FB or have a working phone number so you could check before you waste your time on a trip into downtown. read more

My favorite is frutti di bosco (and it now comes on a cone for the hater in the old review). Tip: a medium is $1 more than a small and they will split the flavors in a cup making it perfect for sharing and a total bargain AND you can take advantage of the free 30 minutes of parking at the Acme lot. read more

Creamy, all natural, and having less fat than ice cream, you'll probably end up coming here again and again. I can't believe I've missed this spot for all the years it's been around. We make a point to get different ice cream daily during our Cape May stays, but this one eluded us, tucked into the shopping center by ACME. The gelato and sorbet here is NEXT LEVEL. Absolutely divine flavors including some novel ones like dark chocolate which looks black, made from a deep and pure Belgian chocolate with a rich taste. Just awesome. If you've ever been to Italy, you know that the gelato is magical. But if you're like me and you want to find a similar experience here in the states, you've been disappointed. It's just not quite as good here for reasons you can't quite put your finger on. Not so at Cione. The gelato is sick! Oh my goodness, best I've had in the states, and believe me, I've tried to recapture the magic at many other places. To top if off, Fabio is a cool cat, and will gladly talk Italian football if you catch him on a break (he is Inter Milan). Make the effort to find this place. Ok. I rarely leave a bad review. I stopped here this evening after reading so many great reviews, and was dying to try this place. My wife and I had 3 totally different flavors. The coconut was ok, at best, the regular chocolate was tasteless and the dark chocolate was like soup. The young lady serving was extremely pleasant and very nice. But definitely can't understand the high ratings. The gelato was mediocre at best. read more
