They make excellent homemade pies right in the kitchen at this "pick your own apples farm." Quantities are limited so I suggest you call ahead to make sure they will save one for you! They have their own honey bees that pollinate the apple groves. They don't sell honey comb, however, they do have their farms honey. The farm has more then 6000 apple and peach trees that produce varies varieties of apples and peaches. They have all types of jams, jellies, dried apples, honey, apple and turnovers, and apple cider. They have dressings, German apple cake, and preserves. This is a fun family outing for the day to pick your own apples! September 10-11 is the annual apple butter festival. The Top of Texas Farms in Idalou, Tx was a fun stop. We were visiting Lubbock and a friend of ours told us that we should check out the "Apple Farm" in Idalou. When we arrived they had just opened for the day. We enjoyed looking around the various products they had to offer and purchased some bagged apples they had previously picked. The lady helping us said they do family events and also sell their apples, peaches and cherries at the Farmers Market in Lubbock. read more

This is a great fun thing to do with the family. They have rows and rows of various apple tree varieties. You get a basket and fill it up to your heart's content. They have a great selection of apple themed foods in their gift shop and a nice little dining area to eat lunch. It's just a short drive from Lubbock too and it's a great idea for something different to do on a date. read more

Please adjust your business hours to reflect when you are truly open for out of town travelers. Have stopped three times within the hours listed and you are always closed. And, if someone who has stopped three times arrives 5 minutes late but still catches you waiting on someone, instead of saying we're closed, I don't know. Maybe sell them an apple or two? Maybe a jar of pickles? Being that you are closing an hour early according to the times posted and have heard how many times we have stopped? Oh well. Last time for this family to stop.... read more

This is seriously the cutest and coolest place I have ever been! I was probably way too ecstatic about going apple picking with my best friend, but I didn't care! My best friend came to visit me in Lubbock and I was pretty new to the area at the time, so we were looking for things to do. This orchard popped up on a places to visit list, so we headed out here. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately by an older gentleman, who was super sweet and just as excited as I was! I will never forget what he told me, since it made me chuckle. He said, "You must eat some apples during your pickings or you're not doing it correctly!" There were so many different types of apples and a variety of apple sizes! We even had a little wagon to put our apples in! After about two hours (or more, I lost track of time) we finally went to purchase our apples (by weight) and it was cheaper than I expected for fresh off the tree apples! Inside the little shop, there were also souvenirs, jams, jelly, and honey for sale. I would absolutely return to the orchard and it would even be a fun date place! read more

Just to clarify on Bike Parking: It's safe outside, while you're buying snacks. You'll probably have to lean it on the wall of the building-- but most importantly, the staff is biker friendly. I went about 20+ miles out, on a bike ride, and I chose to stop here for a snack. I greatly appreciated the owner and associate's hospitality. To accommodate my traveling situation, the owner was courteous enough to grab me a zip-lock baggy. Their apple pastries are far better than a majority of competing brands. You can really notice the better quality. I noticed that they also sell jams and pies. I'm very optimistic that they are equally delicious. I'll have to try them, next time I come in. read more
