Low prices and very high quality and high level chefs. Earlier tonight I had a 6 ounce burger with cheese, chips and a large coke, but the coke was free because of a deal! This shows how great the deals are as most pubs/restaurants charge £1.50 - £2 for a large cola, and that is just one of the great offers. I advise people to go their on Tuesday, as you can have your meal, but have a free pudding of your liking. One other thing is that it is very friendly and welcoming, as the waiters often ask you how your meal is and the bar is separated from the dining area, so you can take your children if you please. My final part is the menu, and how much there is too choose from. Ribs, burgers, chicken, tortillas and a few veggie/vegan options. Before I never really noticed this place, but I went there once and once turned to twice and so on! From now I am definitely coming here a lot more, as it is just great!!!

The Red Lion was closed this evening with immediate effect…read more We were told by the owners John and Barbera this evening by text that the Red Lion was closed with immediate effect. I'm sure that while everyone is sad that this has happened, we are relieved that the New Broom Checkley is now being well managed by Phil and Nicky with a great atmosphere, food and wide range of beers and lagers! We can only hope that a future new owner , whenever they appear, will be able to restore the Red Lion to its previous position as a well loved local village hub pub.

Secondly, the price. The Old Brown Jug is a bit more expensive than you're average pub. I view it as a place I go to as a treat or as a one off rather than a regular place otherwise you would just be skint all the time. One thing which does take me there is the great selection of drinks on offer. The pub has a number of continental beers such as my favourite Erdinger and also has a range of real ales and ciders. Thursday night is cheap cider night so a good chance to get along and test out some new brews!! The pub itself is very spacious with rustic wooden floors and a homely feel. The garden out the back is huge with plenty of seating and is covered by parasols and heaters meaning you can stay relatively dry if the weather takes a turn for the worse. A top pub in the Stoke area and well worth checking out.
