Super tasty quality food, I noticed that on the menu it even tells you which farm the meat came from, or where the ice cream was made etc. The Greek Lamb and the Gammon are both brilliant. The portions are huge and I'm always left with enough food for another meal but save room for the Holly Bush sundae because you wont ever have a such a selection of tasty locally made ice cream :) The prices are great too, last time I went it was around 30quid for the 2 of us.

Popped in on the way back from a cold day out at Alton Towers…read more We got a lovely warm welcome, were quickly seated near a roaring fireplace and settled in for a great meal accompanied by some very well kept Hartington IPA. The pub is cosy and friendly, and in a great location for walkers and cyclists on the Tissington trail. Five starters incl chicken parfait, squash veloute and a roasted beets and goats cheese salad. Sweets included chocolate delice and apple crumble. Cheese course to follow. It's smarter than the pub (though I was distinctly dressed as a camper; no-one that I noticed looked down their nose at me), not a lot more expensive with some nicely cooked, locally sourced food done here and there with a Thai / chinese accent. Lots of cool Greer souvenirs, and of course, everything for the fisherman. Best of all, these are friendly people who are as likely to sit down and visit with you as they are to sell you something.
