I love this restaurant, the location is lovely with beautiful views which is great when the weather…read moreis nice because you can dine outside or just sit outside and have a drink. They also have a lovely spa and hotel. First time we have been since Covid and on arrival there were clear instructions of what to do and where to go when you arrived for your table. There was hand sanitiser on the entrance too. No staff wore masks or gloves and no details were taken of any other guests in the party, there were laminate menus on the table, no temperature checks were taken. The tables were spaced out where we sat with about 3 foot inbetween them. There was a table of 8 people at one table, not sure but I thought the maximum was still 6 people? The waiters were polite and friendly and came to take our orders quickly. The food was delicious and good value for money with the option of a small or large sunday roast which was bought to you plated. The steak pie was delicious and the puds were yummy. Will be nice to go to the spa and functions when they start doing them again. A lovely place to eat and good food.

It offers a range of eating opportunities, including pub meals, a carvery and a bistro style restaurant. One of the problems is that the staff do not seem very keen on customers and are not very helpful explaining the system to new visitors - you usually end up waiting in the wrong place only to be told to queue elsewhere! I went to a murder mystery evening which was OK but nothing special, and I have been to the carvery a couple of times. The food is not too bad but no better than any other local carvery - just much more expensive. IT is well located close to Tittesworth Reservoir and the Roaches, so gets quite a lot of passing visitors. It is worth trying if you are in the area, but I would not recommend making a special trip.
