Claiming he snatched it! Avoid this place like the plague! Over priced drinks, outrageous that they charge to get in and it's not that much fun. The fact that they have a 'dress code' of shoes and shirts is almost comical. Where do you think you are in Soho?! It's a little pub in a village. My advice.... Save your money or visit some of the more traditional and much friendlier pubs in Nantwich!

Dingy and dark on the inside and not much thought has gone into the decor. My immediate impression of this place was that of a sophisticated 'more exclusive' bar. Unfortunately it is anything but sophisticated or exclusive. So ordinary it hurts. My food experience was VERY average and overpriced. The service was slow, too long of a gap between starters and mains. The place tries to come across like an exclusive 'fancy' establishment, but it is just so horribly average. The menu is not that extensive, and the food not that tasty. At nightthe drinks are over priced and the bottle of beer I had was pretty warm. Urgh. The staff were all very welcoming, and we were all really impressed with the friendly, efficient service. The menu was full of English comfort foods...and they executed everything beautifully. Just look at my photos to get an idea...I tried the goats cheese and caramelised onion strudel, which came balanced on potatoes and perfect ratatouille. If you ever find yourself in this part of the country, it is definitely worth popping in here for some lunch! *Pro tip: It sounded like they get very booked up in the evening, so ring ahead to ensure you get a table!!

It's all set in a very tastefully restored half timber affair, with the grandfather clock out back still on time since who knows when. I had the fish stew based on a recommendation from James and Simon, a couple of regular patrons who can be found propping up the bar and in a few of South Cheshire's other CAMRA-approved establishments, and indeed, it was delicious.
