My partner and his sister had an enjoyable summer lunch on the patio of this bar/restaurant, overlooking the lovely green Somerset landscape. We returned for a two night stay with bed and breakfast plus evening meals.
The friendly owner, from a family of Cypriot chefs, was very welcoming, telling us the history of the pace, and how he has worked hard to turn it around, including appearing on a TV restaurant makeover show. Although he said he is "60% there", we were very happy with our stay.
The site is on a busy rural main road, but the rooms were quiet, with small balconies facing the countryside, and though the facilities were basic, they were clean and contained all the usual amenities.
At first glance, the menu did not look particularly exciting, with pizzas, pastas, and the usual choice of meat and fish dishes. However, when the mussels starter arrived it was brilliant, with an unexpectedly delicious creamy chili sauce. The mains were just as tasty, and were cooked perfectly.
