The local beer was good, there was no bloody TV and if there was music I can't recall it. Our dinner was delicious, I had the vegetarian bread pudding which was very unusual and got 10/10. I'm not a veggie but it sounded a great dish and boy did it deliver. not cheap but a great indulgent night out.

The staff were attentive and friendly and the food hit the spot - nicely presented and cooked well. The platter of prosciutto we shared as a starter was generous and the freshly made bread was excellent - I could have eaten more! My steak was a little on the well-done side of medium, but I'm not complaining. Altogether a very satisfying meal. A couple of real ales on tap - though not, for some reason, pulled at the bar; are the pumps for decoration? A log fire smouldering nicely at one end of the room. Enough fellow diners and drinkers to create a relaxed atmosphere. Altogether, a pleasant evening. I remember this pub as having a huge car park in the past, but this has been developed for housing so, if you drive into the car park you'll probably find yourself doing a three point turn and parking on the road.

The carvery meat was not cooked properly I did tell the chef but all he done was turn the meat around so nobody could see the pink pork! Yuck! The staff didn't have a clue who had ordered what are where going round to every table asking if anybody had ordered certain foods! I thought the new manager was very rude! I won't be returning again, The new manager has even pushed away everyday drinkers/eaters from this pub such a shame as this pub used to be the heart of the village!
