For those looking to purchase a unit in this building, I just moved out and wanted to give my…read moreliving experience to those who are interested. Purchasing a unit is not only expensive, but it is a 5-7 commitment. The building was built in the 1960s. In order for the billing to stand as it does, it has to have air constantly flowing through it. You will hear while you're waiting to get onto the elevators the air from the outside, sounding almost like a hurricane, while waiting for an elevator. I had air in my unit all the time. The unit that I purchased was not level and there were lots of times when I felt the building was leaning. My guests would come into my building and state that they felt it too. On very windy days, you may get stuck in the elevator. Another resident with myself got stuck in the elevator together. We were told to bang on the door to try to get it to move so that the elevator would move. This was a very scary experience. Processes are dated as well. There are lots of units in this building and the mail room only has one person taking care of all the packages for the entire building. This created problems with residents getting other residents packages. And getting your packages in a timely manner. Carts, that were provided for the residents to use were all broken. You will hear screams from the Ferris wheel and bands playing at the pier since the building is right next to it. You will also hear fog horns from the boats. If you like the lake, the Lakeview was very nice. At least during the day because at night it was pitch black unless your unit faced the pier. If you purchase a parking spot, which I did, there was a problem with entry into the parking garage as they placed valet directly in front of the door to get in to the garage. Those that are trying to get in and park were asked to wait until the parking attendant valeted the cars that wanted to be valeted. When asked to address this, their remedy was to enter the exit door of the garage if a car was blocking the door to the entrance. There are a lot of buildings in Chicago that are old, but they are constantly kept up and their processes are constantly updated. This is not one of those places. Something that you would not know unless you lived there personally. Buyer beware.

The common areas are great, the gym is a nice size, and there's a coffee bar downstairs which is a great feature. The building is quiet, pet friendly, and great food and nightlife is just steps away!! The neighborhood is pretty quiet even with all the nightlife around the corner. Overall, I've enjoyed my experience here and I plan to stick around as long as possible.

There were couches to lounge around on, a full dining room table, and plenty of standing room around the kitchen area! Having a kitchen space allowed the hosts to serve warm, mulled wine, ice cold sangria, and straight-out-of-the-oven appetizers! They also have an employee on site at all times to deal with any problems, which is a nice perk to ensure a flawless party. The space is simply stunning, with lots of windows letting in plenty of natural light, beautiful high ceilings and freshly painted white walls. It was easy to transform it from a workspace into an elegant and serene venue by adding high boys, linens, flower arrangements, balloons, and a few other personal touches. We were able to fit approximately 70 guests very comfortably, and the acoustics were great for our DJ and live band. The owner, Liane, was very accommodating. She reserved our preferred date for us, she maintained communication with our event planner, and she allowed us access to the venue the evening before the event to setup, which was extremely helpful. We were very grateful that we were able to reserve the space for a Sunday afternoon, when street parking would be free. Our guests had no difficulty finding the location or parking, and many commented on how beautiful the venue was. Oh, and there are several bathrooms-- all of them clean and well equipped for your guests (when I was looking at other venues, I noticed that is not always the case, but it's so important-- so I wanted to be sure to mention it here). If you're looking for a space to host your next event, be sure to check this one out. You won't be disappointed :)

It's a fantastic coworking space for those that are looking for a spot to do work that is well appointed, welcoming and community-focused. Their leadership sets them apart and rather than focusing on squeezing dollars from their membership - they want to build a helpful, strong and welcoming community for everyone. We have private desks which at the current rate is a steal for anything in Logan or other neighborhoods, but public space abounds for those not looking for a private space. There are conference rooms, phone booths and common areas that are all able to be reserved by their online system. I've been to a number of coworking spaces that are either incredibly pretentious or try so hard to be cool and edgy that they lose their purpose. People can actually get shit done here and meet others that are entrepreneurs who can benefit their company. We've added 3 contractors to our company roster simply by being here and they have added to the quality of work our company provides. We worked the rest of the day at a nearby coffee shop that was warm and friendly. I'm not sure if whispering is banned in the main work area but if so, I didn't see any signs and we weren't given rules. They have two levels - the first level features a large lounge-like space with a coffee bar. Patio space is also available on nicer days. There are a few phone rooms available and there is also a communal working space that is designed for quiet working. The rented office spaces are also surrounding this area. The second floor features a smaller lounge and more studio spaces so working space is more limited. I was able to find a few good spots to work from, however, they don't have big tables available outside of the communal quiet space so it isn't a spot to really lay out all of your work. Wifi was great and there are light refreshments available while you are there. I would recommend trying a day! Also perk for those of you with dogs, this place is dog friendly so you can bring your dog to work! They have a green area on the second floor.

However, a few things happened in my room that made my one night stay disappointing was: 1. My tv did not work. I tried to play Netflix and it played it for like 5 mins and then my tv went black. It kept doing that. 2. The first time I used the restroom the whole toilet paper holder fell out the wall. And there was no way to put it back without the constant falling. Other than these two things my stay was a great experience'

For those of us that work for ourselves, having a place like the Study all local and stuff makes it so easy to please those clients. Our clients happy, Pubert happy. This dude that run the thing, Andy, the guy is legit. Andy'll take care of you. He keeps the Study real nice. Fast internet, lotsa desks and tables, quiet atmosphere. And listen, babies, this dude made us some pour-over coffee. Yeah, you heard that right. Dude busts out the Chemex and makes us coffee. We had to do a doubletake. We judge a coworking space by how much work we can pound out. And babies, you'll never believe how productively the Rose & Company rocked it while at the Study. Got them proposals out, them numbers crunched, the clients pleasured. With time to spare, we even busted out for a quick slurp over at the Goose Island tap room that is literally on the same block as the Study. Can't beat that, babies. Gimme them hops! Maybe you see us there next time you come in. Pubert all over the country these days, but Chicago is where we hang our hat. And when we home in Chicago and need to crank out some work, the Study is our spot. Convenient and quiet. That's our jam. Now get to work!

There have been multiple mailbox and car break-ins, and the noise from the neighbors on the third floor is unbearable. The pervasive smell of weed from other units makes living here unpleasant. The association imposes ridiculous and excessive fees purely to enrich themselves. They charge a $300-$400 move-out fee for so-called "monitoring" services, but all they do is hang old moving curtains in the elevator. Additionally, they demand a $300 refundable fee for potential damages, further padding their pockets. During my time here, I have seen numerous move-ins and move-outs, and I have never seen the association actually assist with any of them. Living here has been a terrible experience, and I strongly advise against renting or buying in this building. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

This was very distressing as I didn't have enough time to really consider trying to buy and the price offered is not worth it for the area. Would have stayed if I didn't have to buy. Residents who had longer to decide and negotiate were more advantageous in making a decision. We were notified in late April of the takeover and my lease was up in September. While I was searching for an apartment, prospective buyers were constantly viewing my loft even on my move date. I could not stay longer as they were not going to renew my lease. I was a very good tenant, paid rent on time and was not given any extra consideration. Tenants who renewed their leases in April had the entire year to decide. Buy or forced to leave. Could not use your own lender.
