This hotel was so lovely! I travel the world as a flight attendant and spend half of my month in a hotel. This hotel had such genuine hospitality through and though from the GM to the servers to the chef. The rooms were clean, bed and pillows very comfy and the back patio was perfect to sit and relax. If you believe the advertising, I would recommend that you drive by. The appetizers are frozen and delivered by semi, with the chicken breast which is not only flavorless but really just cafeteria grade chciken. Onto the steaks, this is not the same as it was 25 years ago and the steak was flavorless and really expensive. After determining we had to see the recent 5 planets alignment because it wouldn't be back until 2040, we went in search for a "dark sky" location nearest to us. The winner: Centennial, Wyoming. We made reservations at The Old Corral Hotel. It was delightful in all kinds of ways: it's simple, clean, inexpensive and comfortable in a no-frills place-to-rest-the-head kind of way. Each staff person we encountered was exceptionally friendly and helpful It was a GREAT place to witness the 4:30 am 5-planet show in the "dark sky" right outside the side exit/entrance to our hotel hall at 4:30 am. That's was made even better, when our window of seeing Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn -- with the crescent moon thrown in for good measure. I'm giving it 4 stars because the room was hot -- had a window air conditioning that was loud, didn't work all that well. And... I'd have preferred a window I could open to let the beautiful cool evening air in the room. read more

So I really want to give this place 5 stars. The staff are really nice and the location is great. However, the place is old with really thin walls. Stayed on the first floor. The room above us had kids and it sounded like a herd of elephants pounding around. Really loud. The folks next door, despite their attempts to be quiet, woke me up a number of times. The bathroom was worn down with a hole left in the ceiling from a pipe repair. They have free coffee in the morning! At 7am, the coffee was cold. read more

We just stayed over the weekend as a much needed escape. This is a no frills place, but clean and convenient to the local area, walking distance to a local grocery and gas station. We ate at the steakhouse twice, had great meals and service with Emily. The room was clean, the beds comfortable. I agree with the noise issue, our second night it sounded as if the people upstairs were moving furniture. Not the hotels fault and they stopped soon enough. read more

So thankful that our friends invited us to join them for their yearly visit for 4th of July. To say it was amazing is an understatement!!! The hotel is comfortable, great ambiance. The location and nearby scenery is truly incredible. The tiny town has everything you need, even with population of 200. The gift shop has some great items at reasonable prices. The restaurant has great service and food was good. It really is a hidden gem!! More than that, huge shout out to the Manager Brian and Server Anna. Both Brian and Anna were sooo nice and patient in a difficult situation, total professionals with a difficult customer (embarrassed that it was me and I did apologize profusely). We were on our way to Yellowstone and were looking to stay overnight in someplace different then all the cookie cutter places. We found this place and it fit us perfectly. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home from check-in to check-out. The whole place is like a step back in time to the old west. The entire place is very clean and our room was as well. They had the usual amenities in the room including a frig. There is no coffee in the room but, there is a coffee room for hot coffee in the morning and a separate TV room that is a great get away. The only problem is they close it and everything else at 9:00 pm so after that there is no where to go but, your room. There is a nice gift shop with lots of stuff. There is also a Steakhouse restaurant right there for a delicious meal as it is really the only nice one in this very tiny town. If you are looking for a get away this is it. read more

In the tiny town of Centennial, WY (pop 100), The Old Corral Hotel and Steakhouse is the place to stay if you find yourself in this part of Wyoming. It's not the only place to stay, but I'm here to tell you that there is no other choice for me. I spent a night here a couple of weeks ago after a hike in the nearby Medicine Bow National Forest. The steakhouse is a great place to grab a bite to eat. And after a great hike on Medicine Bow Peak I was more than hungry. I opened with an appetizer then went for the Rodeo Burger (1/2lb burger with bacon, 2 cheeses, barbecue sauce, and breaded onion strips), that came with a side of potato salad that was some of the best I've had in a while. To top it off I had a slice of a homemade mountain berry pie(blackberries, blueberries and raspberries) that was incredible! Great service, great food and drinks! There is also a well stocked gift shop downstairs and upstairs at the Old Corral with plenty of unique items to chose from. The rooms at the Old Corral were just what I expected, having a Western cabin like theme. Good sized rooms with very comfy log framed beds. I didnt want to leave the comfort of my bed the next day, and if I could have taken it with me I would have, yet I had to get back to Denver. If you're in the Snowy Range area and you need a nice place to stay, with comfortable rooms, and great hospitality, this would be it! read more

One of the goals during our road trip this summer was to find interesting places to stay when we weren't camping. Most of our goals were never met after one of the rules changed but The Old Corral Hotel & Steakhouse fit the bill and was pretty great! We weren't in Wyoming for snow or to hike, but simply to be in Wyoming because it is a really amazing, beautiful state so we actually stayed here specifically by choice, not out of necessity. Great place to go and get a room if you are staying on the east side of Snowy Range. The restaurant is very good and well worth going to. That is especially good though because dining options in this town come up a bit short! Well worth just driving to as well and having supper for the evening too! read more

We love visiting Centennial on our way up to the Snowy Range, and for my wife's birthday, we decided to eat at the Old Corral Restaurant and stayed the night at the hotel. Centennial has been a place we have loved to visit since we first visited back in 1999. Of course, being so far off the beaten path, it doesn't seem like Y2K even really had any impact on the population of just over a 100. The hotel and restaurant is family owned and has been under the new management for about 6 or 7 years. The food was really good, although they no longer offer things like buffalo burgers like the previous owners. I did ask about this and they said that it was not a huge seller, so they discontinued it. However, the steak is aged and very good as was the prime rib that my wife had. The ambience of the hotel, restaurant, and gift store is nothing short of true western. One room is designed as a movie room and is probably one of the few places where you can still find VHS movies on offer surrounded by posters of the likes of Gene Autry, John Wayne, Tom Mix, and even Hoot Gibson! The room is full of soft, very comfortable leather couches for you to while away a couple of hours should you so desire. The hotel is pleasant as are the family that staff this location. Hunters and recreational vehicle users seemed to be the main staple of this out-of-the-way town. While the ambience and the food is great, the beds were not the best I have slept in. So, if you are a picky sleeper, these mattresses simply laid on a metal frame are probably not going to be for you. This is the reason for the deduction of one number rating. Of course, this may have just been the room that we were in, and they may have had better beds on offer had we booked further in advance. The people of the town are friendly and welcome visitors to the few establishments that are available. There is a local bar or two where they played live music and even had a music festival on the Saturday in the afternoon. Breakfast is slim pickings though, except for a local hotel that offers a few items and a coffee drive-through place. Overall, this is a place we would be willing to stay again. It does sit at 8000 feet above sea level, so coming from sea level to here would probably not be a great choice to stay for more than a few hours. Altitude sickness can set in rather quickly at this elevation, but the views are incredible. Plus, it is only about a 20-25 minute drive up another 4,000 feet to be able to view miles in any direction with glacial lakes where you may even find (as we did) an elk bathing in the frigid waters. read more

We were lucky enough to snag the Sierra Cabin. Unbelievably relaxing, with pretty much everything a person needs for a home away from home to stay for a few cozy days in the summer while exploring the mountains. It is separate from the hotel so bring your own coffee and other drinking/eating ingredients. There is even a gas grill on the porch and yes, it works :) One night we had dinner in the Old Corral restaurant and that was one of the best ribeyes I've ever tasted. Was in town for hunting. Weather got too bad for tent camping. Went into town to stay at a hotel. Chose the Old Corral Hotel. They had rooms. It is an older hotel but Rooms were fresh and very clean. Everything worked properly. It was a little out of date but they really stayed on top of repairs and cleanliness. Staff was wonderful. They have a guest tv room that was very spacious. They have a coffee room with everything you need. I told them I was going hunting in the morning and they wouldn't be open for me to get coffee. They offered to bring me an insulated decanter full with cups and all the fixings for coffee guaranteed to be hot when I wake up. I accepted and it was delightful. One of the desk attendants even suggested a good place to try hunting and we successfully saw legal deer. Chose not to pull the trigger but none the less we saw way more bucks than we had been seeing elsewhere. Thanks so much for the great stay Old Corral Hotel and staff. First of all, I thought this hotel was in a great location to explore the Snowy Range. The interiors are decorated in western motif. I was pleased by the price and within walking distance to breakfast places. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They quickly changed our rooms once we acknowledged we didn't want the room right by the exit door. I'd like to give it 3 stars but our last night there I got bitten by spiders I believe but not really sure and ended up with several bites all over. I notified management and they did comp one night lodging and said they notified pest control service. Unfortunately I had to live with severe itching for over a week. I hope they get the bug issue resolved. read more

The Old Corral has been in Centennial for around 80 years. It was about to be boarded up, but a "local" saved the day!!! I loved talking to the new owner. He and his family have embraced this place with a well deserved love. The gift shop is filled with fun things, many created by the owners. The steaks, salads and sides were delicious. The one and only time I ate at the Old Corral was nearly a half century ago (could I ever imagine using this term about myself???). It was totally memorable. Our visit on 23 July will also stick with me. A very special place! read more
