We were on our way to Yellowstone and were looking to stay overnight in someplace different then all the cookie cutter places. We found this place and it fit us perfectly. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home from check-in to check-out. The whole place is like a step back in time to the old west. The entire place is very clean and our room was as well. They had the usual amenities in the room including a frig. There is no coffee in the room but, there is a coffee room for hot coffee in the morning and a separate TV room that is a great get away. The only problem is they close it and everything else at 9:00 pm so after that there is no where to go but, your room. There is a nice gift shop with lots of stuff. There is also a Steakhouse restaurant right there for a delicious meal as it is really the only nice one in this very tiny town. If you are looking for a get away this is it.

My comfortable bed for the night. Oh how I wish I had this bed!

In the tiny town of Centennial, WY (pop 100), The Old Corral Hotel and Steakhouse is the place to stay if you find yourself in this part of Wyoming. It's not the only place to stay, but I'm here to tell you that there is no other choice for me. I spent a night here a couple of weeks ago after a hike in the nearby Medicine Bow National Forest. The steakhouse is a great place to grab a bite to eat. And after a great hike on Medicine Bow Peak I was more than hungry. I opened with an appetizer then went for the Rodeo Burger (1/2lb burger with bacon, 2 cheeses, barbecue sauce, and breaded onion strips), that came with a side of potato salad that was some of the best I've had in a while. To top it off I had a slice of a homemade mountain berry pie(blackberries, blueberries and raspberries) that was incredible! Great service, great food and drinks! There is also a well stocked gift shop downstairs and upstairs at the Old Corral with plenty of unique items to chose from. The rooms at the Old Corral were just what I expected, having a Western cabin like theme. Good sized rooms with very comfy log framed beds. I didnt want to leave the comfort of my bed the next day, and if I could have taken it with me I would have, yet I had to get back to Denver. If you're in the Snowy Range area and you need a nice place to stay, with comfortable rooms, and great hospitality, this would be it!

Does the Self family still own the Old Corral? Gary Richards, former summer employee there.

No sir, it's been through 3 different owners since Pat and Nici. Our family, Gates, are now the proud owners of 8 years now. Stop on by and reminisce sometime :-)… Read more

Hands down, one of my favorite vacation spots!!!…read more My sister and I came here several years ago and stayed for 3 nights prior to continuing on a western road trip, but we knew we wanted to come back to the Vee Bar again. Flash forward three years - not only did we come back but this time, we stayed the entire week! We were so glad we got to experience the latter part of the week at the ranch - inclusive of trapshooting, archery, a day-long mountain ride, and an overnight camp-out! It was really humbling that the wranglers remembered us from our previous visit, too; we really felt a part of their family! Speaking of the staff - they are phenomenal and VERY accommodating! The on-site chef is AMAZING and provides gluten free/vegetarian/etc. options during the buffet-style meals; the wranglers ensure you are comfortable at all times; Lori at the front desk was very responsive via email with my pre-travel questions; and housekeeping made our cabin looking fresh every day. All were very welcoming and friendly. Vee Bar puts together a very well-organized itinerary for the week too. As a planner, I personally love this. They have multiple activities for all activity levels and you're more than welcome to "skip" an activity if you wish. From horseback riding to hiking, they truly have something for everyone, and it's very evident they put a lot of time into creating a well-rounded trip experience. The reason why we chose Vee Bar initially (compared to other dude ranches) was due to its proximity to the Denver Airport. Now, I will gladly continue revisiting due to the GREAT experiences and memories made there. If you're wanting a true western experience, I couldn't recommend Vee Bar enough. I truly cannot say enough good things about this ranch!

Everyone there was wonderful and we had the best time learning about life on a ranch. We rode…read morehorses, drove cattle, played games and ate great food! Would definitely recommend and will return someday!
