What a great and yummy getaway from mine and my sons camping weekend. Our waiter was a thee best! I wish i had got his name. Super sweet and made my honey mustard when i asked for bbq because they didn't have bbq. He also brought my son crayons and the coloring sheet they had and was very attentive. Top tier service with top tier views! Their outside heaters didn't work so it got chilly once the sum went down - so bring layers! Because you won'y want to leave. I loved that it was right outside my camp area!

My family and I stayed at the cottages for one night on a Saturday in mid October. We pre booked ahead of time. It's located next local gas station and Death Valley visitor center. The complex is huge in size. We parked in the back and walked to the lobby to get our key. The interior of the lobby is Spanish style and very pretty inside. The staff are nice and helpful. The cottages are newly built and they are 2 rows of them. Each room has a microwave and laundry room, sofa, bedroom, ceiling fan. It is very cozy inside and comfortable too. The bed is firm and comfortable. The bathroom is nice with huge shower. There is local gift shop and they sell merchandise, sandwiches, snacks, soda, icee, ice cream. The restaurant is located next to the gift shop has buffet which we didn't do. There is a swimming pool, with lots of palm trees and borax museum. There is an ice cream shop and interior looks like on the 1950's. The prices are affordable and it tastes so good. Plenty of parking in the back.

This is a difficult review because I really enjoyed the resort/hotel, but there were too many negatives to offset the great experience. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere which makes it very special, quite, and secluded.. The views are amazing and there are several things to do. Pros: Location. Nothing else around and we stayed in a newer Cottage which was a two room villa. We had a refrigerator and microwave in the room. There was a sofa and chair in the sitting area and a wonderful porch to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. Location: Really the only place to stay in Death Valley. It has 3 restaurants and 3-4 shops including a general store which had most everything you need that you forgot to bring when arriving two hours away from Las Vegas in the middle of nowhere. The pricing in the resort stores is very steep - but that's to be expected in such a remote location. The swimming pool was very nice and heated - it is spring fed so a little cool so they keep it warm. There was hardly nobody at the pool when we visited in late October. Cons: the restaurants are not good. Average at best. However, I would say they provided basic meals at a remote location in the middle of the desert. Prices are very high, but again expected due to the remote location. I anticipated having better food. The 1849 Buffet is visited by several tour busses throughout the day - they stop and let bus loads of people out because it is the only place to eat. Just be aware of that and don't get caught trying to eat there when the busses arrive. The WiFi was absolutely horrible and basically didn't work. Every hour or so it kept asking you to sign in again but it was so slow and bad it really didn't matter. If you are expecting to be online while here, it's not going to happen. The 3G cell signal is also so bad you can't really aren't able to receive phone calls or data over the WiFi. We were here for almost a week and it was just simply horrible. Security and Safety: here's the big one for me. We traveled with a group of about 20 people. We stayed in several of the cottages for our trip. On the last night before we checked out, two of our cottages had drivers licenses, automobile insurance cards, and other personal information stolen out of the room. The resort does NOT provide daily housekeeping services, so someone intentionally went into the rooms and stole the information. When inquiring about it at the front desk, they said they knew who went into the rooms due to the electronic locks, but there is nothing they can do! I find it rather bizarre that the same information was stolen out of two rooms. The resort offered no recourse for the stolen information and basically didn't even care it happened. This is the primary reason for my rating of a 1. If you stay here, lock up everything! I'd love to say I'd return, but this just was horrible.

Stayed for two nights at the Inn at the Oasis during our Death Valley trip. Loved the beautiful historic hotel. It truly is an oasis with all the palm trees and the beautiful pool area. It's very remote and one of the few lodging (and dining) options in the park. We enjoyed our room, which was fairly compact but well furnished and efficient with a historic decor. While a beautiful, historic hotel, service in general left something to be desired, likely due to its extremely remote location. We had several meals on site. We ate dinner at the Inn's main dining room and enjoyed our meal although the pricing was pretty high for the meal. I had the salmon and enjoyed it. The lady had swordfish and also enjoyed it. Service was a bit lackadaisical. We ate lunch at the Ranch's ice cream parlor. I had a bowl of chili and thought it appeared to be something from an old batch of chili. The lady had grilled cheese and thought it was so so. During the entire time of our about 30 minutes or so we were having lunch, the servers at the counter were talking loudly amongst themselves arguing about who worked harder. Really petty discussion and not appropriate in front of customers. We had dinner at the bar of the Saloon at the Ranch. I had tacos and thought it was ok. The lady had pasta and liked it. Service was ok from the bartender. Checking out at the hotel, the only desk clerk was on an extended break and took quite awhile to check out. We spent some time at the Inn's pool and enjoyed it. It's really the oasis of the oasis. While this is a really cool property, the high prices and service lapses limit it.

The Oasis isn't directly affiliated with the park so your money here doesn't go toward the park service directly. However, at here you'll find a store, restaurants, an ice cream parlor, bar, and pool. You'll be very comfortable compared to anywhere else nearby if you book a room. Pro tip to save money, get a campsite in sites 1-10 because those have shade, and all campsites give you access to all amenities - like Wi-Fi and that pool. Staff seems to be a bit confused on charging a refundable deposit on campsites because some members charge refundable deposits for sites ($75/night) and others don't. Be sure you arrive with a full tank of gas because gas in the park is extremely expensive and you'll be driving up mountains to get out of the park.

The only place to go to the bathroom. No light after dark, far from rooms, staff doesn't give a f**k

It was our first time in DVNP, and the cottages looked super cute and convenient. (They were!) In our duplex cottage, we had our own porch area, and inside, a living room (with a sofa fold out bed), a kitchenette area (with a fridge and microwave and coffee maker), a bathroom with a shower, a little washer/dryer laundry machine, and a master bedroom with a closet. We had access to, and used, the 86 degree pool (great after hiking), and there were restaurants and a gift shop and an ice cream shop, and golf facilities. The Oasis is right next door to the Furnace Creek Visitor Center (which we didn't make it to) and the Furnace Creek campground. Super convenient, Super cute, Good food available at the Wild Rose Tavern (which we went to twice), and our cottage neighbors were great. We loved every minute! Last kind words for dinner was always so packed and we did not want to wait. Borax museum on site for us to explore. General store for us to buy some snacks for the kids. That's pretty much it. Everything stated below is being shared as alleged conduct based on what I personally witnessed, experienced, heard from others, or believe to be occurring. This post is protected opinion and free speech, and I encourage the appropriate authorities to investigate these allegations if necessary. In my opinion, this establishment allegedly operates under extremely questionable and unsafe conditions. I personally observed or heard repeated allegations involving rodents, poor sanitation, buffet food temperatures allegedly not being consistently checked, and management allegedly continuing operations during water outages and power failures instead of temporarily shutting down. It is also my opinion that the company allegedly prioritizes profit over safety. There were frequent concerns among employees regarding illnesses spreading around the workplace, and in my view, sanitation standards allegedly did not appear to be taken seriously enough considering the conditions employees and guests were exposed to. I also heard allegations that not all servers and bartenders allegedly possessed the proper food safety or alcohol service certifications that may be required. Employees allegedly raised concerns about training, workplace safety, and management practices on multiple occasions. Certain paintings and imagery displayed throughout the property personally made me uncomfortable and gave me what I would describe as cult-like vibes, although that is strictly my own personal opinion and interpretation. I also heard repeated allegations from employees and others about possible drug activity involving individuals around the property, including statements implying that if someone was "looking to get high," they allegedly would not have difficulty finding it there. I cannot independently verify every statement made by others, but these allegations contributed to what I personally viewed as an unsafe and unprofessional environment. There were also ongoing allegations involving underpayment of workers, paycheck issues, unsafe heat conditions, discrimination, breach of contract concerns, and employees allegedly being expected to work through conditions involving water outages, electrical issues, and extreme temperatures. Some employees and former employees also discussed allegations involving asbestos concerns within parts of the property, though I cannot independently confirm those claims and believe they should be professionally investigated if credible evidence exists. In my opinion, this was not a healthy or safe environment for workers or guests. Anyone visiting should allegedly be prepared for unsanitary conditions and should hopefully have a strong immune system because illnesses and viruses allegedly spread frequently throughout the workplace. I personally question why stronger investigations allegedly have not taken place already considering the number of concerns employees and former employees have discussed over time. I also believe workers should feel empowered to document unsafe conditions and report legitimate concerns to OSHA, labor boards, health departments, or other proper authorities without fear of retaliation. Again, these statements are allegations, opinions, concerns, interpretations, and personal observations being shared publicly under my right to free speech and should not be interpreted as established findings of fact unless officially confirmed by the appropriate authorities.

Amenities: Hot shower (no tub), mini-fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee maker including coffee pods and creamer. Breakfast of bagels, yogurt and fruit also included. BTW the hot water was truly hot, which was nice (it's chilly here in winter). Lots of complimentary goodies (lotion, shampoo, bath gel, even eye gel and pillow spray to help you get a good night's sleep). Room: Very comfortable bed, large wardrobe for storage, and a nice desk with chair. NO CELL SERVICE OR LANDLINE phone here; but there is free Wi-Fi and a pay phone nearby for emergencies. Staying at the Inn gives you access to the Warm Spring Pool, which is heavenly.
