It has been my pleasure to frequent Delight's Hot Springs Resort, now known as Death Valley Hot Springs, for about 20 years. I have witnessed and appreciated the improvements much to my delight and the delight of hundreds of fellow hikers I bring with me to soak and relax after hiking at Death Valley or China Ranch Date Farm. Often I go expressly for a therapeutic soak just to soak and detox, not necessarily after hiking. As I recall, the original cost to soak was $10, and now is $35, which is understandable and acceptable based on the property improvements over 20 years. It is in my opinion worth the price if all goes well. However .... First Complaint On my latest visit the evening of Saturday January 10, 2026, I took 12 fellow hikers with me to soak and relax after hiking a long day in Death Valley. We were very disappointed and surprised that the private hot tub rooms and restrooms did not have any lighting whatsoever. We don't know whether the power was off, or the light bulbs were burned out (unlikely that every room had burned out light bulbs all at the same time), but it is not only very awkward and uncomfortable to stumble and fumble around in the dark, it is also very unsafe, because the hard cold floors are wet and slippery. The website [https://deathvalleyhotsprings.com/] offers this invitation: "We would love to hear from you, and welcome you to our family owned Hot Springs. Whether you have a question, a comment, or a booking request, please feel free to contact us anytime. You can reach us by phone or email. Our friendly and professional staff will be happy to assist you and make your vacation a reality." There is a phone number provided: 1-844-728-5550. However there is not a way provided to email on the website to make any comments, whether positive or negative. Therefore I am writing reviews in other places since the company does not want reviews. (This is the first review for this company on Trustpilot as of this date January 13, 2026.) Second Complaint The temperature of the hot tubs was below what it should be, and what I have previously experienced, of approximately 100-105F. I would estimate the temperature to be closer to 95F. Third Complaint There has never been an effective system to remind people soaking in private rooms that the 30 minutes is up and time to rotate out to allow others waiting a turn. People who want to use a private room have no way of knowing how long the guests inside the private room have been there. Due to complaints from guests who wanted a turn inside private rooms, I witnessed the cashier in the office shut down the office in order to go remind guests inside the private rooms it was time to give others a turn. There is only one cashier in the office who manages the entire property, to include checking in and out for lodging guests, soaking guests, managing the temperature of the pool and hot tubs, etc. In all the 20 years, there has never been an effective system to manage this 30 minute time limit for rotation. Easy enough to make reservations on line for two days in a bungalow with half bath. Kitchen nook has a small microwave, mini fridge and sink. Note that the property is tapped into the spring water and we discover to get hot water you need to let water run for a while. Nice pool heated with spring water and three private pools with a time limit of 30 minutes pool temps at 104 or 102 with showers. Day passes available. I would not recommend this place to anybody. First their power and water were out the first four hours of our stay we had dogs with us and it was too hot to be there without air-conditioning or water. They refuse to give us a refund. And their Hot Springs were down because the power was out still refusing to give us a refund. My mom barely touched the window to try to open it to let it breeze in and the windows are so old it just shattered. So I told the front desk and they charge me $200 extra. So it cost $400 to stay at a place had no air-conditioning no water and I couldn't use the hot springs. :(. I won't stay here again. Oh and there's no WiFi at all and no tvs. This place is a joke. read more

I made reservations to see the hot springs in Tecopa. I am very new at traveling to Hot Springs (this was my first trip), and I decided to try Tecopa Hot Springs Resort. To begin with, I received no updates regarding Tecopa and the Hot Springs there. The resort has 2 tiny tubs that were available. The problem was that after driving through town and seeing not 1 person, visited Hot Springs bigger locations and noticed they were closed until October 1st. I was unaware of this and would have hoped I would have been notified. I tried the community center and nobody was available. Their wifi that was offered dis not work. The rooms don't have tvs which makes sense with Hot Springs, but no hot springs and no internet, I went to the office. A ring doorbell was available and I attempted to called at least twice. I returned the key without using the room and drove to the next town. Nobody called or reached out. I waited several days before leaving this Yelp, hoping they would make things right. And we won't even get to the facilities you get for 140 dollars. Lol. I. Can't. I wish they allowed 0 stars. read more

I also had a dog with me small only 9 months brought a kennel and i was not aware of the no dogs in motel rooms because I did not personally book these rooms.With that being said completely understandable for charging us the cleaning fee. What i dont understand was that this white girl who worked there and this black man said they had PROOF of me having two dogs AND WANTING TO CHARGE US FOR 2 DOGS!!! and when i came out to talk to them and ask for proof the black man with dreads and glasses (i think name is tony?) was very ignorant and rude saying "okay well charge you for 1 then" NOT EVEN giving us a an apology or saying it was a mistake and this was after ME AND ENGLISH SPEAKER CAME OUT AND ASKED FOR PROOF and thats when they couldn't show us when supposedly they had proof and pictures of 2 dogs?! When this was brought up I had called the a scammer and they took very much offense to it and honestly I'm seeing discrimination as well because if it were not for me who actually SPOKE ENGLISH they would've charged us FOR 2 DOGS which is outrageous WHEN I ACKNOWLEDGED THAT WE WOULD PAY FOR MY 1 DOG!!! Highly recommended and well worth the drive. Bring your own water. Pack for the day or stay over night. Facility is well kept and tasha is beyond welcoming. Pets are allowed and they have a beautiful and friendly black and white pup on property as well as a feline friend in the main office. I've never been here. Or ANY of Death Valley. I like trees. I've been to every nook of Calif., every hot springs, and I'm STUNNED at the intensity and wonder of the fascinating people that are drawn here. I'm lowering myself to Reading the reviews about the springs now. I already love it. I would expect the Out of touch urban folk would write lousy reviews of their personal orderly expectations and demands. Now I'll go check it out for myself & get back. A week Later: I found this to be a highly unusual place, in mostly a very good way. This is NOT a "resort" per say. In my terms, it is more rustic and "back-woodish" (Cactus? ) Not having cell service just caps it off great. (Some withdrawals even for myself) The waters are deeply healing- THATS what you go for ! However, I believe if someone desires the PUREST unadulterated in any way kind of waters, PH balanced and not a trace of chlorine, and very maintained and clean, go a couple blocks away to the "God waters" place. This is the place to camp in Tecopa! The sites are level and good size with a small concrete pad. The bathhouse was perfect and clean and the most relaxing experience ever. Kyle the camp host was friendly and helpful and made the whole experience even better. There is a great Bistro and Perez makes some awesome tacos and his salsa is terrific! We made a reservation for the 22nd-24th not knowing about California's travel advisories. When we emailed to inquire about amenities we were advised by Amy about restrictions to out of state travelers and told we wouldn't be charged for the reservations. No problem! We'll try again once we're allowed to travel, right? In the middle of the night we received an unprompted email from Amy around 4am..... this is what we woke up to ... Do not stay in any of their rooms. They are run down and they will not even talk to you or offer any resolutions to your issues. Not having phone reception and Wi-Fi also makes it impossible to get a hold of anybody you will not get a refund and you will not even be able to dispute it with your credit card company because the burden of proof is on you and they will just ignore you. read more

The Hot Springs are well kept, clean and so soothing. The cabin was clean and comfortable and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Awesome hot springs and complete relaxation with a very relaxing experience. The hot Pool is 104°F all the time. The other pool is a very nice cooler temperature when you can't handle the hot Pool. Outdoor & indoor seating . Restrooms are clean and pre showers are recommended before entering into any pools. No clothes or bathing suits are allowed in the pools. There's a shower room complete with toilet with a locking door. The pools are not coed . People are very friendly. It's sad it's not open 24 hours a day. About an hour and a half away from vegas you'll find this hidden gem. Located minutes after delights hot spring resort to your right, you'll see the fence and sign so park there. 105 tecopa Hot Springs Rd. Just to think all this time this was right in my backyard. Easy to get to but it is quite muddy, so be sure to bring a pair of shoes that you don't care about. A big enough pool with different spots that were hotter then other spots. While I was soaking I found a couple of hot pockets for my feet that felt really nice. Also be sure to bring water, snacks or food, towels, a blanket, your favorite playlist on your Bluetooth speaker, a folding chair, extra set of warm clothes (if your coming during the winter). I also saw firewood there. So someone made a fire which I'm sure was pretty cool! I'll I ask is to Respect Mother Nature and enjoy what she's offering us. This is a great natural hot spring! The only thing I'd warn about is last time we were there it was raining and the mud on the dirt road that you walk down to get to the springs is not forgiving. It accumulated on our shoes so bad we had to take them off and then it accumulated on our feet. Had to find a stick once we got to the asphalt road and scrape the mud from our feet and then later find a place to wash. It wouldn't come off!! If it's wet on this dirt road, just be aware of that. I never stayed at the resort portion of Tecopa Springs, but I did stop by the Tecopa Hot Springs Resort to use the Tecopa Hot Springs - with the Green Tortoise - on our journey back to San Francisco. Sitting in hot natural mineral water - naked - with amazing inspiring women - feeling the cold open air - graze our faces - was an unparalleled experience. There was something so beautiful about shedding inhibitions, insecurities, and just being. Humbling oneself, as the natural minerals of the water nourish your body - as you talk with women - about their stories and bottles of wisdom. It's empowering. Hot Springs are a unique way to nurture the body and soul. It also has an excellent ability to naturally foster community. At this particular Hot Springs there is no pretension. The facilities are basic. And outside of some simple signs - advising you about showering beforehand, etc - you're pretty much left to explore the simple facilities by yourself. We came during the day - and staring up at blue skies - while soaking was bliss. But if you're able to - it would be worth basking in these springs at night - so you can gaze up at the dazzling stars, the cold air around you, while the hot water cradles you. Classic all-natural hot springs mudhole in the desert just outside Tecopa, on the eastern edge of Death Valley. Coordinates are 35.886242, -116.234758...just follow Tecopa Hot Springs Rd northeast, past all the developed resorts. You'll see a big marshy area on the left, and a trail on the right -- with some cars usually parked there on the side of the road. A very short, flat, easy trail will take you right to the mudhole. Like I said, this is an all-natural mudhole -- surrounded by reeds, with a mucky mud bottom. The water temp varies depending on where you get in, but you should be able to see some well-trodden entry points on the north end, which make for easiest access. The farther south you go in the pool, the cooler the water...but then you risk the wrath of mudflies. I prefer to stay in the hot north end :-) This hot spring is fairly popular with people from Vegas and the surrounding desert, so be advised -- I once tried to do a mud-pack on my face, and found that the mud (scooped from the bottom of the pond) was full of pubic hairs and other hippie effluvia. Yuk!!! (As with most natural hot springs, nude bathing is the custom here.) Otherwise, this is a GREAT relaxing spot to spend the day -- and even to camp out overnight (not allowed at the spring itself, but plenty of BLM land nearby). It's best enjoyed Oct-April...and even better, Nov-Feb -- before the baking hot desert sun cranks temps up into the 110s. Overall, one of my favorite day trips from Vegas. Check it out!! read more

Having your own private hot spring is at the top of my list when I stay in Tecopa. My friends were camping across the street from county baths and line was out the door last weekend. Never could get into the baths due to spring break numbers. Resort room was quiet and clean. Bath towels were thick and bathroom spotless. I chose room with full bath/shower. Price is right and Bistro within walking distance for breakfast. Dark skies with a full moon. No traffic, no crowds. Perfect stay. Will be back. read more

We stayed in cabin #6 - would suggest and stay again. they dont have water - bring water food could be an issue if you are a particular or like to eat at a certain time - bring your own food at the end of amazing hiking and sight seeing my girlfriend and I were able to sit in the natural hot springs off the side of the road and watch the most beautiful sunset. We had the natural hotspring to ourselves, truly a magical moment. Friendliest town on earth! I come here every few months when I need to detox from the electrical hum that is Las Vegas. Each time I visit I notice the place has improved upon itself since the last visit. While the stars are absolutely brilliant out there, the best part has got to be the mineral water. I have no idea how it works but as soon as you get in into the tub your muscles just relax, and stress just kind of melts away. You spend the next day or two in this state of slow-churned bliss, or at least I do, and as a fairly anxious person the reset does a lot for me. Going back next week and I can't wait. Oh and be sure to hit the bistro. The food takes awhile but it is well worth the wait. read more

I feel like there isn't enough reviews about this place and people don't have any idea what this place is really about. We had the cabin #7 which has 1 queen and 1 twin bed. we had 4 girls so 1 slept in twin and the rest in queen. The nights get really cold there so you HAVE TO crank up the heater. The kitchen was like merrr. They have stoves, a sink, a mini fridge, and plates and pots. There were 2 stoves but only the front one worked. Since there is no other places to eat around here (except that bistro) we planned to cook all our meals. It was such a hassle since we only had 1 stove that was working. You should bring like a portable stove if you have one LOL. They give you towels but you should bring A LOTS of your own bath towels. Springs- we went to their "private" springs in the camp and oh man.. the water was lukewarm and the showers weren't working.. DISAPPOINTMENT. Luckily there were springs that was owned by the county (I think, I'm not sure). They are divided to women and men. Those water were so much hotter. They clean the pools on Mondays and Thursdays from 12-4pm. There were also mud pots. The water there was even hotter than the county springs. The mud is a lot cleaner in the morning (we went at 6:30 am) and you get some mud from the bottom of the water. I heard people walked over to some hill to get fresh cleaner mud but it was so cold we didn't want to do that. The mud from the ground was good enough. Overall, I didn't enjoy my stay here. This place is freaking expensive! If I were come back here, I would camp out in tents. One of the grandmas I met at the springs said that the tens are only $15 a night. Just bring your electric blankets and portable heaters and hook it up inside the tent. Bring portable stoves to cook. read more

Hey, it's not fancy but the water is good and the people are nice. If you go ask them where to go for the outdoor, natural, hot springs at the bend in the road. The hot springs at Tecopa are in enclosed rooms, as most of the hot springs in Tecopa are. The drive from Tecopa to Shoshone is beautiful at night. Pop over to the Crowbar in Shoshone for some good food and a drink. read more

*This review is for the Tecopa Hot Springs Resort motel only. The motel room was large and very clean. No mildew smell coming from the air conditioner like in many hotels. We got free wi-fi from the neighboring library, which was good because there are no TV's in the rooms. The room is stocked with clean towels, a mini-fridge and two comfy Bamboo brand queen beds. The main drawbacks were that the bathtub wasn't operational due to a broken drain and there were several spiders in the room. (Yikes!) The shower worked fine however. There is no microwave in the room and cooking is strictly forbidden. Plan your meals accordingly. The hot springs were a bit underwhelming. Two of them reeked of mildew/stale air, leaving only one of them usable. The paint in the tubs was chipped unlike the pictures shown on the website. Still, we enjoyed the private 24-hour access. There was no waiting because we were the only people staying at the motel! Surrounding attractions include the Internet Cafe, China Ranch Date Farm and the town of Shoshone, which is about 9 miles away. There are no convenience or grocery stores in Tecopa, so make sure you bring EVERYTHING you could possibly need. If your car breaks down on the way in, you're screwed. We only passed one car the whole way in and got no cellphone reception along the way. It's best to drive through Pahrump if you're coming from Vegas. This is truly the most deserted place I've ever been...in a good way. read more

Maybe my expectation was little bit higher but still, this is the worst place to stay in. The only part I actually liked about my trip was the mud pit which is not even part of this "resort." I thought I was In a third world country. I stayed in cabin #7, the kitchen was tiny with 2 stoves that turns on its own and doesn't turn when we want it to. Everything in the room is mismatch and looked super cheap. Had dirty concrete floors and disgusting bathroom. The "private hot spring" was not hot enough and their public shower did not work. What we paid for (which was around $250 for 2 nights) is not worth it. We talked to the office lady about our experience and the only thing she said was sorry. Never again will I stay here. P.s. There is no service here so don't expect to call anyone. Only way you could use your phone is when you go to the library, they have free wifi! read more

We spent New Year's Eve here. Overall we had a good time, but I don' t think I would come back. There's not much info about this place, so we didn't really know what to expect. Let me start by saying that Tecopa Hot Springs Resort is a motel with private indoor mineral baths. The reviewers that mention being outside are referring to the natural mudholes located in the city of Tecopa. We stayed in cabin #6. It's rustic. The cabins themselves are not really cabins. More like a motel, since they share a wall. The decor is a mish-mash of thrift store and stuff you find on clearance at Ross. Beds were clean. There's a toilet and a sink, no shower. Floor was dusty concrete. We didn't come for the decor, so this wasn't an issue for us. Kitchen had one burner that worked, a sink, mini fridge, and a few plates, forks, etc.To be on the safe side, count on a fridge and bring everything else you think you might need. The first night was cold (20 degrees or so) and the bathroom was super drafty. None of the windows seemed to close tightly and air came in under the door. We just cranked up the heater and we were fine. There are a total of four small mineral baths. The place was probably about half full and we never had to wait for any of the rooms. Two of the baths are near what they call the "motel" part of the resort. These two pools were hotter, so we hung out here. Only problem was that there wasn't a shower close by. They wanted you to shower by the RV section of the resort and then walk down to the mineral pools. Needless to say, I don't think this was happening at 6pm when it was pitch dark, windy, and 25 degrees outside. If they expect people to shower before getting in the pools, they need to make it convenient. The other two baths were next to the showers (by the RVs), but were freezing. It was indoors, but super drafty and the water was tepid. I think it's realistic to say that during the winter, only two of the pools are usable. This might be an issue if they are full....not sure if that ever happens. Pastel's Bistro was open Wednesday evening until 11pm. They don't have hours posted, so I wouldn't count on them being open. Check-In/Check-Out was easy. We told them that we were arriving late and they made accommodations for us. We left early (before the office opened) and just left the keys in the room. Easy peasy. Bottomline: An okay place to stay if you are passing through, but not worth the trip on it's own. If you live in California, there are plenty other hot springs that are just as inexpensive and better. read more

This place is AWESOME! Hasn't changed in the 15 years since I was here last. Couldn't bring our 7 year old in the common pool due to county rules based on fears of kids peeing in the pool ?! But worked out even better - for a mere $20 we got a private hot spring room for our family. Perfect temperature, friendly staff & about 100 degrees F. What an f'ing shithole. Those of you that rated this place any more than one star are out of your flippin' minds. Lets start with the word "resort"....what a clever way of saying dirt lot with no available water. I found this place on-line, and let me say, whoever their website designer is could out-duel Penn & Teller for fooling people. My wife and I camped in their, and I quote, "full hook-up campground." This wasn't my first time camping, but the dirt patch that they stuck us on had no running water. The entire facility has no potable water. You cant hook-up your trailer, because according to the two fellas that checked us in, the water is corrosive and will immediately begin eating away at your system. Good thing we brought plenty of water with us. So, you must use the toilet in your trailer sparingly because water is sparse...with that in mind, their restrooms, quite often lacked toilet paper. Two basic human functions were problematic, drinking and pooing. Now lets talk about the bathing situation. Two shower/hot spring facilities. One for the men, one for the women. No clothing allowed. So you cant sit in the hot tub with your spouse, and you have to bathe with naked people of the same sex. Kinda strange when you think about it. Dining. They have a bistro. Its open whenever they feel like it, which last week when we were there was seldom. We never caught it when it was open, but every now and again I would see the neon "open" sign come on. So I cant speak as to the food. There are folks that actually live there....I apologize if I have insulted you, but you need to venture out into the world every so often and see what you are missing....running water, running water that you can actually drink, restaurants with posted hours that they keep, toilet paper, open-public-clothed hot springs, people that use cutlery and can participate in actual conversation. By the way, give your web-designer whatever they ask for as far as compensation, he/she earns every penny. read more

So...to be clear I understand that choices are limited in this area and that funky rustic is the theme of the day... However... The rooms desperately need help. A professional cleaning (including bathroom fan and walls) new shower curtains (sans soap and mildew buildup) and a shower head that functions properly. The 'springs' (rooms with cement tubs) also need cleaning and painting (I'm unsure as to what the discoloration a is at the bottom but perhaps rust?) The fire ring, labyrinth, darling cafe (Not owned nor run by the 'resort') were charming features and the young woman with whom we booked was sweet and helpful. The motel its self is Very Overpriced and basically yucky. Again... Please note this review is Nit for the cafe which as a separate business is definitely a 4-5 star... Do not expect a tv in the room nor a crisp look entering the room Expect quiet, sitting outside in calmness, awesome hot spring , great hospitality welcome from Bonnie, a comfortable bed with fluffy thicker towels. I would stay here again for the solitude and hot springs. Bring food and drink as there is a fridge. & ice for $2.50 a bag No restaurants for 8 miles. Unless Fri or Sat they have a Bistro. I'm glad I was there on Thursday because quieter w/out the Bistro open. read more

"Resort" is not really a fair word to use. "Rustic" would probably be more appropriate. However, once you get past that, if you can do rustic, it's not bad, and it's certainly interesting the way they have the hot spring houses set up. The only thing I didn't like what that the hot springs were not coed, so I could not sit in one with my wife. With that said, the staff member I encountered was very helpful and friendly. read more

Relaxing hot spring with a beautiful view. Great place to stay after a long day of exploring. We stayed in the hotel room with access to 3 private soak rooms. The water is hot as it comes out of the pipe but cools down as it sits in the pool. It's more like a warm saline spring than a hot spring in my opinion. Still very relaxing The room was clean and bed was comfortable and ac was excellent. There are also camping spots with access to indoor pool houses. There are restaurants within walking distance or you can bbq outside if you prefer to cook yourself. read more

We stayed in the room which has direct access to the hot spring tub. The room was nice and cozy. It was nice to be in the room with direct access as it was easy to take a shower and walk into the tub semi-naked. We loved soaking in the tub and my body was so relaxed after soaking. We soaked in the tub twice as it was so convenient. We did hear some noisy kids swimming and splashing in the tub and I blamed that for their parents not supervising them. If people are loud, you can hear them and might disturb your sleep. When quiet adults are in the tub, I can hear them open and door and talk but it didn't bother me with my ear plugs. If you like to make sure to have quiet evening, it might be better to stay in the room without direct access. The room with hallway access seems to have beds near the door to hot tub room so not sure whether that's a better option as door could close really loudly if people are not careful when closing the door. I recommend to soak in the tub at early hour as it was nice and clean. I wonder how it can stay clean after hearing those kids splashing and going in the water ( I heard them completing how long they can stay in the water). Again it's up to the parents to control kids behavior. My kids had their hair up and we made sure our children don't make a mess. The tub will remain clean if people respected and kept the place clean. We enjoyed the experience and our body was so relaxed after soaking and I slept really good that night. As it's so far from where we live but we would like to go back when we're in the area again. read more
