Hi, I received a gift certificate from my daughter for Mother's Day and was so excited to go. The atmosphere was great and the sound of the ocean as well as the lighting were perfect; The therapist was very good for the most part, but I left feeling a little frustrated. I am an experienced massage therapist and have certain expectations from AMTA-certified massage therapists. I signed up for a 50-minute Healer session with no extras since it was my first time visiting NOW. I let her know my left hand was sore and asked her not to go too deeply around the small area by my thumb that I showed her and she understood. But then, after working on my back for most of the session, she only worked on my hands and arms for a few minutes each! All other areas were addressed, briefly, BUT my feet, neck, and scalp were completely SKIPPED over. I wanted this to be the best massage I ever had as my daughter has gone to NOW Massage in Los Angeles and raves about it and knows how much I've needed one! It wasn't that. And I'm sad. There were many things the therapist did RIGHT and great, but there was a bit of a disconnect and I left feeling unbalanced rather than balanced, which is the goal of theHealer session. Maybe she just lost track of time - or maybe it is standard policy to skip feet and scalp? All that said, I'm not giving up. I'll come back in a week or so and try a different therapist. read more

It is a beautiful place and I have had some great massage therapists. But... once you get on the membership and unless you use it on a regular basis, you financially lose. They will not allow you to stop the subscription to catch up. I had some extenuating life circumstances and could not get there and so now I get to lose hundreds of dollars which may now be over a thousand for nothing. Just billed to my credit card each month. I feel sorry for the front desk staff, Ive heard them get an earful from upset customers while standing in the lobby. I'll never recommend anyone get the monthly membership, you may save a few dollars on the front end, but you definitely lose big time on the back end, if life happens. read more

Now Massage Review- Felt Hoodwinked! Melissa was a great masseuse! I enjoyed my massage and contemplated a membership until I went to check out. The pricing was MUCH higher than I was quoted when I came in person to book my appointment. A friend had given me a gift card for a massage. I did not know the amount. I asked the young person at the front desk would it cover the whole massage? She looked up the amount on the gift card and told me yes. I said great! I would like to book and upgrade to a longer massage. I asked how much more I would have to pay out of pocket and was told an amount. I was asked to enter my info on an iPad which I did and I returned a few days later for my massage which was lovely by Melissa. I wasn't thrilled about the curtains separating the dark treatment rooms and the lack of appropriate place to put your clothes, coat and belongings- small basket on the floor isn't ideal... I digress... from my main issue. When I went to check out, I was STUNNED when I was told how much I owed! I explained my confusion. I was told it by the lady at the front desk this wasn't THEIR fault and they are not going to eat it. She said she could get the manager but the manager would concur. She spoke to the manager who initially did not come out. She simply said the charges would stand. Then I told her that I had considered membership during my fabulous massage but no longer. She asked why didn't I start with that? That they could activate it now and decrease the cost to member pricing. I told her there wasn't a chance! She said "oh were you waiting to see if we were going to comp you before you made your decision?" The manager did finally step out to speak to me. He simply said the employee may have quoted me the member price difference. The employee I spoke with about pricing was at the front desk at both initial booking and checkout. She did not admit her role in this confusion. I am sure it is a busy place and it is easy to make mistakes. These pricing structures can be VERY deceptive and confusing to new customers and apparently to some staff. I had hoped that by booking in person I could have clarity on my out of pocket costs. Unfortunately not. My dispute is not about the ridiculous high cost I was asked to pay as a "non-member", it is that I was misquoted a price when I booked and I wanted to understand how to have avoided this error. This whole event could have been avoided with better, kinder communication. I won't be returning to NOW. It is a shame. I live about a mile away, I could have been a loyal customer. I'm conflicted on this place. I loved the vibe and loooved the ocean wave sounds being played during the massage. What I didn't love was being pressured to upgrade to a deep tissue massage and then receiving a poor quality massage with the lightest touch. When I asked for a deeper massage the massage therapist said they were doing that already. When you go to pay you have an option to pay tip on credit card but then have to pay an additional fee so that the massage therapist gets their tip right away. My massage was fabulous with Kiana, BUT, I had to listen to what sounded like a 747 coming in for a landing and it was loud. (can't imagine who's bright idea that was to have the ocean roaring when your trying to relax) A massage is suppose to practically put you to sleep with soft music. Needless to say I was annoyed for 175 minutes and cold. I will go back only because Kiana is FANTASTIC & she relieved most of my pain with my sciatica, I will wear headphones next time read more

Bad experience all the way around. Would not recommend if you want a spa experience. Massage rooms are separated by fabric and you can hear what is going on beside you. Changing rooms are not separate and you leave oily and with a paper cup of water. My husband booked it as a gift but they made me pay for it instead of charging his card. Feeling very swindled into the terms of the membership. I chose to start one due to the better price point thinking I may use it a few months and then cancel. I decided it wasn't in my budget and would cancel. They won't let you cancel online, says you have to cancel in person. I asked to cancel in person and they said you can't cancel in person you have to email this contact. I emailed them to cancel and they made me reply again to confirm the cancel. I had tried to use a gift card but noticed that the card I had to put on file was also charged the full cost. I called to clear things up and I was told that with the membership priced massage you are not allowed to use a gift card, which was the whole reason I was there. To cancel the membership I would have to wait 30 days, be billed for another massage and still not get to use my gift card. After a phone call we got it sorted and completely cancelled the membership. $185 + $20 tip, one good massage, 2 emails and a long phone call later. I wish I could rate this place but unfortunately they cancelled my appointment not once (the night before my morning appointment) but twice the second time just 30 min before my appointment when I was already on my way. Their cancellation policy states "Cancellations within 12 hours will incur a 50% charge. No shows or late arrivals (15+ minutes) will result in a canceled appointment and a 100% charge." I went in for a 50-minute Healer massage and asked for the focus to be on my upper body. The massage itself was very good and Marijana's technique is great. Nearing the end, however, she put a hot towel under my neck. I told her the towel felt too hot and she took it, shook it out and put it back under my head, saying that it should cool down fast. When I got home, the area felt tender. It was then that I saw that I had a burn mark on my neck near my hairline. I don't know how they heat their towels, but it scalded me. That should never happen. The only reason I'm giving this two stars instead of one is because the massage itself was good. Unfortunately, the towel ruined the experience for me. EDIT: I'm editing this review because the manager reached out to me to apologize and talk about the experience. They are making it right. I appreciate their concern and believe they'll be making changes going forward. read more

I went for an 80-minute massage at NOW and was not disappointed. They're located in a convenient area of downtown Franklin with a parking garage that's connected. As soon as you walk in NOW, you're relaxed. The entire vibe is clean, friendly and so relaxing. They have ocean sounds going and it was one of the quietest massage spots I've been to! I had Anne for my massage and she is experienced and incredible. She asked me before my massage about troubled spots & if I had any places I didn't want massaged. She then brought me in to her very relaxing room with a heated table (perfect for a cold day). I added on extra heat too! The massage was perfect - not too hard and incredibly relaxing. Anne gave me some tips following the appointment to help with hip flexibility. I would definitely recommend NOW to anyone looking for an affordable, amazing massage experience. I never post reviews, but I am frustrated. A I am in week #4 after surgery from donating a kidney. Laying in bed so much has my neck & hip jacked up. I saw my chiropractor this week, but I wanted to get a massage to just make me feel better. I called The NOW Massage Franklin in Franklin, TN early in the week & let them know my situation & that I didn't want my midsection massaged, but basically the rest. They booked me & said they would treat it like a prenatal massage with me on my side. I just got a call 2 hours before my appointment that the therapist wasn't comfortable massaging me & would be happy seeing me after the 8-week mark. WTF? Is she suddenly a doctor? This was not a management decision but one from the therapist right before the appointment. 1. I am not under any restrictions from my doctor. I have been released for "other" much more intrusive things. 2. I wasn't having her touch anywhere on my midsection just neck/shoulders, arms, legs, hips. I stated this multiple times. I am smart enough to not have her touch anywhere that hurts. 3. My incisions are healed, and again, I wasn't having her go anywhere near them. I am not in pain just aching in the areas I wanted massaged. 4. If this was going to be an issue, they should have told me the day I booked not two hours before, so I could have booked elsewhere. Now, it's too late to book somewhere else, because it's Friday afternoon & the weekend. Places are already booked through the weekend. 5. They would have charged me for canceling two hours before an appointment, but it's okay for them to do it without compensating me. It's not like my therapist was sick or had an emergency. She just decided that she didn't want to massage me. 6. The owner would not even get on the phone with me. I was not acting irate or anything. I just wanted to express my disappointment to him & find a resolution. He would only relay information through the receptionist. I know this may sound like 1st world problems, but cannot explain how much I was looking forward to just being pampered a little bit after going through recovery from the kidney donation. Why am I writing this? To share that this is not a business I will be supporting in the future & if you live in Franklin, I wanted you to be aware of their customer service & hope you consider this when choosing a place for yourself. read more

I've been here several times and the model is that the therapist comes out, sometimes a little late, asks a bunch of questions, takes you back so you can change, then eventually comes back in. You end up starting 8-10 minutes in to your allotted massage time and then every single time they've ended just a little early. Be prepared that when you sign up for an hour and a half, part of that time is chatting, changing before and after, and then flat out starting a couple minutes late and ending early. Parking is difficult so sometimes the only option is the paid lot. Then if you don't have cash to tip, the system they use charges you extra to leave a tip. The actual massage therapists are good, but you end up feeling both nickel and dimed AND gypped - which is inherently not relaxing. Non-member fees are crazy high so it's not a great option for those who can't commit to monthly massages. Gave an extra star bc the massage was decent and the facility is nice - but I don't like their business model at all. read more

I love the ambiance of this place, however, I probably will not be back. My first prenatal massage was at 30 weeks pregnant and it was great, with Melissa I believe was her name. I booked an appt again for a prenatal at 37 weeks with a different masseuse, Sophia, and did not have the same experience. I mentioned I had a lot of tension and where my pressure points were, and I actually left MORE tense after my massage than when I walked in, because she was not applying much pressure at all, and not once asked me how it was or if she needed to go harder / lighter. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the front desk afterwards, I was still charged full price for my massage. Which is why I won't be returning. If you want to keep your customers and make sure they leave happy, at least cut them a discount on their visit or apply one to the next. I paid $165 for a massage my husband honestly could have given me at home. read more

I am elated to have enjoyed time here. My massage therapists was absolutely AmAZiNg! Wish I had of come sooner while in Nashville. From check in to check out I received Grade A service! Secondary to Covid I hadn't had a massage in over a year so it was really nice to get this amazing treatment as a sort of "welcome back to life!" I have been enjoying my visits to the Now in Franklin for nearly a year. I go once to twice a month and always feel better after my visits. I enjoy the ambiance from the signature scented candles to the very dim massage space with the sound of waves seemingly moving through the room...it is all very relaxing. The staff is courteous & attentive, and most importantly my masseuse Hayes gives phenomenal massages. He is highly skilled and in tune with any specific issues I am having. I have also received massages from three other masseuses and they have all been very good. When you are ready for your appointment they walk you in a room talk to you some about your expectations and concerns. Next you go into a dim room with a rushing sound of waves, it was immediately disarming. Every room has these very long heavy curtains with thick rope you use on a boat/ship. I had the opportunity to have an 80 minute massage today at NOW and it was absolutely wonderful. From the moment you walk in and smell that Jasmine Coconut scent from their signature candle, you are put at ease. The rooms are draped with canvas and when you lay down you are truly transported. The sound of ocean waves and soft light are perfect. The massage Therapist i had was great-perfect pressure and got all of the knots out. Wonderful customer service as I was leaving as well. I have 2 suggestions-scented eye pillow when facing up and spa sheets (Comphy sheet brand). All in all, great experience and can't wait to go back! read more

Let's start by saying, I usually go to The NOW MASAAGE in Houston, Tx. I booked a whole weekend around coming up to Franklin for this massage. I am Army, and I lm currently at Fort Knox, Ky for a couple months for an assignment. I called and booked this appointment maybe 2 mnths prior. I want a Deep Tissue 50min with an experienced Therapist. I got a young lady, super sweet. Went over I really wanted to focus on my neck & shoulder area, for my really bad tension and also my lower back. And wanted deep tissue w/the stretch massage. We agreed. Started off with lots of rubbing no pressure, never touched my lower back. It was mostly the my waist area, no where near my lower back. Then was turned over. This where it gets worst. Not sure what the technique was, tried to go with it u till my neck started to cramp and spasism. I had to stop her... I did ask if she was somewhat new, she said she's been there 4mths Customers who ask for Deep tissue really look forward to the relief. I just hate I spent money around this weekend and leaving in worst pain. The owner did agree to not charge. I just ask the establishment to take a deeper dive into who you vet for your deep tissue licensed therapist. read more

The Now is unlike any spa I have ever been to. The smell when you walk in of the Jasmine and Coconut candles is amazing. The set up is incredible. It is like you have been transported to cliffs on the ocean. It is not your typical spa, which is my favorite thing about it. They are solely focused on the massage, which makes the experience unlike any I have experienced anywhere else. 50 min massage cost me $160 out the door and it was SO UNDERWHELMING and cut short. My massage therapist was very sweet, I would like to start with that. However, it started at 9am and I was back in the lobby fully dressed by 9:49. It was a prenatal massage, and I told my therapist where I needed the most attention and that I would like it as firm as possible. When I booked the appointment I was told she was the best for deeper pressure so I specifically booked with her. I get massages regularly (about 2 x's a month). When we started she told me she was unable to give firm prenatal massages "because I'm pregnant". Which is not valid. My sciatica wasn't even worked on, which is where I said I needed it the most. If you're spending this amount of money consider going to South Hall. Unfortunately this was a total waste of money and I'm still so achy - I'm writing this just after leaving the spa. read more
