I get that this genre attracts a unique crowd but the extremely socially awkward staff here just really can turn someone away. On many occasions, I'll see eight employees in the store with perhaps two customers. A few of those workers are practically superglued to the floor behind the counter. Most of the staff seem regularly engaged in conversations which each other. No inquiries to the customer about assistance, no engagement, no product knowledge, just a lot of people collecting paychecks. The owner himself is somewhat tactless with his communication. Seems to constantly want to prove he knows a little bit more about something than the customer, and when it's clear the customer is highly knowledgeable about a subject at hand, he shuts down completely. It's just a completely awkward vibe.

It's been a very long time since I've been in a Hallmark and I'm so glad I went! I was greeted…read morepretty much when I walked in by the friendliest woman. It was before Easter and she told me about a couple of items and said to ask if I needed any help. It was earlier in the day and only a few other people shopping. The store has so much to check out and all the displays are colorful and makes you want to browse. I found a couple plushies that were cute and some cards of course. I would have loved to browse even longer but I had an appointment. When I went to pay, the same woman asked me if I had a Hallmark Rewards account, I told her I think I did but it has been a very long time since I would have used it. She tried to find me but didn't so she signed me up. She pleasantly explained their rewards program and I got to pick out a cute mini card. I wish I remembered the woman's name. She was the perfect example of great customer service! Since I signed up I have received emails for a free card and other discounts. I'm definitely glad I went back and look forward to shopping more at Hallmark!
