I want to like darkside because it's so close to my house, but every time I've bought cards from there it has just been god awful. I have ordered online plenty of times, and it takes more than three days for them to pull 4 to 5 cards in the middle of the week. Their competitors will pull 50 to 60 for a same day pick up. They do have a great card selection though. If I can't find it at my main store, dark side will have it, but it'll take 72 hours for them to pull it. The customer service is awful. They will be rude over the phone and to your face. With new card stores opening up in the area I will have to be pretty desperate to order from darkside. I love shopping local, but if I can't find a card in the future I think I'd rather order online then go to darkside. read more

Amazing selection of MTG and other games that are much harder to find for me in Los Angeles County. The staff were friendly and helpful and allowed me to have a positive experience. Prices of individual cards and merchandise seemed fair in my view, at least in comparison to values I'm used to. A Haven for TCG Players This corner store is a good store for trading card game fans/collectors. They specialize in several games, however, you will quickly notice that Magic and Pokemon dominates the store. This is a great place to challenge other players in their weekly TCG games/tournaments and can be quite busy during those times as their dedicated play rooms can be seen with players throughout the day. They offer singles and packs/boxes which is about market/above market prices. The singles are at market price which is a great service. LGS overcharging for a brand new Pokemon set is not a nice business practice. I prefer other LGS like 888 or knight and day games.

The Pokemon selection when I visited was very minimal. They did have some chase cards from earlier era's which was nice. The conditions were NM and LP. They didn't let you haggle much on the price. Be prepared to wait a little they do not have much staffing. The staff member looked offended and annoyed that I ask and even showed him the prices from TCG player and price chart. The location is a few from South Pointe Hotel. You should stop by you may never know what you might find. read more

While many experiences can be positive, a lot of experiences can be super negative. They often look genuinely annoyed to fulfill your order, their website promises a quick turnaround, but often times it can take a week plus to get an order. While I understand business can be busy, don't make a promise that you can't keep. My other issue was three times, completing a purchase to only find out at arrival that they didn't have a card and charged me anyway. If I didn't check my order I would've walked away having paid for a card that wasn't there. While they provided a refund, the fact I have to discover the mistake is a problem for me. I have also had my email come in to pick up my order only to have them not be able to locate it or refilled an order I submitted a month prior (this only happened once). Shop is clean, prices are very fair. Their events seem to be well attended and their loyalty program, where you get a punch card for events you attend, is pretty cool. I cannot, however, recommend purchasing from a place that makes it seem like me using their service is a problem. read more

I came in to Darkside Games with a deck list worth over 300 dollars and was prepared to spend money. At the store the counter person was snobby and not friendly. He told me that their staff were involved in games and they werent going to get my cards if I didn't already submit the deck through their online system. I asked if it would be possible to pick my own cards like I can at my local shop, and they told me no.. because people steal. They must be doing a GREAT business if they can afford to offend people, throw away a 300$+ sale, PLUS whatever other business I might have given them down the road. They were lazy and unnecessarily rude. If I'm going to spend the time to submit a deck online, I'll just go to card kingdom and skip the hassle and the attitude. read more

Came over to Dark Sports today because the hours prompted on maps says 9am (pictures attached). Only to come to a locked up store, fine whatever, I walk over to their counterpart store Dark Games to relay the store hours are improperly listed on Maps and to fix them to save the hassle for future customers. Shelby the associate was very rude and defensive arguing with me saying that it says 10am on desktop which wasn't even relevant (again pictures attached). He then continued to tell me to leave and kicked me out. No apology nothing at all just just eat dirt, get out and wait till 10am, terrible customer service. I was trying to help the store and other future customers out from having a experience like this. If he's not a owner I'd look for another associate to handle the counter at your shop. Kicking people out because you want to cling to ignorance is border line insane. read more

The whole point of traveling to the store is to pick up the cards on the same day. If the stores goal is to divert customers from visiting in person and just ordering off of cardkingdom.com than mission accomplished. I cant imagine how long it takes to pull cards from inventory? You would think you would prioritize a customer who is actually in the store ready for pick up-over customers who aren't even physically in the store. read more

I've been here a a bunch of times over the last few years. They have done a great job expanding their store. If your looking for Magic the gathering cards they have quite a lot in stock. The staff has always been very helpful and friendly to me when I go in. I play commander for mtg and have been able to pick up a few casual games with other friendly players who play there. They have prereleases and do tournaments as well, but I haven't attended any of those. Definitely recommend this shop. read more

So, my kids, 6 and 3 years old, have "discovered" Pokémon cards. Darkside Games has a nice section of Pokémon cards that can be purchased a la carte, which is perfect for my fledgling Pokémon enthusiasts. Cards can be had for as cheap as 2 for $1 and upwards. They also have unopened packs for reasonable prices. Since the kids aren't really playing the game and just appreciate the cards, I didn't care about the rarity, so the cards were perfect for me to purchase for them. On top of that they treated my kids like gold, and gave them a few freebies which had them reeling! Great service from the staff so far and they're all pretty approachable. BEWARE!- Check your seals before purchasing! Purchased multiple Pokémon booster packs as gifts. Got home to find out they were tampered with. Back seals were opened. Once you lifted the flap on the pack, the entire deck was showing. Not even a good job at hiding the scam. Shame on me for not checking them, lesson learned.
