Come to find out, Japan produces 80 percent of the world's small scale plastic model sets. It is centered around the city of Shizuoka. The "idea" of model design and making is a cherished art form in this particular city . Many small scale sets and designs are available for an individual to purchase and enjoy. The art and concept of origami design paper can be found here too. Are you ready to be creative and make something out of this imaginative state? This place is like a 40 min drive for me and will 100% drive this whenever they get a new kit in that I like or new paints. The big draw for HobbyOne for me is their paint and tool section. They have the largest selection of Mr Hobby and Tamiya paints/tools out of everyplace I've gone to in Vegas. Everything is reasonable prices with a massive well organized selection. There's a selection of gunpla markers, liners, brushes, paint accessories, little metal decals, water slide sheets, decal sheets and more. It's the little things that bring me back. On top of the large selection of gunpla customization; they have a wide array of kits ranging from entry level to perfect grade. They also have wood kits like little book end kits and more. They have a few gacha machines by the entrance as well with some cute items and a selection of Japanese accessories like key rings, stationary and more. They also offer a workshop to learn how to paint your gunpla or minis (they other 3D printing services also!) you can learn how to paint kits yourself or commission someone to paint for you! Even if you live on the other side of the city, I highly recommend coming here especially if you're looking to customize your minis/gunpla kits :) read more

This was my first time checking out this place, I walked in and there was little to nothing that caught my eye in store. Very disappointing.

Fantastic! I always find something I'd like to hobby with at Hobby One! The staff is amazing, the store is always in superb shape, it's a quiet location where eager hobbyists go for the best in town. There is often a tournament occurring or being organized. The social media sites are up to date. The selection of Gunpla Gundam Plastic Models is the best around. I've often asked for help and they are always willing to supply the materials I need for my upcoming projects. There is a huge assortment of Tamia and Bandai. There are Entry Grade, High Grade, Master Grade, Real Grade, and Perfect Grade always in stock. There are wooden dioramas, there are racing kits, there are car models, boat and ship glue together kits, there are metal build kits, there is painting, glue, air sprays, and decals galore. There is a boneyard section for mash up parts, there is a consignment sale shelf now. There is Snacks from Japan. There are built, panel lined, sanded, and decals kits for sale and every combination in between with all the supplies to build any level of any combination you're into. The hours are great and the location is easily accessible with great parking. EVERY time I've visited I have located something that would increase my love of Hobbyone and hobby craft in general!! read more

The store had a good collection of model kits and supplies, even got one myself! However, the customer service left a sour taste in my mouth. I was with my boyfriend who doesn't know anything about this hobby and was just there for me. I picked out something I wanted for a while because I am pretty passionate about the series and model kit community. I was dragging my boyfriend around because I was so excited in this store, I chose the figure myself, held it, and went up to pay for it. When I went to check out, the employee there made small talk with my boyfriend regarding the figure. Constantly asking him questions and opinions that he couldn't even understand, ignoring me the whole time--not even making eye contact nor facing me. My boyfriend was even trying to relay the questions/opinions mid-conversation to me so that it was obvious I was the one the employee should be talking to. It was such an awkward moment for me and my boyfriend. Normally, I don't leave bad reviews but I felt pretty unwelcome here and don't think I'll be coming back. I'm a woman who enjoys this hobby but being completely looked over was something I don't appreciate. I am the client, not my boyfriend. This is a tiny hidden gem tucked away behind the plaza. This place has so much to offer especially if you enjoy building things so Gundam lovers, this place is for you! I love their selection and they also seem to host workshops throughout the week so it's a nice place to get together and build / shade experiences with those having the same hobbies. I ended up purchasing a Yugioh millennium puzzle build kit and a few other small items. Glad we found this place! read more

Very welcoming! You can learn to airbrush at this place! As long as you bring your model and paints, on the weekends. A lot, at such a place! After the first time coming here, I instantly became a regular! I love this store and love the big variety of gunpla kits they have. I just started building because I'm always looking for something entertaining to do and i don't like going out much so now I'm a bit addicted lol I'm at this store about every week now and the salesman there is super friendly and helpful. I'm pretty amateur and new to this stuff and barely started last month so don't judge my basic photos lol but i plan to try and paint my gundams soon hoping i don't mess up I can't wait to go back after i finish the gundam I'm currently working on. read more

Best selection of Gundam kits in town! Very nice and knowledgeable staff. Not only do they have model kits produced by Bandai, but they also have Tamiya scale models , Tamiya Mini 4WD, Kotobukiya Kits, and various types of model cars. Saw this store when I was driving down the street, I saw the word Japan and hobby so I knew they had to had some good things in the store. When I arrived they had the door locked and a note on the front door saying to knock on the door if they didn't see anyone behind the counter. Reason being for that is to limit how many people go inside the store since it is a small store. honestly I was happy with how they're treating covid handling so I wasn't mad about it. When I went inside the store was very clean and overall very nice setup. I took a while to look around to see what they had in shop and honestly was surprised that they had a lot of things I couldn't get anywhere else in Vegas! Their prices were very reasonable and probably the best I've seen around town compared to other stores. I did end up buying a model kit from them. It was a master grade with a good scale size for a fair price. Overall I was very pleased with my visit today and definitely will go back soon when I'm finished with my kit! read more

I saw this place while shopping for bread in the same area went in and the first impression was that the place is very small not to compare to Tokyo store but everything they have is quality everything they have is authentic I tried their ice cream was amazing and they have soda from Japan which is also very good I bought a few figures and a model to put together. Now this was a pleasant surprise and very welcome. Now Las Vegas can say that it has a true Japanese hobby store!!! I first met them at spring festival in 2017, and I remember the woman from the store asking if this city would be good to do business and of course I said yes. Now that it has come true I'm just in awe of the store. So much collection. All different types of model kits, a HUGE selection of gundam model kits. A+. The prices are more than fair and the customer service is superb! A must visit store for all the Gundam fans. This place has very completed lines of Gunpla models. They even have limited edition models from Japan Gundam Base. They also have traditional models from Tamiya, Hasegawa... The price is good compare to online store. Small excellent shop with an immense variety in gunpla including those that are typically sold out at other stores, usually at least 2 of every model I could think of from the past 4 years or so plus more. The prices are close to those listed on amazon (after you factor in tax). They carry the entire assortment of gundam pens for panel lining. They also have a lot of other anime products. Honestly if you are getting into gunpla, or hunting down a specific one without wanting to wait on delivery, I would recommend visiting this store. read more

This is a very nice store. If you're looking for Gundam and the latest Star Wars model kits, this is the place to go. There is a huge variety and the prices are what you'd expect. I was looking for Space Battleship Yamato models. They had a few, one that I will definitely buy later on, but not the mecha collection. Then again, those are hard to find unless you buy online. This store has been very good to me since I started doing builds, and a lot of the prices are reasonable for the kits and tools. Great store, love it. However, asking some questions is kind of a mission sometimes I've noticed. And I'm not trying to bash this establishment or it's employees by any means. I will say I just wish there was a little more knowledgeable information when I ask questions about repairs. I stopped in this morning to pick up a new kit. I'm currently in progress on a kit and had lost a piece and wondered if they sold parts for that particular kit/ build. The response I received was "Did you buy it here?" And my automatic thought is whether or not I did is kind of irrelevant if I had to really think about it. And I personally just don't see that as good business and not extremely helpful if I had to be honest. Unfortunately I can't rate 5 stars on this one as much as I'd like to. But this review isn't to discourage anyone from visiting this business. Great selection of models/ kits, huge diversity, best spot in town to find them versus other model selling locations in town.
