Great service, I love the two story layout of the store. I always shop here during the holidays when I'm in town.

I needed up with a pair of skis and boots for around 250 which was great. The lady that helped me out explained the difference between alpine, XC and touring skiing and the advantages/disadvantages. I ended up going with XC skis cause of the low price to entry point. I'm glad I didn't read the negative yelp reviews before going here, as I found the shopkeeper to be very honest . I did buy one pair of ski pants that were a little speedy for me, but I'd rather support a brick and mortar from folks with good values that eBay or Amazon . I do need to point out how great they are at assisting folks even when super busy. When I came in there may have been 30-40 shoppers in the store, they assisted everyone with the same enthusiasm and professionalism. I'm also new to skiing and asked at least 50 or more questions before my purchase, they never became testy, short tempered or irritated with me. And the shopkeeper knew so much about skiing. Maybe I was amazed cause I'm a novice but I feel like I'm ready for the snow now, thanks again I'd give this stores solid 9.7 out of 10, thanks to the people here.

I've been shopping online from Stio for a decade. So nice to see their actual store. I stopped by…read moreto check out it. Very well lit, clean and organized. The two that worked the counter are adventure athletes themselves. The guy I spoke to is an avid long distance mountain trail runner. He was not just knowledgeable about the Stio gear but also How to use the gear. By comparison, I stopped by the Arcteryx company store in SoCal. Sadly, the Canadian brand appears to have ventured far from the their rugged roots. The store felt elitist and pretentious. Stio is the opposite. Same quality without the stuffy atmosphere. Stio is the Anti-Arcteryx brand you want.

This review is about the vomit, dog poop and trash in front of this store. Back in Oct. 2022…read moresomeone threw up in front of the store. Now 4 months later it has turned into a nice red stain on the sidewalk. There is always dog poop smeared all over the sidewalk. Probably from people not picking up after their pets, then it gets stepped in and tracked everywhere. Lastly, there is usually a plethora of trash in their planters. Old masks, bottles, cigarettes, etc... I let the employees know about the vomit right away and a month ago I sent a note to their customer service but obviously they don't care what the outside of their store looks like. I cannot vouch for their products. They seem nice. But for a store that sells jackets for $700, I would think keeping the outside of the store as nice as the inside would be a priority. I guess not.

After I finished my cardiac rehab sessions with my hospital I signed up with a local gym and…read morestarted working out. I guess I overdid it and started having some knee pain. It wasn't bad, but I wanted some kind of a knee stabilizer, so I went to Dick's. This was at the beginning of the holiday shopping rush. I was not having a good day... besides knee pain and my lower back hurting I have foot problems, and so I kind of hobbled into the store. I was promptly greeted and directed to the correct aisle, where I found a nice selection of knee braces. I chose two that looked promising, and I asked a nearby employee if I could take them out of the box and try them on, and he encouraged me to do so. And then he did something that absolutely astounded me. He got me a camp chair so that I could sit down right there in the aisle and try them on. They both fit, and I wasn't sure which was best, and he told me I could try them both out and return the one I didn't want. That small act of kindness, getting the chair for me, was really appreciated, and I will never forget that. And I had no problem returning the unchosen brace after the holiday season was over (to avoid the traffic around the mall).

Dicks (autocorrected to "sucks" lol...) is the type of store everyone loves...why? Because it's a…read morebig box (sporting) store and carries pretty much everything someone who is active needs. In the past couple years, I hate how Dicks added their political views to everything. I just wish businesses and whatnot would stfu about their political views. I don't shop at a place because they're super conservative or if they ...super liberal. I go to businesses if they have what I want. So when places add their two cents, specifically on anything political...it ruins them for me. I know I'm not alone in this. Seriously, shut up. We wanna buy sneakers or a water bottle, we dgaf what side of the aisle you stand on. Ok that's my rant on that lol. I rarely go here. This was my 2nd time in this store since it opened. They opened 6 years ago, maybe? I went in right after and then this time. I was at Petco next door and needed to check out their weightlifting belts. Reasonable prices on that but everything else....priiiiicey! If you shop at Dicks, you know this tho. Checked out some of their sale items and if you can get something on sale (depending on what it is) their prices can be pretty good. Big 5 is next door...right next door. The huge corporate stores love to do that to the smaller stores like Big 5. Big 5 is a better store, but of course they don't carry as much. Their prices are certainly better and makes happy this location hasn't been forced out because of the giant Dicks (lol) right next to it. There's a Big 5 minutes from my house too, so I go there more. Dicks is across from the mall so if I am In that area I may think of going in, but like I said, this was the 2nd time in 6 years that I've been in that store. I just don't care to go in that much lol. Staff was friendly tho and super helpful. So they have that going for them. Aside from that, I know this review won't help anyone lol. You either love this place or just don't care about it. Everyone knows it exists so yeah, you either go or don't. So many just order online which when it comes to places like Dicks, it's fine otherwise I love supporting small mom and pop/local shops. Ok I'm done writing about this place lol. If you've read this far, thanks! If not, I understand lol. Thanks, Yelpederers! Cheers!
