Spent 4 hours over 2 days at the nerd store while visiting the UNC campus. Lots of Warhammer, lots of board games and a super inclusive family community vibe. I wish the stores back in So. First time going to this store and it seemed pretty cool, I decided to buy a pokemon pack but left disappointed when I found out it was re-sealed. Both the top and bottom corners of the pack were slightly opend giving it a sketchy look but looked passed it, what gaved it away is the code card that looked printed and was of poor quality. Im not saying all their packs are re-sealed but the one I bought was. Hopefully its not true for all their pokemon pack merchandise. read more

Trying to purchase an item from this location, they have a way to buy items on a website but they don't ship anything apparently. I called and offered to pay $50 for them to ship a single pack of cards 2 states over and was told no. Talk about not wanting someone's business. Certainly didn't offer any solutions to try and help out a fellow gamer either. Not a good look for a small business. read more

I served jury duty this week, and on my lunch break decided to go for a walk. (Ok, fine, I was playing Pokémon.) My wanderings took me to the Nerd Store, and since I never turn down an excuse to buy comics, I went inside. What immediately struck me was the amount of children's comics and graphic novels at the front of the store. Amulet, Smile, and most of the other novels I've read and recommended to my students were there, and that's just freaking awesome. I always have to hunt down new books in stores, but here they were grouped together, making it super easy to browse and pick up something good. My eyes were then drawn to the board and card games, and at that point the fellow working came over to see if I needed help, and offered his opinion on a few of the games. I appreciated that, and I snagged a copy of Monty Python Flux for my sister. He then apologized for the state of the back half of the store, saying they were rearranging the comics. Despite the disarray, I had no problem finding a few fun reads to take home. Great service, and great little shop! read more

A nice establishment ready to cater to people who indulge in table-top games, and provide ample number in comics to boot. Manga are also included in that selection, however it is limited -- you'll likely find something you weren't expecting, but not what your looking for. I was pleasantly surprised to find BONE HEAD Vol. 1+2 in the comic section, a very niche image comic, to give an idea for what odds and ends you have the potential to find here. Though I don't partake in table-tops outside of extremely niche ones (Scott Pilgrims Precious Card Game) they offered and allowed demoing of plenty TTG's. I was extremely excited to visit the nerd store I've heard a lot of great things but sadly, as I went there everything was overpriced or triple the market value I would personally not recommend buying or selling cards here but I would say the service was five out of five! just want example of this I was trying to sell a Charizard staff card which on their website was priced as $1500 so I visited there and they offered me a lowly $370. I was mildly upset because they were going to sell it for nearly 4 times as much. I would recommend eBay or marketplace to sell cards and or buy them. read more

The Nerd store is a mix of Pop culture items, board games, card games and comics. I'm very much on the "Do one thing and do it well" type of person. The breadth of what is available at the Nerd store is huge. How deep does it go? I can't quite gauge that. We visited the store during the Art festival in Greeley. There has been one game that I have been looking for, which is Star Trek Settlers of Catan, and they had it. It was just expeeensssiveee Looking around I saw quite a few comic titles I was familiar with. If you need games supplies, or comics, this place should have what you need. read more

I live in Fort Collins, but whenever I am in the Greeley downtown area, I go to The Nerd Store to get my pop culture fix. I play HeroClix and they are one of the only stores in the Northern Colorado area that still sell single game pieces. I am writing this review on a day that I am visiting the store once more, and I have to say they have a good selection of games and comics in the store. They even sell used video games and retro game accessories in a limited capacity. I have never sat down to play a game in the store, but they have the space for many people to play towards the back of the building. Its a spacious store and the staff are helpful, if a bit busy most of the time because people shop there and there is always traffic in the store when I visit. If you happen to be in Greeley and you want to grab some new comics and/or board games to play, this is the store to go to. read more

A great place to meet up with friends in downtown Greeley. Plenty of space in the back to play a game you brought (or bought!). I probably would give this place 5 stars if I were really into comics, and sci-fi merchandise at present, but they're more my friends' passions than my own. The Nerd Store deserves a nice welcome. As you pass by don't be fooled by the clothes in one of the storefront windows. Games, comics, manga seem to be the central focus. The clothing is incidental. The Nerd Store sponsors game nights. There are many tables suitable for small games, but when I visited there I saw no large tables for miniatures; perhaps that will come later. It was nice to see some uncommon games among the more usual ones, and some unexpected magazines among the more familiar ones. As an addition to our way-downtown, as a store providing merchandise and activities not offered by any other store in the immediate vicinity, as a center and stimulus for social gatherings and live interaction (as opposed to solitary videogames), I see the Nerd Store as a possible positive fun addition to our community. An invitation to meet Greeley's local comic artist Cody Kuehl was part of The Nerd Store's grand opening. My reason for rating this business only three stars is that the inventory for a start-up seeking to attract customers and players is way too small, advertising and marketing is weak, and the store front windows are being used very ineffectively. I sincerely hope that the next couple of months will warrant a glowing update. Time, marketing, sales, inventory, activity schedules, and community awareness will tell. Nov. 28, 2013. I have to say, as a person who grew up in Greeley, and who is into nerdy things, The Nerd Store has really brought the nerd culture into this city in a good way. Every time I have been in there, from when it opened until now, the selection has been great. It is all organized in a sensible order and it is all easy to find. I love the space for games and gathering and I like that the store really invites people of all demographics to enjoy gathering together and playing games. I also am very impressed with the way The Nerd Store has put some focus on encouraging children to get into comic books, cards, games, social interaction and being proud to enjoy such things. I also must commend the fact that they bag and board your comic books for you to help you on collecting those too! A great addition to a revamped downtown Greeley and a must visit! read more

I had been meaning to come down here for quite some time, but was nervous I would drop too much on comics/games for my son and husband. They have comics that my son identifies with and good prices, both a win in my book. I loved that they have a Doctor Who section! They have a family game night, which is something my family likes doing, and you can bring your own games or try out theirs. Like the rating says when you select the number of stars - Meh. I've experienced better. The back-log for comics is lacking and still looks like it's under construction. The comics up front just seem to be one big mess. It was fine for what I needed - something to do one night - but I'm not freaking out to go back any time soon. read more

I took my two daughters there a few days ago to start them in Pokemon. Everyone was great there and they gave us more help than I could have hoped for. They are open to any and all questions, and I feel comfortable that they will continue to help my girls as they learn the game. Lots of fun stuff, and a great vibe. read more

The store is very interesting to say the least and the staff is very friendly and informative(me being a new player to Magic) I gave this place a three becuase I feel there could be some improvements, Such as the website being updated to show more stock such as Card sleeves, bundles, and Card cases. I also feel that their selection in singles for Magic could be expanded they never have the cards I am looking for and the prices on the singles are higher than average even the basic rare cards are never available. read more
