The shop is spread across several rooms and the only concern with this setup is handicap accessibility, as the rooms are a little narrow. Stock is spread across the rooms, hallways, and closets. It can seem maze like but is clean and well organized. New pull selection is good, with racks everywhere. Short boxes are also everywhere, with an excellent selection that has surprising depth. Has a fair Manga selection, not usual for comic shops. Perhaps the most unique feature of this shop is the paperback book selection, with a surprising amount of stock. I did not see any Graphic Novels when exploring the shop. The only comment I would make is some of the stock seemed dated and possibly a sale is needed to thin out less relevant items. Owner knew his shop well, answered every question we asked, and showed us the location of every item we asked about. What was more impressive was he knew the local comic shop scene, as many shop owners do not. I will be returning to this impressive comic shop that arguably in the extended Harrisburg area could be the best.

It's located INSIDE of State Theater Vintage Emporium, which is an adventure in itself. Walk in the doors, go up the stairs and its the first "big" fixture/box shop on the left. They carried everything and anything anime and Japanese from plush, figures, cards/card games to even straight from Japan video games and trinkets for Ita Bags. They even had some Pocky, Ramune and other Japanese snacks for purchase. I think we saw the owner restocking as we perused and he was very personable mentioning he could answer any questions we had. Prices were in line/if not better than ones I see at conventions and online. Overall a great place to stop if you're in the market for current or vintage Japanese goods.

Beware of this guys business practices whether it's at his store or if you see his eye sore of a…read morevending display at shows around the DMV. You'll know it's him when you see mountains of overpriced product and cards scattered around with very little attention to detail. He's by far the most scummy and self-righteous person I have come across during my Pokemon collecting journey. He's too lazy to accurately price his cards so instead he uses zero organization skills to place cards worth less than $2 each across various binders at absurd prices of $4 or even $8 per card. Don't worry he'll cut you a deal if you buy 3 for $20. What a steal! Avoid this guy at all costs. You can find better priced and higher quality product from virtually anywhere else.

I've tried an RCA to HDMI converter, and get no signal. I also bought a universal HDMI cable that has the connection that plugs into the N64, SNES, Game Cube, and Super Famicon. I get the same thing no signal. I tried an older tv with RCA jacks on it, tried the RCA cables, and nothing. I'm really disappointed as I was looking forward to some retro gaming.

Alchemist's Cove Games & Comics moved into its new building along Route 61 in December 2025 after…read morebeing previously located in Schuylkill Haven. They had already expanded their space at the old location once, and this new location continues on that path. The first floor has all of the gaming and comic products, while the second floor has the gaming space. Store has a pretty large selection of card and tabletop gaming items. New pull comic book selection is good, with longboxes mostly containing newer books. Graphic novels are spread across several bookshelves and the selection is good. They have a handful of other things like Pop Vinyls. Overall, Alchemist's Cove Games & Comics is arguably the best comic book shop for several surrounding counties outside of the Allentown metro area, and continues to grow. It's worth a stop when in the area.

After checking out the card store, we saw a game store on the other side of the building. Since we…read morehad already parked we decided to check it out. Entrance is a little tricky to get too so park on the side near the card store and walk around to the front of the building. Upon entering we were greeted with a HUGE selection of games, everything from NES to current Xbox, PS5 and Switch. Even had some cabinet games you could try out. Behind the counter they had some harder to find titles and some tables between rows was like a mini nerd yard sale with figures, books, crafts, etc. Husband picked up a gunpla model kit from 1980s, I got pokemon pinball for my game boy and some DS games I had been looking for. Price wise was about what I expected for what I got, seemed about middle of the road. On the left side of the building is a DVD section and fairly expansive comic book selection. Husband looked over what they had but nothing really stood out, we mostly came for the retro games. Guy behind the counter was super helpful and friendly, answering any questions we had about their stock and condition of the games. If we're in the area I plan on stopping back in and seeing what new stock they have on hand.
