The staff are welcoming, helpful, and go above and beyond to make this place feel as much like a community as a place to shop. I once told the owner I wanted to try out EPP and she gave me a little tutorial on the spot and helped me round up all the supplies I would need. Nice fabric selection with a mix of lines from more modern Ruby Star Society to more traditional. Very cute notions (more stock in the back - so ask if you don't see something you need)! I was greeted by the owner's assistant, Kate, who gave me an overview of the shop and some of the classes they offer in the back, like coptic bookbinding, collage, crafting, and self-motivation classes. They also have a meet up group called The Grown*Up Girls Club where you can meet up with other like-minded individuals and explore new art/craft/maker techniques. The Club meets the second Sunday of every month. The Collage Cafe is a newer business located in an adorable corridor mixed with other art-inspired shops. The guy working the store greeted me and let me know to holler for him if I needed help, but otherwise let me alone to wander. I took it to another framing service and they came up with thoughtful resolutions to more artfully preserve my investment--unfortunately I don't feel confident continuing to work with Artists Frame Service.
