Kyla was amazing to work with. She really took the time to understand what I was looking for and matched me with the perfect family right away. She supported me through every step of the process and genuinely had my best interest in mind. Highly recommend! read more

Kyla is a life saver and I tell anyone considering a nanny to talk to her first. When we had our first son she walked us through, step by step, how to have a proper in home care employee. She knows her stuff when it comes to payroll, employment law, and having a great employment relationship from the start. She is thorough about understanding your family and needs so that she can make a match that is a good fit. Her vetting process for nannies is also very thorough. She takes very seriously who she will put your child's care in the hands of. We hired our first and only nanny from her placement 2.5 years ago and our entire family's lives are better for it. Our nanny is absolutely amazing, she keep our household stable and the kids safe and nurtured. We adore her and she's become a critical member of our growing family now too. I have no doubt that had I gone it alone, I'd have had turnover a few times over by now (which is time consuming, stressful, and expensive). As a parent, I love that she advocates for nannies. Caregivers have long been undervalued and overworked. I've never felt that her advocacy for nannies was to my detriment. Having an amazing nanny is what I hired Kyla to help me with and she delivered beyond my expectations. read more

I have been a nanny for 15 years and I have worked with two other agencies. Both quickly placed me without really interviewing me or listening to my needs. I ended up working for families that were not fit to work for. Kyla took the time to actually listen to what had happened with previous families and find me a family that not only appreciates me and treats me right, but is an excellent match up. She truly cares about the nanny and the families and goes above and beyond to make sure both are happy. I adore my current nanny families so much. I cannot imagine working for anyone else. I will only use Kyle and her agency to find my nanny families. read more

Kyla takes the stress out of finding a compatible family to nanny for! She very much has a knack for matching your personality and experience with the needs of her client families. She makes the entire process extremely comfortable, even if you're new to nannying. Thanks to her expertise and personal touch I was able to find a long-term placement soon after being furloughed from my previous job due to covid. I am so grateful for this service and can't recommend The Nanny Consultant enough! read more

The Nanny Consultant is an outstanding resource for parents and nannies! The owner was instrumental in helping me navigate working in a nanny share. It has been 5 years and I am still working with the same family! Over the years, I can tell you that this agency really cares about the family dynamic and having a great environment for the children, parents and also for the nanny. I highly recommend working with The Nanny Consultant if you're a nanny or if you're a family looking to employ a nanny. Her advice has been a saving grace - She is a well of knowledge! read more

I have used The Nanny Consultant three times now while looking for a new nanny position. I chose to get in contact with her over other consulting servies because she has experience working as a nanny. I felt comforted by that and was not let down. Kyla makes the effort to get to know both nanny and family so she can pair accordingly. Having Kyla and her staff as a resource during what can be a stressful time has been invaluable. Kyla strikes a good balance of keeping her clients needs top priority while also being a great advocate for the us nannies. I highly recommend using The Nanny Consultant, Kyla really is the best! read more

Kyla is absolutely great! She is on top of everything she puts effort into and really makes for a easy transition for both families and nanny's. My personal experience with Kyla she helped me find amazing families to nanny for in Seattle as I was in a transitional period of changing my long time career as a early childhood teacher. I have been teaching for over 13 years and really had some anxiety about starting this new adventure. She was kind, understanding and patient with the whole process and I could really tell she was an advocate for both families and the Nannies she sought out for her families. I'm excited to have been so fortunate to partner with her as well as my new families. If you're looking for professionalism and honesty she's the best in Seattle. Good luck read more

I am a nanny of 7 years and have NEVER in my career experience had such a disrespectful, entitled and unprofessional experience with a nannying agency or a family. At first, I had a good experience with Kyla... Until our first zoom interview, was when I first started to notice red flags on the way that she runs her business, as well as her clients absurd expectations. Not only did she flat out tell me "My client won't hire you because you have too many people in your circle during Covid." (I have a total of 7 people in our close circle, which includes my mother, father, son, spouse, brother and in laws.) During our interview I clearly stated who I see, where we go, how we handle COVID and how genuinely careful we are about reducing exposure. After realizing that I am one of the most responsible nanny's she's been able to find, in regards to the virus and my experience, we continued on with our conversation (after she had already underestimated me about not being a good fit for one client in particular) and set up a virtual meeting with the mother. I felt as if the interview went extremely well, until the mother said that my circle was too big and that essentially the exposure between my loved ones and I wouldn't make them feel safe. I was extremely confused by this; because they have a family of 6, get to see their loved ones and the mother even stated having socially distanced drinks with girlfriends outdoors.. and yet their nanny can't do the same, at a MUCH lesser extent of people than them!!!!! I assured her that we hardly even see our family, don't have gatherings and hardly even go to public places during the pandemic. She seemed to really like me and even promoted to set up an in person interview at the end of the call. After the zoom ended, I get a text from Kyla stating this: "I knew nothing about your brother and it is extremely embarrassing to have heard it from my client, without you telling me." First of all, I DID tell her I had a brother over our first interview and since I don't see him, he is not included in my circle of close people. Secondly, my brother is a car salesman, 3 hours away and does not effect my exposure to Covid... Kyla and the mother didn't even bother to ask me for further info, instead they assumed and bashed me about being a liar over text, not even being courteous enough to answer a phone call to talk about it more in depth. This experience made me decide to no longer be a nanny and to never support a business that is ran this way!!! Please don't waste your time with entitled people like this. The money is not worth being undermined of your hard work and dedication. She's the reason I left this career today and it's a shame that someone as kind/loving is no longer willing to help families in the future. read more

After having a terrible experience with another Seattle nanny agency, I was fortunate to be referred to Kyla by a physician friend who gave her rave reviews. From the moment Kyla and I first spoke, I knew that she was incredibly dedicated. She worked tirelessly for several months to find us the perfect nanny for our family. This was all due to her efforts- she did not delegate her rigorous screening process- she interviewed and evaluated each candidate personally. She contacted me frequently to update me on the process and was reachable at any time. We are now 8 months into working with our nanny, who has become part of our family. I can't imagine a better fit. There is no better peace of mind than knowing that you are working with a candidate personally vetted and recommended by Kyla. read more

Stop looking to other agency's! KYLA IS THE BEST! I have so many wonderful things to say about Kyla Lopez!!! I have been a nanny for 16 years and never had a agency treat me so well! She took her time to listen to what I needed and what I looked for in a family. A week later I was hired and I am so happy she found the perfect family for me. I recommend all families looking for nanny and nannies looking for a family to put your trust on Kyla. She will keep in touch periodically to make sure you are happy and are always available to questions/concerns. She helped me with the contract, questions and negotiations, she was fair and knowledgeable! The position that I'm right now is my dream job, I already can see years and years working with this family. Thank you Kyla!! read more

We worked with Kyla to find a nanny for our 2 year old son. She took a lot of time to get to know our family and what we were looking for, lots of detailed and direct questions. There are a few things that I appreciated most about Kyla: - she wasn't throwing candidates at us just to try to fill the job, she took her time to find nannies who met or exceeded our expectations - she has fantastic communication, we were continuously kept in the loop on her search efforts and how things were proceeding with each candidate - she gave us the space to make up our own minds and wasn't pushy, didn't second guess us, and sought feedback - she did an amazing job of setting expectation and timelines - she balanced the needs and wants of both our family and the candidates, making sure it would be a good fit for both We had a change in our lives which meant we had to withdraw our search for a nanny. But if we are in need of a nanny in the future, we will be calling Kyla in a heartbeat! read more

I highly recommend The Nanny Consultant! Kyla is amazing at matching a family with the perfect nanny. I am a parent that sought Kyla last year for potentially finding a nanny. I was conflicted on whether to leave a 2 or 3 star review. I'll explain. Our meeting with Kyla was nice. She was informative, but kind of brutal. I think she's used to "educating" parents about the realities of hiring a nanny (particularly the cost) but she came across as harsh and all-knowing. Based on her info, we decided against a nanny. We figured there was no way we could pay the rates that she said we would HAVE to pay, or no one would answer our job ads. We wanted to be able to continue to save. After starting a PEPS group, and discussing pending child care choices, I found out a few moms had met Kyla and had similar experiences. One of my mom friends (who is a lawyer) nailed it perfectly when she said that she thought Kyla was very biased toward Nannies in the parent, nanny relationship. Which obviously isn't a good thing when one is trying to be the middle man in pairing parents with nannies, especially when the parents are paying the finding fee entirely! But it made sense, because Kyla herself was a nanny. So there's that. I am in the Seattle nanny FB group and I have read her comments over many months which all seem to favor the nanny when any sort of issue gets discussed. At one point, I went back to her website and it does discuss nanny empowerment a lot. So I guess as far as that's concerned, she does a good job empower nannies to try to get as much compensation as possible from their families. As far as consulting, I think she is very biased with her experience. Late last fall, we ended up needing to pull our son from daycare when my husbands job changed. We were left with needing to hire a nanny due to long daycare wait lists. We were able to find an AMAZING nanny through networking and give her, her desired rate. Which was significantly lower than what Kyla told us we'd have to pay. I later found out that in my QA, Magnolia PEPS group, no one was paying their nannies anything close to what Kyla told us we had to offer. And guess what, we all have great nannies, with good wages and everyone is happy and still together nearly a year later. I truly feel one of Kyla's goals is to push the market rate of nannies up My suggestion to parents, network to find a nanny. Mom friends are the best. Kyla will charge you hundreds to post free ads on FB groups (that you can join for free and post yourself). I do think her services could be helpful for families new to seattle, just be ready to pay!!! Update: This is a real review. I am a real parent. read more

Very unprofessional approach, shady practices as far as giving a price first to later say it's 4 times the original amount.

Kyla is amazing at what she does, matching nannies to families. She really listens and truly cares about finding the perfect matches for both parties involved. Kyla gas a real talent. I found my current family through The Nanny Consultant and they are amazing!! She works with the family and nanny from start to finish. Thorough questions about what you are looking for, nanny background check, she does the reference checks as well, personally meets all families and nannies, and even helps with the contract. I definitely recommend The Nanny Consultant!!! read more

Kyla is an amazing professional and so amazing to work with. If you are a parent looking for nanny or someone contemplating becoming a nanny then she is the person to work with! We hired Kyla this Spring after losing our long-term nanny to an unexpected move out of state. Mid-pandemic, with a new baby and toddler, it was stressful to think about bringing a brand new person into our family while still feeling safe. Kyla was reassuring about the process and an absolute savior for us! She sent us several qualified candidates and within a week hired a wonderful nanny. She walked us thru the process and was a great resource as we negotiated the offer. Can't say enough good things about our experience! It was 100% worth it to hire her--she took all the weight off our shoulders. read more

Working with Kyla to find a new nanny for my 2 boys was a wonderful experience. She truly cared about my family and finding the right person to fill such an important role. Her communication during the process was great and made me less anxious about finding someone in time. I would recommend Kyla and the Nanny Consultant to anyone looking for a nanny. read more

We had a terrible experience with the nanny Kyla found for us, and later with Kyla after our nanny quit on us. The nanny worked for us for less than five months, and then, on a Monday night, quit, out of the blue. She had come highly recommended by Kyla, but she was an absolute dud. The nanny did not follow directions and, for example, refused to give our then 8-month old the semi solid foods we asked her to, and boiled my wife's breast milk to heat it up. Our daughter was constantly getting rashes due to our nanny not changing her diaper frequently enough. She also had a strained relationship with our four-year old son. The nanny was not bright, but that was consistent with the nanny candidates Kyla found for us. We were also very disappointed with Kyla's behavior. After our nanny quit (which meant my wife and I each had to take two days off work that week), we desperately tried to find a new nanny, and asked Kyla for help. Kyla refused, and instead suggested we reach out to temp agencies. We ultimately did, and ended up finding a fabulous nanny through Annie's Nannies. The moral of the story is you get what you pay for, and you don't pay Kyla, relatively speaking, a lot compared to the other far more reputable nanny placement services in Seattle. We highly regret ever working with Kyla - it was a terrible experience. read more

I am so thankful for Kyla!! She helped me find the most amazing family and I feel so incredibly blessed! She was very communicative, professional, and worked her absolute hardest to help find the perfect fit for me. Kyla knows exactly what she is doing and I am so happy that I had the opportunity to work with her. I look forward to working with her in the future as well! I would highly recommend Kyla to anyone who is looking to use a nanny placement service. She truly is the best! =) read more

I had very high hopes after reading Kyla's yelp reviews. I contacted Kyla for a quote, and after she quoted me $245 I met with her to discuss our nanny needs. We supplied Kyla all the relevant info, and when we received her invoice for $245 we paid it right away through PayPal. Kyla then sent us her contract to review and we were surprised. In the contract, Kyla required a fee to guarantee the nanny she would place with us. The cheapest fee was $600 for a 60 day guarantee that she would help replace the nanny. We tried negotiating her terms by asking for a $0 30 day guarantee (a standard across almost any industry) and she declined. We asked for an option without a guarantee for $0 . She again declined. As we were not willing to pay an additional $600 (grand total of $845), I asked that she refund us our money. Kyla tried very hard to refuse the refund, even going so far as to say she had a $100/hour rate that had exhausted our money so she was unable to refund us. What I discovered she had done for this $100/hour fee was to copy a short, standard nanny ad to the Facebook page 405/Eastside Area Nanny Parent Connection. Anyone can request to join the page and place their own ad for free here. Thank goodness for PayPal. They recognized this bait and switch for what it was, and refunded us our money. My advice is expect to pay at least $845 for this service or use Facebook and care.com to hire a nanny like we did for a whole lot less. read more

When our current nanny became flaky, I turned to Kyla to help us find a new nanny for our 2 year old and after school care for 8 and 10 year olds. She sourced several qualified candidates and pre-screened them too! Invaluable for a busy working mom! We found an amazing new nanny and even a temp through The Nanny Consultant who we used until our full time nanny was available to start. The whole process took only a few hours instead of days! The result is perfect with a caring, responsible nanny for our family. Highly recommend! read more

Wow, what a great resource for REAL Nannies who are dedicated and looking for a real career taking care of children. I have known Kyla Perkins for 2 years and she is the real deal. No hidden surprises, everything above board and all of her fees are in writing. I know when I have concerns or questions, Kyla is a straight shooter and will give me a straight answer. There is no reason to not use her. If you are serious about finding the best family and fit for your career, The Nanny Consultant is my number one choice for your search. She gets you top dollar as well. Families searching for the best agency to list your search, I cannot stress how professional and hard working this woman is. She cares about the Nanny/family bond first and foremost and never settles for the sub par worker who is just out for money and doesn't look out for children first and foremost. I am proud to be in a field where we can give 100%, get praise for a job well done and be recognized by our work families even after the job ends. I will always use The Nanny Consultant for my job needs and thankful she has the integrity to turn away those not putting our profession in a good light. Thank you for all your hard work, tenacity and determination to make Seattle one of the best locations to work in the Nanny profession. read more

As a parent, I've considered working with Kyla since her fees are lower than traditional agencies. However you get what you pay for. Even though her fee is 100% paid by the families, she's very much a nanny advocate and pushes high rates, which probably explains why the majority of her 5-star yelp reviews are from nannies. If you're starting from zero, don't want to do any of the leg work and have a healthy budget, she's knowledgeable and can guide you through the process (but don't expect her to be a balanced intermediary). But I was a bit put off by her attitude. I have no doubt that some parents may need more hand holding than others, but I didn't like her way of assuming that *all* parents are clueless and that she had to go on some sort of crusade to educate us idiot parents. Also, I did not like that she does not work with nannies who are mothers. Yes you read that right... she won't place a nanny who happens to have children (even if they don't bring them to work). She explained to us that moms do need to take time off work when their kids are sick, which does not make them reliable nannies. Turns out I would actually be happy to support a fellow working mom, and I did not appreciate that Kyla would shamelessly support the false and outdated narrative that working moms = bad employees. read more

Kyla was very professional and helpful. Coming from the side of being a nanny looking for a new family, and not the parents looking for a nanny, I can't say enough nice things about her. Kyla has so many tools and tips to help both nanny's and family's looking for a nanny, it is rather amazing. Kyla ultimately placed me with my new nanny family and we could not be a better fit. She was able to help me find a very specific kind of family that allows me to bring my 2 yr old with me. I myself have a background in early childhood development, learning disabilities and extensive background with children on the autism spectrum and Kyla was able to match me with a family that could both use and benefit from my experience. Again, can't say enough wonderful things about her! read more

Before I met Kyla, the Nanny Consultant I had been searching for the perfect family to work for. I had no idea where to start. I was searching craigslist tirelessly for at least a month before I came across one of The Nanny Consultant's ad. I applied on a whim, within a half hour I received an email from Kyla wanting to meet that day! Her promptness was like nothing I had worked with before. As soon as we met it was a connection! She matched me with the greatest family within a week. Kyla understands the nanny's needs just as much as the family's. When I started working for the family, her help didn't stop there. They were new to town and Kyla made sure the twins had plenty of playdates with new friends. From promptness to follow through, Kyla is a great person to work for! read more

Kyla was the greatest help I could ask for when looking for a nanny position. She really encouraged me to do what was best for me when choosing a family to work with, and helped make sure I would be working in an environment that was right for me, with a family that I really meshed with, getting the benefits I deserved. She went above and beyond to make me (someone out of the nanny world for a few years) feel included in the nanny community in our area and she offers so many resources that I feel like I can take on anything the little bundle of joy I get to care for will throw at me. read more

I began the search for nannies several months before my now 2.5yr old was born. It has been been an incredibly time-consuming and worrisome process as caregivers have come and gone since, requiring significant hours, effort, and leaps of faith to eventually find whoever seems best qualified at the time. After a particularly negative experience recently, I contacted Kyla for help. From the start, she was professional, empathetic, energetic, and fully committed to providing the service and finding the care my family needs. She invested time to get to know our family and turned that into a effective and efficient process to find a great match. As a hard-working professional with limited budget and time, I appreciate Kyla's clear and consistent communications; persistence in driving to the best end result; and her passion and follow-through to educate and ensure a great experience for families and nannies alike. I will not waste time or effort or take a leap of faith to find caregivers for my child again--Kyla will be the first and only person I call. Any family that wants to take the burden and guess-work out of finding care for their children would be well-served to do the same. read more
