She spends nearly an hour meticulously applying powder, shaping, buffing, and adding lacquer, but refuses to let my nails cure under the light lamp for more than 60 seconds. As a result, the lacquer starts peeling within a day or two. The ONLY time this doesn't happen is when Mia gets distracted, and I sneak extra time under the lamp--then the lacquer lasts 2-3 weeks! This issue persists whether she uses my own lacquer or the salon's. I typically get one layer, but last time, Mia insisted the peeling was due to using just one layer. So, I let her apply two layers, which made things worse. The thicker coating needed even more curing time, but she still limited it to 60 seconds, pulling the lamp away and saying, "That's enough." By the time I got home, the lacquer was already peeling! The acrylic base holds up for up to 3 weeks, but it's pointless if the lacquer doesn't last 3 days! I've had enough - - it's time to find a new salon! Friends have shared some great recommendations. Attached are photos from day 3.
