Service was definitely lacking, out of 3 breakfast items, the 3 rooms available to sit in was were full of dirty dishes and couldn't find a nice clean table to sit at, then the employee starts yelling at the other to go buss and clean up the tables. Really bad vibe. It doesn't matter if this house had a unique history, to come here and have this experience with amount of money spent for coffee and not having 3 things on the breakfast menu to settle for something completely different after driving here, we will not come back. Was disappointed. I love the theme of a whiskey bar. But disappointed in selection of food or lack thereof. No non meat offerings besides a small salad. No bread. A bit high with pricing but would rather have some more food choices over high pricing. I was hungry and left hungry. I realize prices have gone up but $22. for a whiskey et al seems excessive. Us Everett dwellers must try this place. It is a gorgeous setting. But just like in life- personality makes the girl even prettier. I think the MUSE got dressed up for the prom but really had nothing to say. The table side manner of our server was a fish out of water, a bit rude, oddly forgetful and left a bad taste in our groups mouth for what was our big night out. We went to check out the Muse and came across several problems. When you walk in, there's no menu available to look at. You have to wait until you're almost at checkout. There's a little spinning menu that you can look at, one at a time. The writing is small and the folks behind us said they couldn't read it. We arrived at the ordering station and the woman looked at us, turned around, and ignored us for a solid 30 seconds. No acknowledgement or friendliness. She turned around and said, "What do you need?" We asked for the turkey club and she responded with, "We don't have that." We replied, "Okay, what do you have?" She said, "Ham and swiss." That was a no for us. We felt unwelcomed and all we wanted was a sandwich on their menu. We understand that people have bad days, but the way you treat people matters because it impacts whether they want to come back or not. read more

The remodel of this historic building is beautiful and the location cannot be beat! We have been there twice in the morning for coffee only so can't comment on the bar situation. Maybe as they are open longer some of these issues will smooth out but the 2nd time we were there, the servers were not polite about letting us know we had to bus our own tables. The first time we were there, we did not have to - in fact we were told, just sit and enjoy, we'll take care of it. But not the 2nd time! And we went wondering to the 2nd floor to see the rest of the building, we were told quite rudely that "we don't allow anyone up here" and when we said there were no signs indicating upstairs was closed, she said in a bit of a huff "we're working on it" and quickly disappeared. Super disappointing. I will not recommend this place to anyone until they have been open longer and hopefully work out some of these customer service kinks. read more

The food menu is pretty limited and the portions are definitely more snack/ appetizer size and honestly not impressive for the price, it's not bad by any means but definitely not a "empty stomach" dinner plans type of menu. Beautiful building! Lots of confused staff who are good at getting orders wrong. Lots of chatter amongst the constantly confused and distracted staff. I love the location so I've been there five times hoping it will get better. Gets chaotic sometimes with children running around one time kids pushing chairs around with adults around them ignoring the bad behavior. We went to The Muse to celebrate a birthday recently. We had a reservation and since we wanted to sit in the bar, we had paid the required $20 deposit. Our waitress initially was wonderful and we were off to a good start until she told us the one menu item they were not offering was the zucchini (we had previewed the menu ahead of time and that was the one we definitely agreed to order). The veggie substitute available was battered green beans that luckily came with a creme fraiche dipping sauce because otherwise they were pretty bland. We ordered more sauce immediately since it was served with a paltry amount compared to the number of green beans. Unfortunately, the extra sauce didn't make it to the table for a LONG time, nor were we offered another drink until long after our patience had expired. The other things we ordered were chicken skewers, and ahi tuna. The chicken was tasty with well-balanced flavors. The ahi was meh. Our drinks were ok. I had a mocktail and honestly not sure what it was because I asked the waitress if I could have one of the drinks on the menu in a nonalcoholic version, and she said she would see what the bartender could make and would let me know. She delivered our drinks without another word about what it was I was receiving. It would've been nice if she said: "This is XYZ, let me know if you like it." At the end of our visit, the same waitress found it necessary to circle the total amount of the tab before the $20 credit was applied, presumably to signal us to tip appropriately. I did end up tipping appropriately based on the level of service that was rendered. The ambiance at The Muse is great. Hopefully the food and service improve to match the setting. read more

An adventure into cocktails! I highly recommend sitting at the bar to watch the bartenders at work. It's impressive, and they are ready to share their knowledge with you. The drinks were delicious. We only shared a charcuterie tray, so we didn't try too much food. The history of the building is interesting, and they've turned it to something quite beautiful AND comfortable. We came here for whiskey and cocktails and were not disappointed. My fiancé and I stuck to sweet cocktails where as my brother who joined us tasted a few whiskeys. The services was excellent with the wait staff being very attentive and the bartender joining us a couple times to discuss what whiskeys my brother might find interesting. The whiskey selection was solid but presented in a disorganized and not up to date menu which made ordering a little tricky but The Muse is still fairly new so I'd guess they'd get this worked out in time. I found this place to be wonderful. Though it is true that it isn't a place to get drunk, it is a place to savor. The historic value is amazing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were told that this is a place to enjoy a snack and a beverage. So we had the charcuterie board and lamb chops, nicely done. I had the smugglers cove, yum. My mother had a mock tail, the Pinacoloda. Now I was super impressed. It was the presentation and taste that completely got me. This place is about attention to detail, and I am super excited to see what happens with the tea bar that they are putting upstairs. Can 't wait to go back. read more

Cafe - the coffee is delicious and I say it is much better when ordered to enjoy in house rather than to go. More care goes into creating the drinks when you order to enjoy inside. Whiskey Bar - if anyone is surprised by the prices, you shouldn't be. It comes with the atmosphere the created. The drinks were tasty and the food was good. Reason for 4 stars is because the food could be a little bit, well more. Portions could be a little bit more. Another reason is that there is zero coffee served in the evening. I was really looking forward to ending the night with a cup of brewed coffee but to my surprised they didn't have any especially since they have an amazing, fully loaded coffee bar. If I had one major suggestion it would be to offer a drip coffee in the evening as well, I know I'm not the only one who would order this. read more

The restoration and remodel of this 100 yr old building is done so well. If you are looking for a unique coffee lounge by day and a speakeasy bar in the evening, you need to try The Muse Whiskey bar, located on the Everett marina with a gorgeous view that is quintessential Pacific Northwest. There is a small menu but every dish we tried was delicious- especially the lamb chops, Ahi Tuna and spring salad. The bar manager was so knowledgeable about his craft and had lots of unique cocktail suggestions. I wish I was a whiskey connoisseur because there were some noteworthy bottles of whiskey there. If you are not a whisky drinker, there is a good wine, beer and cocktail list. Overall, the atmosphere was regal yet cozy and the views from every room and the patio are stunning. Walk around and look at the vault where there are personal wine storage units and the patio is a perfect spot to watch the sunset and sip on your cocktail. First off I must say my husband and I do not drink, so I have no comment on the drinks. We really enjoyed walking around the historical mansion as it is impressive! I loved it. We sat outside as it was a beautiful evening, we had a wonderful sunset. We both had the salad. I had the lamb chops and my husband the smoke salmon bites. The food was delicious. The Muse employees need to be trained on good customer service, how to communicate with each other, and proper cleaning techniques. The food was good, yet pricey The service was deplorable. We were stopping in for a glass of wine and some snacky foods. Ended up purchasing a Delille D2 and a charcuterie board. The charcuterie board was $34 and the D2 was fair at $12.00 When the waiter asked "6 or 9 Oz" we opted for the 9 Oz pour. Big mistake on our part. The 6 Oz pour as I said was $12.00, it turns out the 9 Oz pour is $25.00. Some of the most deceptive pricing I've seen before. I could have purchased 2- 6 Oz pours for the same price. We didn't notice the price of the 9 Oz pour until we got our $91 bill at the end of it. Wow! The food and drink took an exorbitant amount of time to get to our table. Sorry, I didn't time it. But suffice to say, I had two glasses of water before we got a glass of wine, and the food took quite a bit longer. The real kicker for us was when we asked the waiter to move an umbrella down because the sun was setting and was blinding us. You'd think we asked him something difficult. After shaking his head in disgust with our request, he fumbled the umbrella like a 15 year old asked to pull weeds. Half assed attempt and a half assed job. In the end it was an ultimate fail and he made matters worse. The ambiance was superb however. Overlooking the marina and the sound as the sun was setting made it spectacular. I love the PNW. Pretentious, Overhyped & Overpriced. We were so excited to check this place out and it took a long time to get a reservation because of how trendy it is. Your party will have a room of their own, but the it will be open and people will walk through often. The chairs are retro, but at the expense of being very uncomfortable and the tables are sparsely placed as to make it almost impossible to eat. It's akin to eating at a friend's house with your plate on your lap and that means eating a lamb chop with your bare hands unless you want to try and use a knife and fork (not advised). Speaking of the $21 Lamb Chops, they came out gray with no charring and one of them was raw in the middle with un-rendered fat. They (along with all of the other dishes we ordered) came with a pile of spring mix and balsamic reduction on top. There is no starch and it gets very repetitive if you order more than one thing. The Hawaiian Chicken Skewers had 3 tiny pieces of meat on each of them for $15 and the same boring spring mix with sweet balsamic. The Bone Marrow was also undercooked and everything we ordered was overly sweet, leaving us feeling kind of sick by the end. As for the drinks, they are pretentious to the point of being almost undrinkable. I ordered the "Colony Cocktail" at the advisement of our server and it was like drinking Ajax mixed with lemon. I then ordered a beer, expecting a nice draft pint due to the $13 price tag and was very disappointed to receive a tallboy can and a glass for me to pour myself. With the prices they are charging, I expected a lot more. I would give them 1 star, but the service was very friendly and made it a fun environment. If you do come here, plan on ordering the charcuterie board only (as it was a standout), expect to sit in an uncomfortable chair and order a drink that you would normally order somewhere else. read more

We made a reservation and went opening day to the whiskey speak easy. The location and decor was stunning however that is the only positive thing I have to say. We knew going opening night there would be some issues to smooth out. The server was incredibly rude and insulting. He said they had a soft open a week ago and he had no clue about their menu whatsoever. You have to pay $20 per person to reserve a time and then you have an hour and a half time limit. However there is no grace period if they are very slow getting you a drink. We heard our server kicking out four other tables once it was approaching the end of their reservation. One couple ordered a expensive glass of wine five minutes before they were asked to leave and had to chug the wine. They forgot one of our drinks. I ordered a rum runner off their menu and was delivered a road runner. Which is completely different drink with tequila instead of rum. The server told me well that's a drink and argued with me. He should have clarified since only one of the drinks is on the menu. For the price the drinks were okay and tasted like their wasn't much alcohol in them. We reached out to the manager and never heard back. The server was so off putting and insulting that we wouldn't go back. read more

Visited The Muse for the first time on Saturday March.23rd,Going there to celebrate a friend's birthday. There were about 10 of us. We were in one of the back rooms which was great For conversation! Although in the back room, sometimes you tend to be forgotten, we did eventually get our drink orders in and finally got our drinks she left for a while. Some people wanted to order some appetizers but she was nowhere to be found. Eventually she did return ,we ordered some appetizers and those did come fairly quickly. At the end of our get together, we asked her if she would take our picture and she said no, she absolutely does not have enough time to do that! I can honestly say I ordered one drink and it was $33.10 and the waitress couldn't even take our picture. Yes there's extra gratuity tacked on for oversized group and that's understandable but not being able to take the time to take a picture is horrible Customer service !!! Felt like she got her tip and definetly was not going to do anything else !!! very disappointed. I probably will not be back.. read more

It's a beautiful building and is a nice concept. The lounges are well kept and very beautifully decorated with unique, comfortable seating. But that seems to be where to good things end. When you walk in, there's a cafe bar with no menu in site and it's unlikely to be greeted. It's unfortunate there is no worker/barista to stand near the register to explain how the place works, because there's many rooms, stairs, and doors with no label and you have no idea where to go or where you're allowed. Each time i've been here there's never been more than 3 baristas behind the bar, and this is a very busy place. The baristas aren't very helpful and are a bit rude, and if you're inconveniencing them by asking questions when there is no menu, no signs, no explanation as how the place works. Not only were we subject to haughty service from the barista reluctantly taking our order, but i witnessed the family in front of us experiencing the same thing too when they asked to see a menu. We ordered our drinks and a bakery item that are quite high in price. We looked in each room/lounge area and there was very little seating, so we asked if we could sit in the bar area (with the door wide open), to which the barista looked at us as if we are crazy to asking to sit in a room with an open door and a closed bar. We asked if there was more seating upstairs, to which another barista looked at us like we've asked the strangest question and said no. I'm not sure how customers are expected to know this as once again, no signs or help from staff indicates anything. I question why theres such a small staff on bar considering how busy this place always is. And how there is no system for the coffee bar, as people got their drinks in completely random orders. The people who ordered before us got their drinks after us, and the people 3 places behind got their drinks before everyone. Each time I've ordered drinks they have been lack luster. This most recent time we ordered a vanilla latte and a flavored italian soda with cream. The vanilla latte had no flavor whatsoever, and when the barista gave me the Italian soda it was white.... as in she put about 1/2 a pump of flavor and a lot of cream as if we ordered sparkling milk.
