Not just great coffee, but great vibes too! Outstanding customer service and very friendly staff. Genuinely friendly, not fake or forced lol. I'm a bit of a coffee snob living in the Pacific Northwest and they deliver on their espresso drinks. Great menu for breakfast and lunch. My avocado toast was delicious. They put a hot pepper jam on it too, not to much but enough to give it a lil kick and added flavor. I wanted to stay another night just to come back but have to hit the road. First time stopping by, the coffee was delicious. I had a nice cup of Christmas in a Cup blend. I know, I know, it's February...but given all the snow & ice we had, this holiday blend was perfect! I really believed this coffee shop would exceed my expectations. Although, I am sad to say it did the opposite. I saw a rat scurry across the trim. I then proceeded to tell the workers and they claimed to know about this problem. It is ridiculous and disgusting that they have not proceeded to solve this problem. Don't come here. read more

It was standing room only but there were a few available tables outside. Unfortunately , I ended up getting my hot beverage to go. The vibe here is everything a coffee shop should be!!! Just left.. marginal place to sit due to all of the "campers" all set up with laptops and phones. Asked for a pour over and was presented with a below average cup. Cinnamon bread was prepackaged. Meh I had been here once before and it was a pleasant experience, however this time I walked out with the knowledge I will not return.. they seem to be trying to be all things to all people and are doing none of it well. read more

The Muse Coffee has an excellent selection of coffee and choices for specialty drinks. I love the lattes they make and all the variety they have. The Muse is not the best place for homework, unless you go at the right time. It gets really crowded and can be loud, but if you go at opening then you can snag a seat anywhere and not see many customers in the store. The employees are generally nice and helpful. There are a few younger girls who have been particularly rude, but the really kind baristas help to make up for it. There was a span of like 4 months where I went here almost every day and only one employee (Mackayla) made an effort to know my name and order. The pastry selection is not the best, unless you're into specific things like carrot cake or frosted cookies. The food they make in the kitchen is usually pretty good, especially for a coffee shop. read more

This is a great coffee shop and roastery! My husband ordered an iced caramel latte, and I had the "Christmas in a cup" unsweetened cold brew (not the featured latte with the same flavors). I got an avocado toast with no cheese, and he had a chicken salad sandwich. This was one of the best avocado toasts I've ever had!!! I want to come back to get some coffee to take home! read more

The staff was easy to talk to, My chai tea latte was just right & I loveeeeed the avocado toast. The spicy jelly is what makes it unique & sooo good! I am not really a latte, cappuccino, and other specialty coffee drink fan. I simply like a good strong black cup of coffee. This place has plenty of specialty coffee drinks, and apparently, judging from how crowded they usually are, they do a great job with those also. I can say that their coffee and food are awesome. They also have a very friendly staff that are patient with their customers. The atmosphere is pleasant and friendly. read more

I'd love to give this place 0 stars to keep people away but I can't. It gets crowded for a reason. Easily one of my favorite coffee shops in LYH. if you can get a spot in the loft area then your set. I wish they would add another loft area for more seating but it's cozy, the drip coffee is exceptional and their double espresso is pretty good too. Muse coffee. When I entered the place I thought mmmm nice! Great decor, such a cozy cute place! Ordered my food and that's when the fun started. First, no place to sit down. Here I am standing with my avocado toast in one hand and amber coconut latte in another. I look at my "latte" and it doesn't look like one at all. After we finally found a place to land I try my coffee and oh well. I address the issue immediately and ask if they could have (possibly) forgotten to add espresso shot. No foam, no texture, looks like a dripping coffee, except it supposed to be a "latte". They claimed it was made right. Do you want to try it? Poured the whole thing into the trash. I'm glad we saw Starbucks under construction not far. I hate Starbucks but I can assure you it's better than my amber coconut latte. Then I try my avocado toast. Granted it's only $4.25. But please add another $1 and make a nice avocado toast, not avocado spread toast. I don't mind paying $5.25 but for something more sustainable. Besides avocado only costs $1 in any supermarket. Are we coming back? No, thank you. Solution: Think about people not about making a profit. Do everything with excellence. It's missing in everything except the decor. Came to The Muse on a Tuesday later in the morning. The place has some tables outside in front and in the alleyway around the side of the building as well as various table options inside. There's also a spiral staircase with a second level with additional seating. It was quite 'packed' and the staff seemed a tad stressed; a line that reached the front entrance and some people waiting in another line for their beverage orders on the other end of the coffee bar. Without a dark roast option for drip coffee and afraid that the Christmas in a Cup latte would be too sweet, I ordered an Americano and a pumpkin muffin. Almost 10-15 minutes later while waiting on a growing line as the barista kept making drinks and sending them out on a shelf for online orders, finally got my coffee. It was worth the wait, their espresso is worth a returned trip if only it didn't take so long to get it. The muffin was moist and the cream cheese frosting on top was a lovely touch. Would recommend a visit if you're in town but be prepared to wait awhile. read more

The muse coffee place has a special place in my heart. I literally told them "it's been a long day and I need an old drink that can keep me awake for 6 more hrs"....and those angels did it. It was a long work week and they helped me through. The drink Christmas in a cup is amazing as it sounds. The mocha ice coffee......(yes I went everyday while visiting shhh) is the second best cup of coffee i ever had in my LIFE. NUMBER 1 mocha coffee EVER!!!! The place cool, and a real good place to study. They have a gorgeous round stairs that go up to a different level that will make any tall big person like myself question gravity lol. I haven't been to Lynchburg in probably 15 years, so I don't know much about this area. I kept passing by The Muse, naturally had to see what Yelpers had to say about it. Immediately jumped in my car and drove out here solely based in all the enthusiastic, raving reviews about this place. Per Yelpers, I got the Island Coconut, and my sister got a Mocha. Both so smooth and full of flavor. The Island Coconut wasn't too overwhelmingly coconut flavor either, which I enjoy. We went at 8:30pm so we almost had the whole place to ourselves. Such a lovely atmosphere! Warm and cozy. Beautiful artwork from local artists were hung. If I wasn't traveling, I would've bought a painting! What talent! My favorite thing was the small winding staircase that led to upper seating. I wish I had something like this where I live in Orlando, because I would go here literally everyday in I lived in Lynchburg. read more

Awesome coffee! Nice ambiance but it's always packed with never enough seating, and sometimes the music is too loud. I've always though they should expand their 2nd floor seating and utilize the ginormous ceiling space to expand the floor up there. The coffee is excellent, however, some of the flavored specialty drinks can be really sweet, I always ask for it half sweet or even 1/3 sweetness and it's still plenty sweet for me. That is the only jab at the coffee though, everything else about the coffee is excellent. Smooth, strong espresso flavor and it works wonderfully with the syrups. Friendly service as well! read more

Although I had friends who enjoyed coming here when I was attending Liberty, it was not until after college that I have come to love this place. I enjoy their sandwiches, coffee, and particularly the Lynchburg Fog tea. I also enjoy seeing handmade gifts at the front of the shop, and the paintings, being that I am also a creative. I only had the drip coffee, which was mediocre at best. Honestly, it tasted exactly like Panera's coffee, which I loathe. Everyone else ate and said their food was wonderful. I stopped by Muse coffee after two weeks of drinking nonstop Starbucks. I wanted to try a local coffee shop. Luckily, my handy dandy Yelp app helped me find Muse in the quaint Wyndhurst neighborhood of Lynchburg. I had the Daydream turkey panini (delicious) and the Island Nut latte (coconut and hazelnut fused together). The sandwich was on warm panini bread with pesto mayo, turkey, and craisins. It paired well with my tropical paradise of a hot drink I had. The only thing that kept me from giving 5-star review was the terribly slow service. The sandwich was tiny, so it shouldn't have taken 20 minutes to make. read more

The Muse is a nice little neighborhood spot, if you live in the Rainbow Forest or Wyndhurst neighborhoods. I've enjoyed both breakfast and lunch there, as well as occasionally stopping by for an iced tea to cool off when it's hot. The atmosphere is very inviting, and the crew is super friendly, and the food is pretty good as well. I'm (relatively) new to the area, and I can see this place becoming a go-to, since it's only about a 5 minute drive from home, not to mention it's between me and the Jamerson Y, where I'm a member.
