The staff was so nice! And the food was so good, I recommend the scones just delicious, and the teas are very nice, you can also get to go! How awesome is that, it also has a very nice vintage vibe that's very relaxing, I recommend stopping by and doing some work there or bringing a book

Coffee is GREAT. What a find. Barista was dialed in. Have returned. The breve had a nice rich coffee flavor.

Great staff, great coffee and a very comfortable venue. Located in a neat old church and a little hard to find but worth the effort

When the next-to-the-last independent used bookstore closes (Never!) Barrister Books will stand…read morealone : Anthony Baker, the proprietor, is that committed to what he does and his result show it. Barrister Books, in an ancient building (2 actually) lovingly restored by Anthony himself has an aura alluded to by Kevin, the other reviewer. Anthony's stock is not advertised on-line, so you'll have to put in a personal appearance to find that first edition of Hudson's "Green Mansions." Check this out: http://barristerbooks.squarespace.com/ Barrister Books is part of a small but growing constellation of businesses in Staunton's historic downtown, surely one of the most picturesque and friendly such district's anywhere in the country. Anthony chooses his offering with care and there are no dogs in this garden of reading delights. Still you can probably bring your dog inside if you keep her on a leash and agree to clean up after yourself. Anyone traversing the Shenandoah Valley on the North-South axis along I-81 should turn off at Staunton and have lunch, a stroll and a browse. And the prices are excellent. I know because I buy a book about 75% of the time when I stop by. As I live in CA, this is an intermittent pleasure. Anthony has a great book shop and knows his inventory well. Definitely worth a visit and purchase…read moreif you're in the area.
