They charged 1 hour labor to change air and cabin filter (which jiffy lube changes in 3 minutes - literally). They charged a $70 waste-disposal fee so that $119 oil change apparently was $199. They charged for an hour of labor for a "200k checkup" which when pressed entailed "checking brakes and fluid levels". Another scam because the fluid levels were supposed to be part of the oil change - again, Jiffy Lube includes it. Total sham place that sells itself as a 'down home good ole earnest mechanics shop', but in the end it was exactly the sort of place to avoid. Watch out.

The other local and well-respected shop did not correctly locate a minute cooling leak, which was only resolved when RHA re-opened and I brought it in to them.

I took it to Sharp Transmissions because of the reviews and its a transmission shop. I work on my truck as much as I possibly can but dealing with repairing a transmission is out of my wheel house. I dropped off the truck in the morning and I got a call about 2 hours later. Milt told itme he had inspected the car test drove and it was not the tranny it was the power steering pump that had a small not noticeable leak but the fluid resevoir was almost dry and that was the noise I was hearing coming from the truck. He added power sterring fluid and solved the problem but let me know it something that will need attention down the road. I thanked him I picked up my truck later that evening. Drove the truck home ran like a charm. I will certainly take it to him again when I need work done. I appreciated his honesty he could have told me I needed a new transmission instead I got a honest and fair evaluation and fix. Thanks Milt glad to see that there are still good folk out there. The AAA tow truck operator asked me where I wanted it to be towed, and I immediately said "Sharp Transmission." The dropped it off and put the key in the after hours slot. Next day,I called Milt and said, take a look and give me my options. No rush, I said, since I have other cars I can drive. Milt and his crew found some time to not only diagnose the problem (two rubbng hoses put a hole in one), but to repair the problem. Same day! I picked the car up this morning and it is working perfectly. Like I said before, if you are not taking your car to Sharp, you should start doing so. I got the inspection done today and the experience was great. Jay, one of the owners, welcomed me to the shop, very friendly. I sat in the waiting area after they started the inspection. There was another customer there and we started chatting. He couldn't praise the guys there enough. This other customer and I started lamenting how a lot of businesses don't provide the same customer experience we were use to from when we were younger (yes, bunch of old guys lamenting the world is going to...) and he said J&J is one of the exceptions. Jay showed me some additional concerns on my car...brake and tire wear. He showed me the problem areas and said I have some time left but these expenses are coming down the pike. It was refreshing to see this sales approach...I was aware he was upselling the other services they offer and I was totally happy with that...that's what all businesses must do. It was the approach, education, and showing me why the repairs would be needed that convinced me that when I need the work to be done, I will go to Jay and his team. Well done guys and keep it up! Before making an eight-hour trip each way, I specifically asked them to tell me about every imperfection because I did not want to be out there and be surprised by anything because it so far. I was told by Steven that the car was in "perfect condition." I was assured repeatedly that it was exactly as described. Based on those representations, I invested significant time and money, including travel expenses and a hotel stay, to come see the car. When I arrived, the reality was completely different. The vehicle was covered in dozens of small scratches and dents. On every single panel of the car. Even the roof! It looks like a tree fell on it probably where the large branches didn't hit it, but all the small ones did. Or it got run off the road into brush or the like. Calling it "perfect condition" was not just inaccurate--it was blatantly misleading. It was obvious that the car had substantial cosmetic damage that anyone could see immediately. Steven was unpleasant to work with. He was pushy, snobby, entitled and just plain rude sometimes. After getting T-boned by a car at 50mph into my drivers side door, my car was totaled. I was trying to figure out transportation to New York. He impatiently told me to "just drive it. It's not that far." 15 HOURS. He also told me I couldn't have an auto delivery service pick it up because "I had to sign for it in person." He also told me I could only come on days when he was there and gave me HIS schedule for me to work around?? He also went on about needing to schedule all appointments that "it was rude to just show up to a used car dealership." Ummmm I'd been car shopping at a dozen prior and they were thrilled when a customer pulled in - even without an appointment. He informed he "He didn't know where I went to, but he's a professional." And that's just the highlight reel of correspondence. After leaving without the car, to make matters worse, when I requested the return of my deposit, the dealership was unresponsive and difficult to deal with. Communication became sparse, and obtaining a refund was far more complicated than it should have been. This experience was frustrating, costly, and incredibly disappointing. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business here. If you value honesty, transparency, and basic customer service, look elsewhere.
