So I came in with a for a new sceen and i bought a used battery for $225... I immediately had…read moreproblems with the screen, It wouldnt stop flashing(meaning it was a cheap chinese replacement). Screen never did stop flashing. If I had a medical condition to strobing lights I would had a seizure for sure. Long story short dropped it less than three feet while inside an otterbox box case on it, and the screen breaks, and although I have never had a screen break before, the screen has stopped working in the past and when someone has replaced a screen for me, they've thrown in a screen protector. Guess Jay didn't want to extend me that courtesy, He only made $200 in profit selling me Chinese garbage that never worked in the first place, and a used battery(Also, A RIP OFF) that barely had any life in it. I have to charge it up like three times a day, it will go through a whole battery 3 times a day now. With that said I Honestly liked Jay alot, But I didnt like the end result. Now im basically in the same shitty situation I was before, with an actual broken screen. BUYER BEWARE you wont be getting quality replacements for your hard earned money, You'll be getting the cheapest Chinese crap at very expensive prices. I gave him an oppurtunity to make it right and did not to take it, and wanted to charge me $120 dollars to replace the faulty screen he gave me in the first place, all to give me another Cheap POS Incell screen($5-$10 tops) meaning he's charging me $110 dollars for 10 mins of his time to change a screen.. THEIRS PLENTY OF OTHER PEOPLE OUT THEIR TO GET YOUR SCREEN REPLACED, I'd bet my bottom dollar. YOU CAN GET BETTER VALUE and BETTER SERVICE ANYWHERE ELSE, tRUST IT CANT BE ANY WORSE!!!!

After extensive research on how to fix my machine I finally took it to a local UBreakIFix and they told me I needed a new $500 display. This seemed wrong because I knew the display still working, just the backlight was out. Did research and found out it could just be a blown fuse, then I stumbled above iSmartRepair. Thank god I did too, these guys got my machine up and running like it was back to new. Only cost me $150 in the end compared to the $500 display that wouldn't of fixed my backlight problem since it was a logic board issue. Highly recommend these guys, they saved my $3500 laptop from death after taking a swim in the bathtub.

Quoted me $899. flat rate (meaning that this was what I was going to have to pay no matter what!)…read morefor a USB flash drive recovery and tried to claim that the process was extremely difficult and that no one else could handle it as well as they. Ended up going with another outfit and paid less than half what I was quoted by SERT, and when I informed "Todd" from SERT that I had paid $400. (which would have been $300. with the outfit I went with, except that my drive was encrypted so it cost an extra $100.) and recovered all of my data, Todd replied (after-the-fact of course) that I would have paid less with them, which is absurd based on that he was arguing beforehand about how his $899. fee was reasonable. It would appear that there are "two" Todds, because sometimes he replies with somewhat helpful messages and other times seems to be irritated and writes negative emails that appear to stem from insecurity and resentment that other companies out there are thriving charging far less for the same services. My advice would be to avoid SERT at all costs - from what I can see, this is another of those outfits that gets hold of your broken drive and then extracts whatever they can from you. My review is based on the inconsistent quality of customer service and that they quoted me $899. and assured me that no one could do the job for less, and then had the gall to try and claim that they would have done it for less, after I did find another outfit that did do the job of 100% data recovery. Very unprofessional attitude. In sum: this is how the "data recovery game" works: most all of these guys are more crooked than a barrel of snakes and will extract as much as they can out of you once they have your drive. Some will quote a very low initial price and then once they have your drive will quote something like three hours of work at average $300. per hour - others like SERT will quote you around a thousand right from the getgo - in sum, most of these guys try to get the magic figure of around $1000. from you. If you can, as I did, find a place with great reviews and a flat fee that is reasonable, go for it. Yes, data recovery is not cheap, yes it will cost you a few hundred dollars, but no, there is no reason to pay more than that, not even for "chip off" USB drive recovery, it still should not cost more than a few hundred dollars. Do not pay more than a few hundred regardless, hold your ground, and you won't go wrong. I gave them two stars (versus just one) because SERT was up front about price gouging - versus some of the others that lure you in with some hope that they will charge little, and then end up charging as much or more than SERT anyway. P.S. Be wary of five star reviews for companies that come from Yelpers with just a few reviews....
