The biggest negative that I have, is that I booked the room on Hampton's/Hilton's website and was quoted a price. When I arrived, they told me that there's a $50 incidental charge that will be refunded if nothing happens to the room, and an almost 6 dollar parking fee. Now bear in mind, the website claims that they have free parking. However, because this hotel is privately owned the desk clerk said that they can charge pretty much what they want to. Had I not booked the room a head of time, I would have gone to a different hotel.

So it's concerning when a property advertises a set of amenities including Free parking on their website (see attached) and then, without further disclosure at check-in, charges for it ($5.18/nt). It was strange to see this given there is a large parking lot and the hotel is situated in a suburban location where free parking is the norm. I was told when I called the hotel after seeing the charge on the receipt that 'the parking charge is the owner's decision, and is not Hilton policy'. I would add that there were other aspects of the hotel that indicated it may be a distressed property. The coffee was brown water, there were no bananas, oranges weren't fresh, and other fruit was wrapped in layers of plastic no doubt to disguise its age. Hot water took a full 10 minutes to reach our room on the 5th floor. So hopefully no one in your party is in a hurry. I can't recommend this property. https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/cltcdhx-hampton-concord-kannapolis/

This place is under massive amount of renovations to which it shouldn't even be allowed to operate. Paint fumes travel throughout all the hallways. Carpet on every floor either ripped out or stained with paint. Chipped wood from furniture as well as exposed wiring. We came to our room and immediately found no privacy curtains. Like at least let us not have the bright lights from across the street glaring into our room. You should steer away from this place until they are done remodeling. They must not be doing well with business if they can't afford to at least close half the building down.

There's a lot of shady individuals just hanging in front of the hotel drinking beer/etc. and catcalling every woman walking in alone. I was very uncomfortable. The check in process with Doris (I believe that was her name) was very slow and annoying. She wasn't friendly and her computer system wasn't working. She had to swipe my card 5x because it wasn't going through on her end for some reason. I better check to see if I was overcharged for "incidentals". I hate when I hand someone my card & they fling it back to me on the counter instead of placing it back into my hand. Her customer service skills are lacking. The hotel is run down, old, and definitely could use an upgrade. Their pool is outside and their "gym" is a joke. They have like 3 machines and they are old and run down as well. The odor throughout the hotel smelled like old, sweaty clothing that never made it to the washing machine, and the AC wasn't working in the hallways. The computer didn't work either. What exactly worked there?? It was a mess. The room I was in had a dingy, soiled chair and the room smelled like Mexican food, stinky feet and cigarettes. I thought it was non-smoking. Someone missed the memo. The shower was gross and I didn't sleep well at all. It was just too much riffraff in there & I didn't feel safe. I wasn't familiar with the area, but now that I know better, I'd choose to stay in Concord or even further out next time. My interview was in Kannapolis & I wasn't to stay close. Lesson learned. On a good note, the hotel is right next to the the interstate, so if you have to leave quickly, it is right there. They have a mini fridge and microwave in the room. They even offer breakfast, but I didn't want it because NO ONE in that hotel was wearing a mask but me. It was so weird. I guess they don't have Covid there. Just be safe if you go there. Bring some mace or something to protect yourself. It's some really weird characters hanging around out there.

Ending up choosing Country Inn & Suites because of the pricing and distance from the arena. Ended up being a great choice overall. Pros The staff at the hotel were absolutely amazing. Both the lady that checked us in and the one who checked us out were truly amazing people and made the experience much better. I would say they alone carry a star if not two stars of positivity. Everything was clean and stocked in the room itself. We were also told at check in that if we needed anything else, to simply reach out to the front desk and it would be taken care of. Superb customer service. And while the layout of the room was strange, it had everything we needed. We only stayed for the night, but there were no major complaints to be had. Cons The rooms do not block sound from the hallway or other rooms well. We could hear conversations outside the room quite clearly and noises did not break apart well when coming through the door/walls. Appliances and amenities were a bit dated in the room itself. While none of them were broken or "bad" they could use some updating to stay more current. Overall a great experience for a superb price. Would come back again! 3.5 Country Comfort Stars out of 5!

I was charged $460.14 for a two-night stay in a BED BUG infested hotel. I awoke after the first night to a bed bug in bed with me. I immediately gathered my items and family and checked out of the hotel. At check in NO ONE informed me the hotel had bed bugs; if they had, we would not have stayed here. The hotel says they would refund me my money for the night not stayed however, it has been 14 days and I have NOT received a refund to date. I have asked to be refunded the night stayed due to the bed bug infestation and was told that an exterminator had to come, inspect, write a report and if the report noted there were bed bugs, only then would I get my refund back. I have called the hotel and the exterminator has come out however the hotel conveniently has not received the report. The are likely still putting guests in room 215 were there are bed bugs. Each time I have tried to speak with mangers Ashely or Jordan they are busy. The day of my check out, both refused to talk with me when I was onsite (outside of course because I refuse to step foot back in that place) and they instead decided to do yard maintenance telling their staff "if she wants to talk with me she need to come out here" as they continue to do yard work. When Ashley finally turned off her blower to talk with me, I told her what happened and she said "yeah we have bed bugs we get that complaint all the time." She was not aware however that I had their corporate office on the line who heard the whole conversation. My purpose of this review is to inform others to NOT stay here, they have BED BUGS and their managers are RUDE and care nothing about good customer service. Of note, I tried to upload my pictures of the bed bug and the managers doing yardwork but the platform will not allow it. I also have video of it all and if it allows, I will upload the videos. Unless you want to sleep with bed bugs, DO NOT EVER STAY HERE. I will make an update if I ever get a refund for my stay in the BED BUG infested hotel.

All the "Excellent" reviews are right on the money. Mike, the manager, is a wonderful host offering assistance in anyway and good friendly conversation. The first time I spoke with Mike was over the phone early in the day before our arrival. I explained that I was traveling with a group of other women and that we would like rooms next to each other. Done in a flash. Mike pre-checked us in for our rooms without question. Thanks Mike! Upon entering the rooms the cleanliness was obvious from the start; no perfume smell covering up "other" smells like in other hotel rooms. I always head to the bathroom first, after a somewhat long drive. I have to say, and my friends all agreed, that the bathroom floor was the cleanest I have ever come across in a hotel room, absolutely sparkling! No fear walking barefoot in the room here. One problem I often have is the water pressure in the shower. I was totally surprised to find that the shower head had the perfect water pressure to insure a good wash and rinse and, even better, the tub did not fill up with water because of clogged drains. Just like being at home. The Days Inn Concord is in a very safe area, as one might worry when traveling to a new town without knowing, with even the popular NASCAR teams parking their car trailers behind the hotel at a well known trailer building/repairing facility obviously without worries. There is a nice sized pool, too cold for our visit, and a yard off the pool plenty large enough for even throwing a frisbee. Directly next door is a gas station/convenience store with an attached restaurant which looked to be quite popular. Across the interstate a McDonald's and a Waffle House. One exit south would be a shopper's dream with all the stores one could think to visit. NHRA (I'm a member) & NASCAR fans, make this your choice of hotels for the races as it is the perfect location with less traffic than you are going to get at the other exits. Very comfortable and relaxing, clean and just plain perfect.
