This location is near a very busy interchange between I-435 and State Line Road. Quite the crossroads. It's nice inside, not overly fancy yet well-kept. Not a cheap eatery, but it's Italian cuisine done right. Seeing any restaurant rather busy amidst the rush of 103rd & State Line weekday traffic is a good sign, and it was slightly hectic, to the point one server mixed up a couple of orders. Fortunately, an astute diner caught the error before it mattered. Seeing orders lined up around meal times is a sign that the business is thriving, and clearly it is. The food didn't disappoint, either. I was here for their cannoli, and they even had more than one style when I visited. Wanting to be sort of a purist, I chose the Sicilian variety (to share with my Sicilian friend who, like me, LOVES cannoli) and they were great. I shall return to try other options here. Four and a half rounds up to five stars.

The Dolly Parton Cannoli was the best along with the lasagna and spaghetti. My wife & I look…read moreforward going back again!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Jovito's yet! This is one of the best places for Italian…read moresandwiches in KC! Mostly a carry-out business, but they have some tables squeezed into their tiny inside space, and there are some nice outdoor tables on their patio! They have some Italian treats and specialties for sale inside too. Fair warning, they close at 7 pm, so not a late night place! The folks at Jovitos are so kind. This is one of those places where you will strike up a genuine conversation with the employees behind the register and leave feeling like family! I love the pesto chicken sandwich and the meatball grinder! There's usually parking on the street out in front of the tiny building, but the street can get kind of busy on weekends with other busy places down the street. There's also the big parking lot across the street if needed.

I have found both at Jovito's. Their meatball grinder (I ordered the Motorworks) is "throw down the fork" quality. The flavors fight each other and land with you on a transcendent level. It is also incredibly easy to handle because the filling is stuffed into an Italian roll, rather than between two pieces of bread. It has a small, hole-in-the-wall feel to it and that makes it even better. You feel like you are pulling up to a walk-up sandwich joint but with the quality of an established, family-owned Italian fine dining establishment. Couldn't recommend more.

I didn't see the water, and slipped and indeed fell quite hard. I'm youngish and spry, and was able to bounce back, and am just sore and achy. But nobody made any comment to me or expressed any concern (other than other guests). I in fact had to report the incident after flagging someone down, and nobody offered as much as an apology or asked if I was ok. I'm honestly glad it was me rather than an older person, as the outcome could have been rough. The food at McLain's is consistently good. I don't care for their coffee or espresso, but it's just not to my taste, I don't think it's poor quality. Bottom line, I think they could work on their soft skills regarding their guests (particularly when potential injuries are on the table). That said, do get a chicken salad sandwich from them. Maybe just order it to go...

We saw a jersey mikes in the area so we decided to place an online order and head that way. We arrived past the quoted pick up time but the order wasn't prepared yet. They were pretty busy with several online orders and walk in customers. The employees were friendly despite being swamped. I always get the number 9 on Rosemary Parmesan bread and this was exactly what I was expecting and in line with previous orders at other locations. I do ask them to remove the onions because I'm just not a fan and on this occasion it was missed. Not a huge deal because I just removed them myself but I appreciate when they just omit it. The space wasn't the largest but there were a few tables and it seemed relatively clean. I'd definitely grab a sandwich and recommend them to anyone in the area.

These sandwiches aren't cheap and ordering online where the instructions are printed in front of their faces you wouldn't think it would be a difficult thing to do. But lo and behold the last 4 orders it's wrong every time and they are slow. When they do mess up there is no remorse just attitude. The order before this they ran out of white bread in the early afternoon. Since it was for my kid and he is picky he wouldn't eat anything else, I got the most attitude about requesting a refund instead it almost turned me off forever. But today I decided to give them another chance and try them again. Never again. Ordered 2 giant subs and just requested them plain. Somehow that was too much but after coming back to the store and informing them, it was an inconvenience to request the sandwiches made correctly. Was I pushed to the front of the online orders? Nope. So the entire point of ordering online was defeated because I ended up waiting over an hour between the 2 times having to go that I could and should have gone somewhere else. Once I got my food, it was wrapped so poorly that half of the turkey sandwich I ordered was at the bottom of the bag. Going to go somewhere the customers are actually appreciated
