One of my favorite bars to go to watch games and enjoy friends and family , but Alex is a great host and always attends our needs and I love what he's doing with the place making it a local trust worthy sports bar where we can come like we home and drink and always makes sure we are safe but man you got to see it for yourself so let's gooooooo midddddwaayy!!!!!!

Anytime I come to midway on the weekend I always expect to come to Scarlett's great energy!! Other than the bar being just a great place to just hang out out and wind out the hospitality from all the host are amazing! Shout out to Alex for taking care of me when the girls are not. If you want to wind and take some drinks and catch up with the neighborhood midway is the spot to be at! Cheap drink great service and a friendly crowd. Now much more you can for now and days!

Second time here amazing place. Best of all Scarlett has a very good vibe. She is very attentive... Very good experience so far, coming back for sure.

I just dropped off my niece and nephew in bellflower after a long day hanging out with them at knotts berry farm. When you hang out with two kids under 10... sometimes you just need to get a drink after a long day. I found the midway bar on bellflower and just stopped for a quick drink. The bartender, Scarleth... wow. Thank you for for making me happy I don't have kids that young. The beers are great... but she was awesome. I ended up staying till 12:30am. FYI.. I don't go out after 9:30 anymore. lol I felt young again. read more

Been coming here for a while, I live down the street so it's my local bar, nice spot to chill have a drink and watch some games or just kick back. Highly recommend coming through with your group, it does get packed on the weekends, but there's more space in the back when you want to take a break. read more

The midway bar is one of those bars that if you want to go somewhere with great vibes, great beers, and great service this is where you go. Being 20 minutes away I didn't know what to expect when I came here... this girl I was interested in told me to meet me there... and I did it. I visited the The Midway for the first time and ordered a few beers from the bartender Alicia. She had a welcoming personality and checked in regularly to make sure I had everything I needed without being overbearing. Her positive attitude and professionalism really enhanced the experience. On top of that, she is incredibly attractive which certainly didn't hurt. The atmosphere at Midway was great, and Alicia's outstanding customer service is a big reason I'll be coming back. Highly recommend stopping by for a drink and experiencing the great hospitality. read more

This bar was nice & chill not until I stepped into the bathroom, there was urine on the seat & floor so watch out ladies! At one point he didn't have seltzers available so I brought my own but with his permission which was cool. On several occasions I had to remind Alex that I was done with my drink. Talk about good customer service sheesh. Alex is an 8-hole, rude & disrespectful. It was closing time & I was finishing up my water, grab it out of my hands n threw it out. He aggressively shoved me & my friend out of the bar. He said want me to call the cops? There's no alcohol in my system! It seems like Alex isn't happy working there because everyone else is having a great time. This is my experience at midway bar. read more

Awesome bar! It reopened and it's been great. We LOVE the bartender. He makes every customer feel like family. We used to come back in the day before it closed down due to covid, and we weren't sure how it was gonna be when we first returned but the moment we walked in, the bartender was welcoming and made us feel at home. Hidden gem! Used to come here a few years back and when the pandemic hit I thought it wouldn't reopen.. Happy it's back. Lots of tv's and a refreshed interior, not to mention a great atmosphere. They serve ice cold beer off tap, tall cans and an assortment of seltzers. and the BEST micheladas!!! Alex is a great bartender and has a welcoming vibe, makes you feel right at home. I've been coming to this bar for over a year as my girlfriend was the one that introduced me to it. She mentioned she loved the environment and the beer selection and I can honestly say I love the atmosphere of this bar. It's, lively, welcoming, and has great beer . The bartender, Alex, is very welcoming and makes an effort to personally welcome you and over the year has built a friendly relationship not only with me but with other usual customers. Sports games are always running from basketball, football and baseball. The World Series was by far a great event. When the dodgers won the World Series Alex gave free shots to everyone at the bar I even bought a round myself. UFC fights and boxing fights are always on and he NEVER charges for you to come and watch like other places asking for $10-$20 fee at the door. If you're looking for a bar where you want to just kick back and enjoy a beer or if you want a bar where you want to enjoy some good music, sports, or ambiance this is definitely the place for you. read more

This bar has really gone down the drain in the past few years. Alex the bartender, who claims to be the owner, is rude, unprofessional and aggressive. He will get an order wrong or charge you extra for things you did not order, but when you try to dispute it he will try to physically fight you. Be careful opening a tab because he will claim he doesn't have your card when you try to close it. It's best to avoid putting your safety at risk and go to any of the other bars down the street. read more

They do however have an ATM inside but I always find the cash only stance to be a bit of a hassle due to fees. Overall, this is a nice local dive bar that I'd possibly revisit in the future.

We stopped by late Saturday night and were able to snag an immediate walk-in at the bar at Hao Peng You, which is the intimate speakeasy portion of Midnight Oil. The decor definitely reminded me of my grandparents' house in Taiwan, with vintage, ornate wooden chairs, dragon/lion statue carvings, and even a historic century old marital bed that had been repurposed into a booth. The drinks were also VERY unique, with my favorite being Hua sheng (literally meaning peanut), which was crafted from a nostalgic childhood peanut milk drink. All our cocktails were crafted very well, to the point where I thought they were a bit on the lighter side since I couldn't really taste the alcohol. This section does get really busy though and only had one bartender who is making/serving drinks and taking orders, so do expect a bit of a wait. Overall, highly recommend checking out this vibey vintage Taiwanese-inspired speakeasy (that my inner history nerd was so excited about), and I'll definitely be back to try their food items as well as their two other bar/restaurant concepts!

It's a IYKYK kind of place here. We didn't know about it as we were here meeting some friends for…read moredrinks. They made all the reservations. Honestly thought it was the bar that we came inside. First impression, why did we need reservations.... Since we didn't know the hidden entrance. Well, it's a cool concept once we entered. There's a dress code so be advised. What I found out was the entrance of the speakeasy was through a phone booth that next to the pool table of Roxanne's bar. Once reservations is made, you'll received an email with a password to enter. Enter phone booth and to connect to the inside and they'll open the door for you. We had the first reservations I believe they opened at 7pm. We were the first group to arrive. As it was my first time, we had ordered bar food and were waiting for it inside the main bar. So half an hour was used from our time limit. The speakeasy, dark and moody but perfect for the place. Special crafted cocktails by the bartenders which were great. They also have food as well, found out later. We did try the meat pie, which it was just ok. Basically an empanadas, the pickle veggies accompanied it was my favorite. It was good but nothing major to rave about. The drinks were quite nice and tasty. What they offered on the menu did have a load of good choices. Tables scattered throughout as well as bar seating. There's a piano which maybe used for live music. Overall, the moody speakeasy vibe was great. Friendly staff and bartender made some great drinks. What we had to snack on, the meat pie was just ok. They're very strict with the time limits. Once it's reached they'll let you know.

It was fun, but super hard to get a drink because there were only three bartenders working. By the time you made it through the wall of people to the bar, it was so loud that it was almost impossible to communicate your order. People were living for karaoke and it definitely seems to be on a regular rotation for some of the patrons. The Blind Donkey is definitely a place that you need to check out if you are in town and want a fun evening.

If you have friends who don't like raw fish, they also have a good selection of cooked items - tempura, chicken teriyaki, udon noodles, etc. There's really something for everyone. They have a bunch of TVs and will usually have the game on if there is one. There's also a lot of street parking and free parking lots around since it's Downtown Bellflower. If you like good sushi for a good price, then Kikyo's definitely a place to check out.

For music lovers, the bar has a jukebox where you can play your favorite tunes, but if no one's playing, Alex's playlist is always on point.
