With an overkill of drugstores in this area, which one should you choose? I chose Pharmachoice. Physically, this location is so close to everything, it's walkable or easy parkable, and easy in and out. The staff is incredibly personable, they deliver prescriptions if you need it -who does that anymore? They'll order in anything for you if it doesn't happen to be on the shelf. While waiting for prescriptions I shop for snacks, milk, tissue products, and do not buy shower scubbies for $4 in the red and white drugstore, get them here for $1.29 including a suction cup to stick it on the shower wall. They always have something you need on special, so I try to go in every week to catch in. And, Perks! Collect the Perks, and trade them in for gift cards or Timmies cards, or save 'em up for the bi-annual draws. The nicest, most kind thing that they do is allow my dog into the store. I am always walking, and since a walk is a waste without a dog, she would wait outside...the owner pretty much insisted I bring her in. So we are huge fans. Love our dog, we heart you!

I used this pharmacy for the first time because my vet sent my pet's medication there. There was a bit of delay sending the prescription (vet was busy), so the Medicine Shoppe said they would call themselves and inquire. There was no need for them to do that, but it was a nice bonus! Then they didn't have the flavour the vet had requested, so we went through the flavours available until we found one my pet would love (staff was very entertained haha). When we went back the next day, the prescription still wasn't ready. We were fine with waiting around 15-20 minutes, but instead the staff (Mo) offered to DELIVER the medication directly to our house when it was ready!! My mind was blown, I have never heard of a pharmacy doing that. Cherry on top was when I was informed that there was a tiny bit extra meds in the bottle because with pets you often spill or lose a bit in administering. We dealt with a few different staff members in this time and all of them were so incredibly accomodating. I will be looking into transferring all my prescriptions (human and pet) here in the near future.

I started shopping No Frills because a lot of the same products as AS, but better pricing. Now I shop almost exclusively at Walmart and NoFrills. I will add there seems to be price-creep at NoFrills and if they don't watch it, I'll give all of my business to Walmart and a few independent small stores. I'm never going back to AS or Sobeys - their greed is unconscionable! I feel for folks who don't have any other options.

Problem for me...none of my local friends or family have been. But Helen, my favorite checkout lady at Sobey's, in a few of our chats over the last couple of years has mentioned Dr Katherine MacAdam and told me she was a miracle worker. And she is! Just a few sessions with this very professional, very bubbly chiropractor and I'm a new woman. Plus she has a couple of amazing massage therapists in her office too...but that's another Yelp story.

On July 29th of this year I took my glasses into Bedford Eye Care because one of the arms was about…read moreto fall off. I was told the frame was actually broken and a new frame needed to be ordered. The glasses were given back and I was told I would hear from them within a week. On August 6th I called and was told the frames were not in. By this time one of the arms had fallen off and the other arm was hanging by a thread. On the 13th of August I called and, once again, the frames were not in. I no longer could wear the glasses as both arms had now fallen off. I was experiencing headaches from straining my eyes. Kathleen, the person I spoke to on the phone, suggested I come in to see what they could do for me. I went in and met with Leslie. She was a lifesaver! She searched for a suitable pair of frames that my lenses would fit into. I could use these while I waited for the new frames to arrive. It was a lengthy process but she eventually found a pair. Leslie assured me she would look into the whole situation and two days later I was back in and Leslie had my new frames. She quickly replaced the lenses and I was good to go. I can't thank Leslie enough for everything she did to rectify the problem. I was so impressed with her professional manner and her determination to turn a very negative situation into a positive outcome. So I just had an eye exam. And well, my eyes suck and I know that…read more Mostly everyone at the Family Vision Clinic was very friendly and accommodating. I had a standard exam with a contact refit, I have been wearing contacts for almost 10 years, but this did not matter. I had to pay $25 for a "trial" pair, and I am supposed to return in a few weeks to make sure they are ok before I can order some new ones. The bf also had a standard exam plus contact training as he has never worn them before. It cost him $75 for someone to tell him to put the thing in and take it out 3 times, he wasn't helpful at all. I think I could have taught him better. I understand why there is training, but why must it cost so much, especially when the dude wasn't helpful? On a side note it was painful for me to watch my bf struggling with his lenses (but yet funny too) Oh and they could not direct bill either of our medical insurance companies (Manulife, Greatwest Life) which is fine, we can send in claims but noteworthy. Don't expect to find cheap glasses here, they are all designer frames. I almost bought a pair of Burberry, then I noticed Armani, then Gucci.. you can just imagine how much I could have spent on glasses. Now you must excuse me while I go help my newly contacted bf get his lenses out.
