Had I not saught help in the medical context with Dr. Feliciano at the Med Station for my disease of alcoholism thirteen years ago, I would not be alive today. I was an alcoholic from 16-36. 3 of my grandparents were alcoholics. The disease is in my DNA and genes and always will be. There is no cure for alcoholism, only treatment and rehabilitation. I would never have survived to the age I am today if the astute health professionals at the Med Station make it possible for me to pick myself up out of the gutter of the bowery and instead live a life with dignity, health, and hope. I came in simply needing a refill on my long-term prescription -- I've been on the same medication for over 20 years. I was just here about three months ago for the exact same reason. Despite that, I ended up waiting 2 hours and 28 minutes to be seen. The waiting area was full of people coughing and sneezing, which made the long wait even more uncomfortable. When I was finally called in, all they did was take my blood pressure and weight -- no blood work, no physical exam, no discussion about how I've been doing on the medication. The doctor spent almost no time with me and did absolutely nothing beyond the basics. It's incredibly frustrating to spend that much time and money just to get a simple refill, with no real medical attention or care provided. This office seriously needs to improve its efficiency and respect for patients' time. Zero !!! read more

My recent visit to MedStation was concerning due to the unprofessional demeanor of the phlebotomist, Kiara. She had a strong odor of both bar and dispensary, which is highly inappropriate for a healthcare professional. This experience significantly detracts from the establishment's reputation and raises questions about the standards of care. Dr. Feliciano is stoic, uncaring. She is one of those doctors that throws antidepressants on everything for women in particular. She is in and out of room. I have had hit or miss days with staff. Like 10 yrs ago patients usually saw doctors at the old location. PAs and NPs are now the main practitioners to save the clinics money. They are not even close to doctors. One told me they didn't know anything about gastritis, a pretty common stomach ailment. Another was angry & inappropriate when I questioned something. There are now urgent cares everywhere. Go there. Med station is a last resort if there is absolutely no where else. read more

Also since she wasn't able to take me in she recommended me to another place. GAVE ME THEIR NUMBER AND ALL. but guess what. She gave me WRONG number. Genuinely the rudest staff. I should not be scared to call my doctors office to follow up on something because I'm scared of how I will be spoken to by who picks up. I went to this doctor when I was having health issues and they were great. They asked if I had any concerns regarding anything else, at the time I didn't. Now that they are my PCP and I go back for follow ups and raise concerns, they do not want to help because they do not want to do the job to find a pharmacy that has medication in stock. I have been very happy with this place as a walk in clinic. I have had Covid nasal swabs here every 14 days for a year. Plus they correctly diagnosed an odd presentation of shingles and got me on the antiviral in time for the shingles to be kept in check. Not always happy with the masking of the staff, masks sliding below their nose seems careless in a pandemic in a busy clinic. But basically happy with them as a urgent care community facility. read more

Never been a fan of urgent care but I got kicked out of my Pcp bc i am over age :(, I needed a physical done and Dr Feliciano was quick nice & professional. Also some places have rude MA's and honestly there are 3 young ladies that do the role of a MA & receptionist they do an amazing job, also they keep it very professional and never experienced uncomfortable moment the times I have been at this location. Wish a no star review was even possible. Staff is so rude they literally give you the biggest attitude. Was feeling so sick waited 45 minutes past my appointment for a test. Then asked the lady if the doctor will call me she said if we are busy call us in 15 minutes. So that means the doctor won't follow up!l?? Then called back got my results and asked to speak to a doctor. She told me the doctor would call me... well they never called. They have zero regard for people who are truly sick. The lady who answers the phone literally sounds like she is sleeping. I do not recommend going to this place because they truly don't care about their patients. I am disgusted by The Med Station. First we called to set up an appointment for our immigration physical ( my wife called ) and we were told we didn't need an appointment just come in anytime . That was odd to me so I had asked another family member to call to make sure . They did and we received the same info . I also called later on and again , same info. So today I was able to take off work and take my wife . Meanwhile my mom also woke up with her knee swollen to 2-3 times the normal size so we took her along with us to get her knee checked as she was in tremendous pain and can't walk due to the knee . We arrive and there is not one parking spot . Not one . Things happen but the location of the place isn't the best so there is literally no other place to park . So I wait In the lot as my wife goes in first as I try to pull up close to the door since my mom can't walk . There were other people not able to park so we had to just keep on circling around this odd shaped parking lot . Before we can get close I see my wife walk out . She says "they said the doctor I see is only in on Weds " Why would they tell me to come in anytime when they say the doctor who performs the immigration physical is only in on Weds ? So I call and I ask nicely ( but I'm annoyed ) why I was told to come anytime yet they know the required doctor is only there 1 day a week? The rude woman on the phone says "they should have told you "... so I explain that I had to take an unpaid day off work and we planned this so wouldn't it be a good idea to let all employees know that they can't tell people just to show up anytime when that is completely false info?? The rude woman says "well it wasn't me "... and after that she hung up on me a few moments later . Not even allowing me to finish. I was shocked . I call back and the same woman , who speaks like a complete pig to patients and family , laughs ... yes , laughs at us ( we are seeking medical attention for my moms and wife ) hangs up on me again . So I call again and tell her she is rude and acts like a pig ... because that is exactly how she acted . Luckily there is a Northwell Health Urgent Care about 60 maybe 90 seconds away and they have parking so you don't have to walk 500 yards to make it to the building entrance like The Med Station . Northwell also treated my mom very kindly and nobody laughed at us for having a medical issue and for having been given WRONG info . Go to Northwell and stay far away from this place that thinks your family medical issues are funny. This happened today sept 17 2021 at approx 10:30am so hopefully if someone from Med station actually cares they can discipline this woman who not only insulted my family but did the exact opposite of what true medical professionalism is . Go to Northwell down the road next to 7-11 and Ralph's Italian Ices. You will be treated with care and respect unlike Mes Station who has a pig working who thinks your hardships are fun. Hopefully they listen to the recording of the call. Worst medical experience ever . The funny think is when we went to Northwell there was a woman there who was also a patient and we spoke and she had a very similar experience with Med Station as far as rudeness and had info goes and that is why she was now at Northwell . I have used the med station in the past for physicals for my commercial driver's license and never had a problem. I have since retired on disability and used them for COVID testing. The first couple of tests were no problem...I'm have Medicare and aarp supplemental so I didn't have to pay anything. December 21, 2020 I went for another test ...this time I needed the rapid test because we wanted to be safe for Christmas, I was told i would have to pay $90 for the test but I would be reimbursed when they got paid from Medicare...I was told it could take up to a month to get my refund. I noticed Medicare and AARP reimbursed med station on my next Medicare summary. I called med station looking for my refund...I was told Ernie was processing it. After a few more weeks I called to see what was going on. They finally sent me a refund bit not for the full amount i had to call again to get my $90 refund....although they billed my insurance $180. As I was going through this bullshit my wife gets a bill in the mail for $40 from the med station for a consultation ......meanwhile she never went there. When she called to see what it was about she was told she had a consultation with the doctor. Her " consultation "was when Ernie called her back to make an appointment.....since when does it cost $40 to make an appointment??? He asked why she wanted to be tested and if she was exposed. Ernie then told her "EVERYTHING CANT BE FOR FREE"....he doesn't know that we pay for her insurance OUT OF OUR POCKET....I GUESS THEY ARE NOT MAKING ENOUGH MONEY FROM THE COVID-19 TESTING THAT THEY HAVE TO SCAM PEOPLE FOR PAYMENT. I'm sure if I didn't follow up for my refund I never would have gotten it. I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE DIDNT FOLLOW UP. It seems like something fugazy is going on there. I have been going here most of my life for almost everything "sick" related. They have always cared for me with my best interests in mind, getting me back to 100 ASAP! Doctors have changed over the years but I'm still treated the same no matter who is caring for me. The new office is beautiful! WiFi? Oh yeaaaah! The young ladies at the front desk always have a great big smile when I arrive making me feel comfortable and welcomed! Doctors are always up for questions and doing whatever is possible to help. Nice , I have never once had an issue when going there , they have always been polite and easy going . Of course you get the impatient people who feel they should be going before everyone and if the waiting room is empty , they just be playing games in the back and Ignoring patients , that's a load of BS , I have zero tolerance and patience , and a very short fuse, I would NOT be going here for a decade if any of these BS negative reviews were true . I found my experience to be completely unacceptable. I went in for a physical where Dr. Feliciano barely examined me. On top of that, she kept trying to get me to take a blood test to see if I have diabetes or high cholesterol. At 22 years old feeling healthy and in shape, there is no reason to have such tests done. I found Dr. Feliciano to be extremely rude and condescending when I refused the blood test. Afterwards I requested a copy of my immunizations which proved to be an impossible task for Dr. Feliciano and her staff. I know the Med Station has a record of all my immunizations because I have asked and received all my records before from them. However this time they gave me none of the records I asked for and told me they did not have my records. Did they get lost?! I am new to Long Island having moved here from Queens. The med station is an extremely professional medical office who does everything in their power to make the patients comfortable as they wait to be seen by the doctor. The doctors are thorough, compassionate and efficient. They will answer all questions and will never make you feel like you are being rushed out of the office. The office has always been unbelievably clean and presentable. The fact that you can walk in without an appointment is just incredible. There's actually nothing 'urgent' about them! Always take there time, leave you waiting and guessing, don't listen, and then give you the wrong prescription. I took my son in when his seemingly basic head cold developed a deep cough overnight. Dr. Feliciano barely spent any time with him, diagnosed him with Pertussis, asked to do a blood test (which is not the correct lab to diagnose whooping cough, it's a nasal swab). I refused the blood test which would not have confirmed the very serious & contagious illness she was diagnosing. She prescribed the correct medication but didn't include how many days it should be taken and when I called back to ask about the duration, noticed that she didn't prescribe enough of the medication to fulfill her late recommendation. That evening, with the hasty diagnosis of a serious communicable illness that my son was fully vaccinated against, I decided I needed a second opinion. I took him to the Glen Cove Hospital where an x-ray showed a serious case of pneumonia in his lung and he was quickly transferred to Cohen's children's hospital, admitted and given IV antibiotics. I am not impressed by her hasty and reckless diagnosis, lack of knowledge about the proper lab work required to definitively diagnose such an illness and blatant disregard for seeking the facts about an illness, that if it is a confirmed case of pertussis, it must be reported to the CDC, as it's extremely dangerous for infants and ridiculously contagious. I understand that everyone makes mistakes, but this was far more than a simple mistake. I will not be going back. read more

I've been a client of The Med Station for years upon years and always enjoyed my interactions with both staff and doctors alike, until today. I went in this afternoon and met with Sabrina and pleaded my case for some prescription cough medicine to combat my horrible cough that has kept me up for two successive nights and to my surprise, she would not budge on her insistence that no cough medicine was needed. After a little more insistence on my part, she gave in a wrote me out a script. I was ecstatic knowing that sweet dreams were in my near future until taking a dose than two and realizing it didn't do a Damn thing! Now I have another night of restless cough filled sleep and a revelation. FYI, the revelation is that Sabrina never truly believed me and upon doing some inquisitive research I was given a child's dose of cough medicine. Why? I don't know why but what I do know is that the Med Station has lost a long time client. I hope you choose wisely when considering the Med Station, so you don't suffer the same fate. read more

I will never go back to this clinic. My 2 year old was misdiagnosed and given a prescription for an antibiotic that had absolutely no effect. When I went for a follow up with my pediatrician, he was astounded at the diagnosis, and had to prescribe yet another antibiotic. When I asked for a refund of the fee I paid, I was turned down. The doctors are ok but the reception staff is the worst of any office I've been to. Rude and trashy girls that do not care about patients. I called at 6:40 asking if I could being my wife in for a strep test. She couldn't swallow. The person on the phone said I could being her right down, they don't close until 7. We were right around the block and got there 6:48. Walked in and the receptionist just barked "CLOSED" at us. As I started to explain that I just called and only needed a strep test she cut me off mid sentence again with "CLOSED" while not even looking at us. Then the other receptionist said "we'll there's no doctors here anyway". Luckily there was a doc in the hallway who overheard us and said she would do the test (which took 5 minutes). Afterwords, they charged me $10 more than I was quoted over the phone and said "I'm doing you a favor by not charging you a new patient fee". Oh, thanks a lot! I have been a patient at The Med Station for more years that I would like to admit - but, it has been a l. o. n. g time. From colds to the flu to nasty cold sores; from pimples to prostate exams; from cuts and scrapes to broken bones, the crew at 'The Station' has ALWAYS treated me with respect and the utmost professionalism. The front desk staff are friendly, caring, attentive and knowledgeable - the very definition of competency. Nurses are the backbone of any medical facility and nurse Maria is The Med Station's treasure. In addition, she leads a staff of nurses that are unmatched - anywhere. And while The Station went through the expected "growing pains" at the new location, Dr. Feliciano has her staff and the facility operating at the highest level of medical care. She will go the extra mile to care for her patients and she and the other doctors at The Station are exactly what local Long Island communities need. The Med Station used to be top drawer, but not for the last five years.The owner of the practice, Dr. Russell H Samuel, a decent physician and personable guy, smart enough to address your problem, and spot other potentially dangerous conditions. Unfortunately none of these skills are utilized when it comes to hiring staff. The best of them are dead on the inside. The mediocre ones are prone to behaviors which intentionally or or not, make clear to patients that they are a huge nuisance. The worst of them are intentionally malevolent. Encountering shitty medical workers once in a while is fairly common, but this sort of overt hostility was first for me, and my daughter as well. I stopped going a few years ago for this reason but also because I felt somewhere along the way Dr. Samuel became a dismissive misanthrope. However because the location was convenient for us at the time, I dropped my daughter off for a routine blood test required by her university. She is a stoic and, if anything, under-sensitive person. When I picked her up she was in tears. She told me that she was openly mocked, which is hard for me to understand because she is so patient, respectful & polite. When pressed she wouldn't give details. Anyway- unhappy ending. TWELVE needle marks on one arm. One of these bled on and off for 24 hours so badly that her entire lower inner arm was deeply bruised and swollen for nearly two weeks. I have been going here 4 or 5 times a year for the last several years for help with various chronic and acute issues. The front desk staff isn't as overtly-solicitous and helpful as they are at, say, CityMD, where they hire people from retail stores and train them to look you in the eye, actively ask how they can help you feel better today, etc. Here, you're going to walk to the counter and they are going to be looking down at papers and such and won't acknowledge you until they are ready to speak to you, but they are friendly-enough and they don't ignore you for long. (This is a common issue with untrained customer-facing staff -- unless trained, they don't know that all you have to do is look the customer in the eye and say, "Hi, welcome! I will be right with you." and go back to their work.) The nurses are all very nice, the PAs are all very nice and very competent, and they have accurately diagnosed and treated everything I have brought to them. The price is VERY reasonable for a quality walk-in clinic. They happily take phone calls to answer follow-up questions, they have an online system that lets you look at your chart and test results, etc. The place seems to run very efficiently. The major benefit is CONVENIENCE: when you need a doctor, you don't need an appointment, you just show up at the Med Station and get in the queue. They have enough staff on duty during predictably-busy times for the queue to move quickly. I have rarely waited any more than 10 minutes to be brought into an examination room. That's better than most doctors with whom I have made an appointment to see!! I have had blood regularly drawn here, and the staff has always done it quick and professionally. This practice used to be very good, but has become disastrous within the last couple of years, due to both office staff and physicians' assistants who don't do their jobs. I have gone twice within the last six months and should have known better after the first of the most recent experiences. Once, I had blood work done that showed that I had a condition that I had described concern about to the PA I saw and related family history. I was not advised of the result -- only found out about it as I asked for a copy of the blood work several weeks later. The PA's casual response was "well, we don't put people on medication for this" as an explanation for not having advised of the result. I told her that it's important medical information of which I should be aware in order to PREVENT disease from developing. I went in two days ago and need approval for a CAT scan for a different issue. After 48 hours, when I called for the approval number that I need in order to make the appointment, the office manager had only put in the call to the insurance company when I called. (I know this because I called my insurance company and they told me that the request had only been put in 15 minutes ago -- hmm, interesting coincidence -- right when I had called for it). The PA who saw me's explanation this time is that the office manager is very busy. If the office manager is SO BUSY (more likely that she isn't doing her job) that she can't put in medical test requests for three days plus, then your office is clearly understaffed. This practice better hope that this test doesn't show anything serious -- hello, malpractice. read more
