They do appear to be doing some of their own roasting which is great, but their breadth of cultivars and roasts is not as expansive as some other local roasters but they are more than adequate to serve their immediate community and I would recommend this place over all the other within several miles of this area. Prices are decent too. It's definitely a big step up from any coffee house chains. My biggest complaint is the parking. There's a total of like 4 spots and one of them is handicap. I almost left without going in because I didn't know what to do with my car. Overall 4/5 for sure Id go back

It was lighter than it would have been full of milk. Thanks!!) There are mostly two- or three-tops scattered around the scant seating area, with a few comfy chairs around. There is a nice but small collection of snacks in the cabinet, but neither of us felt the need for food. The music was generic enough to not distract or call attention to itself. There is one very large, non-gendered restroom, well stocked and very accessible for those using assistive devices. It's a bold move to open a coffee shop a stone's throw from Cocoa Cinnamon, but I must say that Nectar has nailed the basics well, and may cater to a little different niche. I got here on a dreary rainy day. It was slow but the shop still felt cozy with a few seating options throughout, including a comfy sofa in the back and some outdoor seating. The staff greeted me warmly, and my drink and pastry were served quickly. I ordered a seasonal berry latte, which was perfectly balanced between tangy and sweet. The barista was very thoughtful, managed to make it cold but with very little ice so I could sip it slowly throughout the day. I also tried the spinach feta danish, and to my surprise, it was the best one I've had in the area! I'd love to come back and hope more people discover this charming spot!

I started off by ordering a latte and one of the pastries (brie with hot honey and carrots). I was a little frustrated with how long it took to get my order - I'm pretty sure it was at least 10 minutes. The pastry sounded good in theory but it actually didn't taste super great, unfortunately. Later, I ordered an iced matcha tea latte and it was pretty darn good. Everything was a little expensive but I kind of expected that :) There are some outlets along one of the walls so you can plug in your laptop, which is nice. Overall, I'd consider coming back here to grab a coffee and do some work, but I'd recommend people be patient since the orders may take a while to come out.

I thought this one waffle wouldn't be enough for dinner, but I was surprisingly full eating half! Guess they don't call it protein waffle for nothing! Service was nice. Not too many people for a Friday afternoon, but the workers were quick to bring our waffle out. Step up from a Keurig. But, everything is free and there is a nice seating area. This place is part of SSRI, and Gross, the building it is in, is in the last stages of being renovated. So there still is some construction going on. The space with the cafe has a lot of associated meeting spaces and is pretty much surrounded by small classrooms/meeting rooms. I'm not sure how much SSRI will use these areas one they are fully moved in, but for now it is a pretty nice area for a break or some reading (if you can deal with some background noise from the construction).

Visited Yonder Coffee inside Daily Beer Bar with a friend this weekend. It was the second Saturday…read morein January - so a pretty random weekend, but surprisingly the place was absolutely popping and so packed. There were 5-6 people waiting for a single table. After fighting for a table, we both ordered hot drinks: my friend got a latte and I ordered the rose chai latte, which I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, after my friend placed her order, the barista mentioned they were "out of espresso" and offered to "top it with milk" instead and she wouldn't taste a difference. That was disappointing and felt a bit unfair that my friend essentially ended up paying for milk rather than a true latte. We also tried the Tepuy donuts, which were tasty (love Tepuy sourdough donuts!), though I wish they had been warmed up. Given how busy it was, service felt a bit rushed and less attentive than expected--understandable, but still noticeable. The space itself is nice, with a variety of table sizes, and I can tell it would be a great spot to sit and chat on a slower day. I would look forward to giving it another try on a less hectic day!

The location is a few miles outside of Chapel Hill downtown, and despite getting a lot of light pollution from that... it feels like your just in the middle of nowhere when you stay in the yome on the property. The yome itself is definitely not really built for more than two people (or a third, smaller human or pet) but it was so nice to disconnect from screen entertainment for a night. The staff of the teahouse was welcoming and helpful with recommendations when we came back in to refill the mead jug we got before they close. We tried the Apple Pie mead (it was SO good, just the right amount of sweetness) and When Lemon met Ginger - outside of that I tried the Berry Berry (I think I have that name wrong) and it was BEAUTIFUL. We also tried Balancing the Moon in a large pot (for the third time) and the next morning I tried Sunrise. I had been expecting a black tea for that, but instead was treated to something reminiscent of a zinger from Celestial Seasonings - good childhood memories hit me when i drank it. At least one friend and I plan on coming back - and I would definitely like to try staying in the yome again when it's warmer!
