Wow!! What a beautiful place!! We decided to visit the Mayflower after dinner one night for some drinks. We walked in and it was just stunning. It's a gorgeous inn- so beautifully decorated and luxurious. We walked into the bar area and were able to get a few seats. We ordered some fabulous drinks and actually decided to walk around the inn a bit. We sat in a small room off of the entrance and we were enjoying the fire and our drinks. A server came to assist us a few times which was lovely. We ordered a delicious dessert to share and it was just a perfect evening. Would definitely return to enjoy the restaurant or the bar again- perhaps when the weather permits sitting outdoors. This place is truly gorgeous.

Destination trip for the 40th birthday of yours truly. Visiting in the fall this is the perfect New England experience. The property is absolutely breathtaking and gorgeous. The decor is calm and serene but modern and youthful. Our room did not want us to leave with an incredibly comfortable bed, relaxing patio and fireplace. We spent an afternoon within the spa on property and enjoyed the experience thoroughly with my wife saying "it was the best massage of her life". The one drawback is that the menu at the restaurant was lacking and when you stay for multiple nights it becomes harder to find interesting dishes. They can definitely do better here. That being said it was not enough to taint our experience. Last but not least we loved the staff in all areas of the hotel. Amazing people.

This is absolutely breathtaking. Everywhere you look. As my son said, there's no way we're going to do it justice with our pictures or videos. He was right! The end is beautifully decorated and the restaurant area has been recently updated, Cory church server. We had brunch on Saturday and had a lovely seat overlooking the Shakespeare garden. I had the frittata with ricotta cheese. It was delicious! Perfectly cooked in an ample portion. I also had the half grapefruit with mint and sugar. It probably back to my childhood! My son had The bourbon French toast and I had a bite and it was absolutely so rich and delicious the bananas on top with a perfect complement! We shared a side of turkey bacon which was perfectly cooked. Our server was Meghan he was very friendly and had great suggestions. This is a five star establishment with impeccable customer service.

Hey folks sorry haven't been posting lately. But had to take a minute to tell you about my experience at the Mayflower Inn Washington, CT. So relaxing, dinner was excellent and our couples massage, out of this world. I highly recommend a day trip or if your feeling bling $$$$ stay the night. Just a great close get away.

Beautiful New England Inn!!! While enjoying our day exploring in (Stars Hollow) with our daughter we stopped in for an Excellent lunch on the patio. Service was top notch and our meal was also. They have a wonderful English garden just off the patio. The inn itself is gorgeous and very maintained. Would love to return and spend a weekend!

What a wonderful, elegant and beautiful place. First class service, ambiance and standards all the way. My wife and I visited on a beautiful late August afternoon for a quiet birthday drink and light fare on the terrace. It could not have been nicer. In fact, the entire 2 hours we spent were truly spectacular in every respect. We each had a couple of vodka martinis and shared a couple of entrees, garden salad and chilled tomato soup along with olive bread and Parmesan bagel crisps. A warm chocolate brownie birthday plate, compliments of the house, topped the experience. Thank you Mayflower. Well done!

Wonderful escape very close to home. We feel welcomed and taken care of even though clearly not the most well off guests! The grounds are beautiful. The staff is attentive & very helpful. Decor all around is great... classic and modern at the same time. The accommodations are very well maintained & clean. Impeccable service all around... dining, bar, room, spa... excellent!! My husband had the crispy 1/2 chicken and I the salmon. Both perfectly cooked. The sides and apps were all delish. Salads dressed just right. Cappuccino strong and fluffy! Chocolate cake & ice cream rich and creamy. All of the dishes were amazing... a few more standouts were: chicken caesar salad, breakfast sausage, french toast, tomato soup, bolognese... just totally delicious. The spa was one of the best I've been to. Massages were amazing, the waiting/lounge room was a wonderful sanctuary, steam room delightful, ‍ sauna perfectly hot, yoga class an excellent treat, pool just right. The whole place is amazing. All over very well done!

We walked in on a Fall day during Sunday brunch. We did not have a reservation but were seated immediately. Service was excellent. It's a nice brunch menu- I started off with a Bloody Mary-we shared a fruit plate . My husband had the Farmer's Omelette and I had the egg white frittata. My frittata was a little on the bland side but among the miniature onetime use condiments was a bottle of Tabasco! That helped! If weather permits, a walk outside is a must. The grounds are beautiful!!!! I can see why so many escape the city to come to this quiet New England piece of heaven! We live about an hour away and it's a nice scenic drive.

A very reasonable $35 corkage fee allowed for me to bring in a few gems to suck down with out delicious food!

I love it and will probably order it again next time I go. My husband ordered the Bratwurst, as an appetizer, and the seafood saute, as a main dish. He had also ordered these the last time we were there. He likes them so much, why try anything else? The pre-dinner cocktails we had - Barr Hill tonic for me and Aperol Spritz for my husband - were very refreshing. Every time we go to this restaurant for dinner, we have sat outside overlooking Lake Waramaug. What a view! Our server was very competent. We never felt rushed and we truly enjoyed every minute of our meal. We went on Saturday evening and the restaurant was packed; however, the staff was able to manage it well and they were very welcoming. We are looking forward to our next meal here.

I shared we were there for restaurant week where that menu was also brought over. We were the only people seated in this section of the restaurant. I ordered the seafood special and my husband requested the schnitzel. Note, he said schnitzel! We started with appetizers, I had the crab cake my husband had the melon and prosciutto. Now the entree arrived and then dessert of crepes with ice cream and chocolate sauce. All on the restaurant week menu by the way. Meal was delicious until the bill arrived. I paid without looking ( my bad ) until I realized the total of 131 dollars . When I realized ( after paying ) that there was an error in cost ( three course meal for 40 dollars ) should have been 80 dollars plus three cocktails. My first response was wow, cocktails must be very expensive which they actually were very reasonable, I asked the waiter to come back. He said my husband said weinerschitzel not jaegersniitzel ! Seriously. We were very vocal about the restaurant week and quite obvious with the appetizer and dessert chosen from the menu . Although the food was very good we left with a very bad taste and a much larger bill than expected. So, lesson learned, check that bill before paying during restaurant week ! PS: the waiter was argumentative when approached and was oh ok , I'll take the appetizer off , walked away and started playing on the computer for 5 mins with no communication, we simply stood up and left. Ridiculous

That caught my attention. I'm a great lover of historic buildings. This one has enjoyed several different lives, but the newest iteration opened in 2024. The owners have paid close attention to many details that show they value the history of the building - from the furniture in the multiple small dining rooms to the reproduction wallpaper on the walls. I loved the use of large candles in the fireplaces to replicate the light of a fire. Our meals were from the Prix Fixe Menu for $50 per person. I was delighted to see later that Lost Fox Inn advertises a Prix Fixe Menu on Thursdays for $60 per person. I enjoyed the Corn Chowder soup appetizer, which was different from any chowder I've ever eaten but very flavorful. My main course was Orecchiette, a delightful maitake and shiitake mushroom pasta dish that is flavored with lemon, pecorino Romano, rosemary, oregano and topped with breadcrumbs. Dessert was a chocolate mousse topped with pickled blackberry and mint. Really delicious. We booked an early dinner and were delighted to find that we were the only ones seated in our small dining room. As the hour progressed, more and more people filled the room, and interestingly each group took advantage of the restaurant week menu (many of the items are on the regular dinner menu). The wait staff was very attentive, checking in and answering questions about the menu items. I look forward to a return visit because the food was really outstanding.

The room itself is quite spacious, more than enough for two people, and it has all the amenities you would expect including a large comfortable bed, a TV, water heater, and supplies to make tea. Every morning, we were offered breakfast which was served in a ornately decorated dining room and consisted of a tasty fruit salad as well as freshly baked croissants, scrambled eggs, fresh orange juice, and coffee.
