This is my experience from living on the first floor: Pros: - management kept the surrounding environment (inside and outside) clean for the most part - cute small kiddie pool (sorry to call it that, but it is what it is) - has a small gym facility with 1 Stairmaster, 2 bikes, 3 treadmills and a few weight machines and dumbbells. - super easy walk to Kroger - many restaurants, grocery stores, dogcare/grooming, salons and a gym nearby. Cons: - noise is horrific. I have lived in an apartment complex before, but never have I ever experienced the noise coming from outside and from other tenants, especially the upstairs tenants. "that's just apartment living"... no this is the Maven Living. As pretty as it is, the lack of sound barrier is what killed it for me and was the leading factor as to why I had to pay extra to break my lease. I could hear my neighbors drop a piece of ice that's how easily I can hear things. Now imagine what else I could hear...yea.. I was unlucky to have had my upstairs neighbors. I could easily tell they did not have the normal 8-5 job as they and their dog would like to run/stomp around until 12-12:30 am. Is this their fault that the Maven's sound barrier sucked? No. Could they have at least tried to be mindful that there were people living UNDERNEATH them? Yes. After 6 months of "dealing with it" I had to start complaining about them. Maven said they called to remind them to be mindful of the noise, but honestly, I think it did more damage than good because the noise became worse. I would think being in suwanee there would be classier people, but no. -secondly, LOTS of people like to keep their dog off the leash even though the Maven had sent out multiple emails regarding this matter. My dog was attacked by one of these dogs. A neighbors dog ran up to my dog and wrapped its entire mouth around my dogs' snout and bit it. -price of rent is increasing to $1700 from $1300 from when they first opened for a 759 sq ft place. They're definitely taking advantage of the housing market crisis. - hard to find parking, sometimes even during the work day. you'll have to park all the way in the back to find parking. or illegally park, dont worry the apparently the Maven wont fine you, like they said they would in their mass emails. -sometimes the trash collectors are jerks and dont pick up trash. still dont know what i did wrong to this day. My recommendation is to stay on the top floor if you end up choosing the Maven. The first floor is not worth the easy move in/move out. Or simply STAY AWAY. read more
