I visited this shop after reading the reviews for a hair & beard trim on the 24th Dec 2018, it was certainly a lovely place, I was eventually seated by Dan & I explained my requirements, he started to trimmed my hair first during this trim I was left three times while he attended and helped sell there products to shoppers entering the shop even though there was already a lady there to serve them, this I felt was very un-professional if not rude, I felt more of a hindrance than a customer.
He then put the chair back so I was virtually lying and started the trim on my beard fortunately for the few minutes it took without interruption. He then placed a warm towel over my face and went off chatting with customers again, the towel being cold by the time he returned to which he replaced with another warm towel and disappeared again, once the towel had got that cold that I wanted to remove it myself I lifted my head to see him in the mirror behind me showing products to a customer, he eventually returned removed the towel & started the trimming with the cut throat razor a nervous time for any customer but made ten times worse as he continually stopped and chatted to customers behind me, leaving me staring at the blade waving about in front of my face while he chatted, I was relieved when this experience was over and I could get out of the chair of which I had been in that long with all his disappearing acts I was desperate for the toilet, he took me to the counter and asked for £27-50 to which I gave him £30-00 certainly not that I was happy with the service but as is my curtsy, I asked to use the bathroom and he took me up stairs at which time I put my glasses on in the hope of admiring the cut I was unfortunately disappointed as being 59 I have skin that hangs down under my chin this being un-shaved made it look like a goate under my beard, I was very courteous in explaining my concern and was surprised to be told by Dan that it was correct when I was lying down as if this resolved the issue, he did agree to re-trim under my chin but certainly in a huff, and continually stating that it would be wrong if he did, he trimmed under my chin complaining about having to crouch down in front of me to do it, after which still in his huff he said I suppose you,d like me to shave it as well, I could not believe the pompousness & arrogance of this man,
When he had finished although not as bad I could still see hair on this skin under my chin but said nothing for fear of him throwing a worse hissy fit, having my fill of his obnoxious attitude I just wanted to leave
never to return.
I have had many hair & beard trims finished off with a razor always pleasant and courteous and four times less than I paid these people
If you wish to pay OTT prices to ignorant pompous & arrogant staff this is the place for you, but don't make the mistake I did in believing the reviews there not all nice people. James Milner. read more
