I have had the pleasure of staying here twice recently, in the Spa Hotel. And what a hotel it is! I…read morewas away with work, and on my first visit, somehow I was upgraded to a double suite. Two rooms, and a seperate sitting room! The suite was stunning - luxurious but not disgustingly so - simply modern and comfortable. Beautiful decor, and really clean - just like new. There was a fridge, which was handy, and the heating/air conditioning was fully controllable via wall panels. The bathroom was epic - large bath and a seperate double shower unit with different shower settings - the rain one and all that. Plus you can get the sound from the tv into the bathroom, which I really like while I'm having a soak. There were also Molton Brown toilletries - very posh. My room was overlooking the front drive, which includes a duck pond with a variety of ducks, and a fountain. It was exceptionally lovely. The next time, I was put into a standard room. I wasn't expecting this to be anywhere as nice as the suite. But it was! Just the same really but with fewer rooms. It had all the same features and was a pleasure to stay in - warm and cosy, I was very comfortable. The employees are also lovely - I had the same receptionist both times and she advised me of nice routes to go running, and was keen to make sure that my dietary requirements were catered for. This unfortunately is where the hotel let itself down. I will give it the benefit of the doubt - the chef in the Spa Hotel was off ill, so they were directing customers to one of the other restaurants on site, but I wanted room service as I'd been a run. I'm vegan and wheat free, and the person I spoke to in the other restaurant really did not have a clue. I thought it was easiest to just get a salad and some steamed veg, and specified that I was vegan, and to make sure that there was no butter put on the veg. What did they come with? That's right, butter! I sent them back and the lovely porter man, even though I said not to bother, was so concerned that I had some veg for dinner, that he sent up some fresh ones, even though I'd said it was really fine. He said he was vegetarian and knew what it was like not to get what you'd asked for. He was just as lovely as the receptionist. I think if you are a standard eater though, you would like it here, the menu did look lovely. Breakfast was excellent too - I had some little fruit smoothie shooters, lots of fresh fruit, and some porridge made with water, which suited me fine. I would happily come here on holiday - the hotel is lovely, the employees really focussed on customer service, and the surroundings are beautifully picturesque.

Great hotel, lovely location and very reasonable…read more Its close to Wrea Green, Lytham and Preston, just off the M55. Rooms are modern, spacious, well fitted and include ensuites with glass showers, heated floors and soaking tubs. The spa and facilities are superb, the price very reasonable and I loved my stay. Its a place I will go back to every time I get the chance. Well done.

Llandudno Bay Hotel & Spa

The Llandudno Bay Hotel is located in an older, classical building that has been heavily renovated,…read moreright on the bay, dubbed "Queen of the Welsh Resorts." The renovation is still going on. We stayed here for 2 nights. Our room was modern in all respects. It was a small room, but my husband and I aren't big people, so the space was good enough for us. The shower was all new, clear glass, quarter-round design. I liked the design and it would be great in a cruise ship cabin. I wouldn't be able to take a shower & wash my hair, since I wash my very long hair looking down and when I flip my hair to the back to rinse the top of my hair, my hair will be rubbing all over the glass, water will splatter all over the floor, what a mess that would make! For a large person, however, there would barely be room to move. Soft water, that's a plus, specially if you've got thick hair down to your buttocks! Internet access was easy and the speed was very good. We were traveling as part of a tour group and had breakfast and dinner there for two days. Breakfast was a buffet with both hot and cold foods available. It was adequate for a hotel of this size. Coffee was brought promptly and it was good. On our 2nd breakfast, the staff were late bringing out hot foods, the guests didn't have bowls for their cereals, no dishes for hot foods. I was also told, they charge extra for hot cocoa. When I told them, I don't drink coffee nor tea, but hot cocoa, the head waitress told me, she'd give me a cup, but refills I would have to be charged! For the 6 times, we've traveled with this company, NOT ONCE, have I've been charged for hot cocoa! Because I only have 1 cup to put inside my travel mug, it was also watered down, when yesterday, I was telling our Tour Director: "The cocoa in Wales was much better tasting than Scotland." Today, it was diluted, & yucky! Update: We were told that they opened breakfast (for us), that's why they were late getting everything ready! That's what tourism is all about, and they are in business to accommodate their guests at all times! Dinners were also tasty. The serving staff was small and our group was large, so there was little "how are you doing?" after each course was brought. We found it easier to order our drinks from the bar and bring them to our table, rather than overburden the wait staff. DH couldn't pay his bar tab at 6:45 AM because the night staff didn't know how and the day front desk person didn't start till 7am. Is a small, friendly hotel with a limited staff. When we got back to our room, after having dinner on our first night, the toilet was still running. I called reception to ask them, is there a secret in quieting down or stopping the toilet from continuing flushing, but they didn't answer the phone. I tried fixing it, by holding the flusher and re-flush, and that seems to do the work. Other times, it doesn't flush! Heated towel holders, a plus, but there are no hooks for other towels. No wash cloths, so I called the reception desk and they sent me 2 long hand towels, we already have those! I used a hand towel in my shower to exfoliate, instead of a wash cloth! Imagine using THAT, heavy towel (when wet), all over your skin to exfoliate.
