This is one of the De Vere Hotels, that is situated just outside of Blackpool. It is set in its own 230 acres of parkland & lakes.
It is a very peaceful & tranquil setting, that is a far cry from the main area of Blackpool, with its tacky shops & 'kiss me quick' hats & rock! ...in fact, you wouldnt even know that you were in Blackpool, if you were taken there, blind-folded!
It also, boasts a well-maintained golf course & there is a Spa & Fitness Centre, which guests are free to use at their own leisure.
The bedroooms are very comfortable & cosy, & a big refurbishing project has been undertaken.
The breakfast - offers a variety of options for the guest, - so, most people should be accomodated.
My only 'gribe' when I stayed, was that there was a Wedding Reception being held there on the Saturday night. And the noise generated from this continued into the early hours.
However, the next day when I complained about this, I was treated with empathy & understanding - & allowed to stay in my room for the remainder of the day/as long as I wanted, (check-out: 11am) & also, had free access to the Spa & Fitness Centre, which I thought was a reasonable compensation, for the disturbance caused to me.
Staff generally friendly & helpful. read more
