This visit is for an annual even from the charitable group Kiwanis on Long Island. Specifically, the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center The rooms are very spacious and bright.... The reason I mention this is that bright = cheerful. Great decor here except for the mirrored wall which are always a challenge. The staff is extremely courteous and as a photographer they DO NOT make me feel like and unwanted guest. They are always asking me if I need anything to eat or drink, realizing that I am always busy. I enjoy their food tremendously. It's tough to feed 350+ hundred of people with both good food and expediency. Their trained staff is obviously very good at what they do. As photographer we have been taught that when the food comes out... you take your seat as you do not want to get in the way of the team serving food. The downstairs room has a very big bar with plenty of help. Another item to make the experience a great one. Within the "photographer's corner," I have never heard anyone not speak well of Leonard's. It is always one of my preferred places to work.

The whole place starts chiming and the vibe was set for the night. There were three microphones and since we were sitting closing to the stage and KTV setup, we just kept passing them around to everyone in the restaurant. It was like we were one big group by the end of the night. The managers and their staff were even joining in the fun too! It's nights like this that you remember for a long time. Jokes aside (half joking), this is an awesome local Inn with a ton of history. It's family-owned and in business since the 70's.. how cool is that?! Their Marco Polo bar is quite nifty too. It gives major speakeasy vibes and offers a great happy hour Tues to Thurs. The bartender was telling me about their BFF Night Package and staycation packages too. I think you get a deal on the hotel room plus welcome drinks and some apps. I'm not an expert on the deets so be sure to ask about them if curious. All in a all, a really convenient and interesting place right in the heart of Great Neck, one block away from all the hustle, so the street parking is actually quite available normally. There is also a restaurant that serves complimentary breakfast. The hotel has five floors and our room was very spacious. It had two full size beds, a leather sitting chair, a desk, and a little kitchenette. The bathroom also had a large counter for holding all of our toiletries. The shower had good water pressure and hot water. Overall, a good experience.

We had our daughter's wedding ceremony for 75 people in our backyard on a Friday night, and her celebration party in Williamsburg (at the W Loft with 125 people) on Saturday night. We rented everything from tables to silverware, trees to LED lights, for both nights. The details seemed infinite and were something I really would not have handled well during my daughter's wedding/celebration parties. Tara was on top of everything and I never turned into Momzilla!
