We've grown our family and moved from a one bedroom to a two bedroom in our time at Timberwood Commons. I was pregnant at the time so they even offered to help us move which saved us so much time and money. They've gone above and beyond to make our experience here the best that there is with apartment living. When heating rates doubled, I talked to them about how our Nest Thermostat (smart thermostat that can be controlled with your phone) had been saving us money- what did they do? They installed one for everyone in the complex. Amazing. My advice to anyone living here or moving in is that you go to them with any issue or request because they've been exceedingly flexible and helpful to us at every turn. The apartment itself is beautiful, new looking (even the one we moved into that had been lived in before us). We had a baby and kids living above us and rarely heard the softest of a baby cry if you were listening carefully and, having our own infant, my mom ears probably only heard it because of that. We sleep trained our baby when he was older and our next door neighbor said he never heard a thing (as we were sure to make sure this didn't disturb him). When I was pregnant and couldn't walk up stairs because of complications they modified our ground level apartment so we could walk out of the porch (by installing a door) so I could get to my car without stairs right to my car- 10 feet away. Made it possible for me to leave the house on my own which was a lifesaver (and a job saver). The property management has always been incredibly friendly and helpful with every question, request and transition in our life. As my husband graduates his fellowship soon, we will be moving soon but will be sad to leave as finding another apartment with this kind of service is likely impossible. I'd also add we share the electrical line with the hospital and even through storms where most of town has lost power, we never have- not even during the hurricane. So that's a huge plus too!

Here's the story: About six months ago, they started a construction project at the community. There was very limited information sent out about what would be going on and what to expect in your apartment. On the very first day, we were the first unit they started on, And we were all woke into a saw blade coming through our wall (Super glad that we weren't sleeping Against that wall!) The First email regarding the construction said to "take things off the wall because they might fall". Nowhere did it say to cover all your items because they would get absolutely coated in sheet rock dust or that your room would have chunks of sheet rock strewn about. When I brought this to the attention of one of the construction managers, he pretty much said "your apartment complex should've told you to expect this", which they obviously told us the bare minimum. We to this day are still gif ing sheet rock dust in nooks and cranny's. And little did we know that was just the tip of the iceberg. Over the course of this project, he was very obvious. The workers were just gonna throw any debris or trash that was straight on the ground and not put in any effort to pick it up. This caused nails and sharp objects to be laying around all the walkways making it very unsafe for pets to walk and even humans or the duration of this project. I ended up having four nails and or screws in my car tires, all of which matched the nails and screws you could find all over the ground so there was no question that was a result of their lack of cleanup. For about four months, I played email, and phone tag and communicated in person Looking for something to be done about the lack of care for the cleanup. Stone farm just passed it all off on the construction company and didn't want to take any responsibility and didn't want to put any effort into making them clean it up better I have probably 20 emails and I've called over 30 times in the lack of response is infuriating. No one will take responsibility and they just say it's a big project and it's hard to clean everything up. This doesn't even include the fact that they had to replace windows and doors and reseal them when it was 20° or less outside through the winter. I remember sitting at my dining room table with a coat hat and gloves on while eating lunch one day because there was snow literally blowing into my kitchen. We had multiple instances where workers left windows open during the winter at the end of the day so we would come home after work and there were windows open. Also had multiple instances where our front door was unlocked when we get home from work all of these instances were land reported to Stone farm for them to not do anything about it because they obviously happened again. I could find at least three different times an email chain is just gone dead and I've followed up multiple times with them and they failed to respond. I call no one picks up. I go to the office and no one's ever there during the post office hours the head property manager is never actually on site. It's always the assistant who doesn't seem to be able to do anything. Regarding apartment entry, There would always be emails saying that the workers were coming to your Apartment on "x" day. They would never show up on the day they were supposed to and they would show up on other days where they weren't supposed to. We would also only be notified about any initial work. There are multiple times we had that guys come knock on my door and say hey, we just have to look at something which was completely unscheduled and I know they would've done if we weren't home. I truly chased these people for six months for not a single person to take any responsibility (or hardly reply!) for the nightmare, living conditions or the damage to my car tires.

The property manager gives him a half-hearted wave hello, turns to us & goes "this is (insert his name), he is the custodian. He's deaf so he cant hear anything we're saying." It made me feel very uncomfortable. We're adults looking to rent an apartment, we have a full understanding of what "deaf" & "hearing impaired" means. It was disrespectful towards the custodian. He is a person that deserves the same basic respect. It's 2021, its time to learn some ASL & treat your coworker like a human being instead of some walking statue that cleans the buildings.

The Secretary will harass you. There is a late fee on everything. There was a restaurant across from my building and there was always people parking in my assigned parking. There is a small laundry room and I have had tenants take my cloths out of a washer and a dryer in the middle of the cycle to start their own laundry. In the winter they have several buildings and one plow truck for snow removal. So there is a good chance you will be stuck until mid afternoon before they plow. Renting here was a nightmare. The landlords have absolutely no compassion or empathy for people. It's all about money with them. I had a neighbor who was really noisy. I called the police on him 8 times. My landlord called the police on his m 2 times and I called my landlord about him over 45 times within 1 years. The landlord did nothing about it .

The first time I had the pleasure of the person who was going to show me this place fight with her BF on the phone... The second time they couldn't find the key so I had driven an hour and a half to see NOTHING. If you work at DHMC, call HR and they will get you free access to a housing website, they are awesome. Otherwise, Craig's List is good.
