Kitchen waterfall peninsula

We were referred to Ismael "The Marble Master" back in February of 2018 by "All Natural Stone." Of the two names we were given, Ismael was the most prompt to respond. We soon discovered he is truly knowledgeable and professional. We were renovating our master bathroom in San Jose and Ismael fabricated and installed our quartzite countertop and two sinks. We were extremely impressed with his work. So, when we began renovating our 2nd home in Copperopolis, we requested a bid from Ismael and two other companies closer to Copperopolis. Ismael bid was right in the middle about $750 more than the lowest bid. Considering he would be traveling close to 2 1/2 hours, we felt his bid was reasonable. We also had a tremendous amount of confidence in his work. I texted Ismael at 4:30 p.m. on May 7th asking for a bid. He responded at 6:50 the next morning saying he'd get back to me with a quote. I followed up on May 18th and by Thursday, May 21st I had the quote. On the previous job he did for us, we didn't have any written contract. We were working with a cabinet contractor for our current renovation with only text and email messages. I was regretting not having a more formal written contract with the cabinet maker, so I didn't want to proceed again without a more formal agreement. I prepared a one-page letter detailing the scope and agreement of work which included kitchen, laundry room and hallway cabinets. With Ismael, after having him complete two jobs for us, I'm confident you really don't need a contract. He's a man of his word. He did exactly what he promised, just like the first time we worked with him. He also left two large leftover pieces that we will be using for our guest and master bathroom countertops. And, two smaller pieces that we can carry with us when shopping for our backsplash and bathroom floor tile. On Friday morning, May 22nd, we spoke on the phone and I awarded him the job. He agreed to meet us on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th to make the templates. A vacation day!!!!! That's commitment! He also said that once we come by his shop to show him how we want each countertop to be laid out on the granite that he would be ready to install in 10 days. On Friday, May 29th, Ismael spent at least an hour with us to laid out each countertop. He was very patient. Ismael continued to be responsive to text messages throughout. He is a busy man. He may not get back to you immediately, but at the times I really needed to talk to him, he called me back quickly. I have absolutely no complaints about his responsiveness. On the contrary, it's amazing how he juggles all his clients. I'm acting as my own general contractor on my renovation job. I have minimal experience and needed some hand holding along the way. Ismael was willing and qualified to provide the advice and direction I needed. As promised, he contacted us almost exactly 10 days later to set-up the installation date. Although, something came up and he had to push it out one day to Thursday, June 11th (12 days, instead of 10 which didn't bother us at all). Our cabinet contractor is currently 3 months passed his promised completion date and we are still waiting for him to finish. So, two days is absolutely nothing! My wife and I highly recommend Ismael "The Marble Master" with confidence. We will never do a natural stone countertop job without his expertise! The "Marble Master" is our go to man!

The Tile and Grout King - Tub and vanity, wainscoting and a bit of the floor detail

The Tile and Grout King

The Tile and Grout King only offers the Schluter-Kerdi shower system (no hot mop/mortar bed). We chose this system because it provides waterproof sheeting (unlike our previous build) and doesn't require weep holes in the drain (which clogged in our previous shower, allowing water to wick beneath the tiles and leave puddles on the floor). The system's reliability depends heavily on the installer's technique, and Tile & Grout King is certified and has used this system for six years. Jordan, our PM for the job, was great. He gave us estimates and timelines, scheduled work within a few days, and completed the rebuild in 2 1/2 weeks. Jordan oversaw the delivery of supplies and removal of old debris (including the previous glass walls, which didn't fit because the profile of the mosaic accent trim we chose wasn't level). He met with the crews and us multiple times during the build to ensure we were all aligned on what was required. We had two crews working on the job. The demolition crew, Jose and Juan, finished the demo work in two days. They were extremely careful with their work, protecting the floors, sinks, and tub, and not damaging tiles on the tub deck wall so that they could be reused. They showed us where the previous install had failed (where the mortar bed was too close to the top of the drop and where the moisture vapor retarder was waterlogged). The second crew, Noe and Carlos, also did a great job. On a couple of days, they worked overtime to keep the job on schedule and to allow a full 48-hour water pan test over the weekend. They made suggestions on tile placement, such as extending the tile to the ceiling, and broadening the access trim to avoid using thin cuts of the 24" tiles. I was impressed by the professionalism of everyone who worked on this project. Everyone was very friendly and easy to talk to. We plan to call them back to work on our other shower in a couple of weeks.

We live in a new house and wanted a company that could deliver high-quality work matching our home's upscale finishes. The staff was friendly, and we enjoyed working with them. However, we were very disappointed with the outcome. We asked for a very thin line along the joints, but the finished product resulted in thick, uneven grout lines that stood out. For the other bathroom's shower pan, it was recommended to use grout rather than caulk. The grout applied was very uneven and looked as if a black crayon had been used. After spending several hundred dollars, we hired another company to complete the work. We requested another specialist from Grout Kings to handle our project, but they were inflexible and insisted that they could do it correctly. What was initially estimated to cost a few hundred dollars ended up costing a couple of thousand. I cannot recommend Grout Kings, as their work did not meet the quality promised online.

The receptionists were incredibly friendly and accommodating, even when we arrived just 10 minutes before closing because we got off work late. Despite our profuse apologies for coming so close to closing time, they warmly welcomed us, offered us coffee, and took the time to help us. We returned the following day, and Thy helped us find the perfect flooring. She was patient, knowledgeable, and thorough throughout the entire process. Her communication was outstanding, and she made what could have been an overwhelming decision feel easy and stress-free. We also had our flooring delivered to our home, and Quan, our delivery driver, was just as wonderful. As first-time homeowners, we especially appreciated that he took the time to explain different parts of the process to us. Since he is also a contractor, he was able to share valuable insights and tips that helped us better understand what to expect during installation and beyond. We appreciated his friendliness, knowledge, and willingness to educate us! From start to finish, everyone went above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service. We truly had a fantastic experience and look forward to returning as we continue making upgrades to our home. :)

This is a big store and you can check out their products online as well…read more Our contractor recommended this place as he has an account there with deep discount that can be passed onto the customers. They have a variety of tile selections and most of them were imported from Italy or Spain which with better quality there's less yield loss, hence you can buy less. Some of the special priced items have longer lead times, so make sure you double check with them. We didn't enjoy the process as much as with other shops because of 3 reasons. First of all, our sales contact was quite unavailable on the weekends or even Friday afternoons, so we had a hard time scheduling with her. But if you just walk in and ask for help from the front desk, they will assign someone to help. The second issue we found was the inconsistency of product introductions. We were worried about slippery tiles in the shower, our sales contact suggested us to focus on the tiles that have a special coating. The second sales person we talked to said the special coating was only for outdoor use, using the gauge lines between tiles is good enough to prevent slipping. Thirdly, after we got the quote, we couldn't place the order into the system with our contractor's discount; only that appointed sales person could do. Luckily we could get the rest of the process done via email and she sent out a link for me to make payment. If you have a Rakuten cash back app and pay online, I think you get the cash back as well.
