A welcome addition to the Schenectady small business retail scene, it's very on-brand, and I'm here for it. I was able to get quite a few Schenectady-centric Christmas gifts here, and since I always try to support local makers and businesses first, this shop made it super easy - lots of one-stop-shopping potential. My haul included: - two ornaments for the Christmas trees of my Schenectady born-and-raised sisters who no longer live in the 518 - a cute little crocheted elf for my 5-month old niece made my a local granny - a rather stunning wooden bowl, handmade by a local engineer/former colleague of the owner who parkates in woodworking as a hobby - Electric City themed gifts for my boss, who's a Schenectady guy at heart, including a wooden/metal hybrid bottle opener with "ELECTRIC CITY" boldy branded on the front, a pint glass with a cool 70s-esque, retro font ("ELECTRIC CITY"), matching sticker (for the laptop!), and a coaster, but not just any old boring coaster. This one had an illustrated scene printed on glossy enamel depicting a Schenectady police officer playing basketball with a child. Not only did this fit my theme, but the I knew the coaster I chose (there were several different ones) would be significant because his father is a retired Schenectady cop. I guess the pictures on the coasters were part of a public art project, where Schenectady-themed scenes were drawn and then selected to appear on merchandise for the Greenmarket and other items, like these coasters sold here. This is a rough Cliffs Notes version of the project, but it was cool learning about it, knowing it was part of something bigger and community focused. It's the little touches like that which make gift giving feel so special, and I know I wouldn't have found any of those beautiful, thoughtful, local gifts without a shop like Schenectady Trading Co. It would have been even better if there was a small card with a write up about the art project, so I could have gifted the coaster with a bit more "purpose." I like it when I can include a write up about the artist or project or whatever interesting element might need further explaining to make the gift even more interesting. Aside from my local finds, there's plenty of other merchandise, and items that stuck out were a selection of Tough Traveler bags (hometown favorite!), "Electric City" and "Schenectady, Light Up the World!" apparel, a cool assortment of Schenectady inspired vinyl stickers, chocolates from Schenectady-based chocolate shop, Uncle Sam's, and quite a few other odds and ends. I'm thankful that shops like this exist, backed by business owners who have an appreciation for the city and realize there's a need for some Electric City gift giving magic. Wishing them lots of luck, and excited to see what type of programming the owner has in mind down the road (she hinted on wanting this to be more than a retail shop, with poetry nights and books clubs and other outlets for mental stimulation - bring it on!)

I had my breasts done here last year. I had heard the rumors about these two having botched…read morecosmetic surgery patients. I even met one of them. I didn't listen. Now I am botched, too. In surgery, they did things that I did not consent to, like liposuction. I also did not know that Dr. Schingo, who I had never met, would be doing one breast, and Dr. Fox the other. Let's just say that they clearly have different visions of what looks good, because they do not look remotely similar. Now I have one breast that is too large, with a large areola, and an always-hard nipple that is pointing way off to the side. The other breast is two sizes smaller and has a tiny, flat nipple that points down. Then, underneath the breast that the one doctor did, the stitches completely unzipped, leaving a gaping, excruciating cavity in my breast. I was told by the opposite doctor that I had to go back into surgery to fix it, and I received no pain relief after. (Dr. Fox does not practice evidence-based pain management, which indicates that people heal more quickly from surgery when their pain is properly addressed.) Instead, she lied to me and made fun of me. I sought surgery because I wanted to look and feel better, but I'm so embarrassed about my breasts now. The experience was so traumatic that I had to get treatment for PTSD. I asked for a revision several times and they were not interested. They also never took "after" photos to go with the "before" photos, so they know they messed up. Stay away from these people, or you may end up with frankenboobs or a frankenface as well! (No complaints at all about the staff, who were always kind.)

Doctor Schingo is AMAZING!…read more If you're looking for a place to go for fillers/botox THIS is the place to go. Trust me. I had a horror story experience with fillers with another local plastic surgeon (who had great reviews but turns out he was awful and had no idea what he was doing, be careful..) and Doctor Schingo so kindly took me in and completely fixed everything. Ever since I have been going to him for lip fillers and he is a genius, a true artist when it comes to fillers (and the lips!)!! He really knows what he's doing and makes everything look so natural, and listens and understands what you want. I never even feel a thing. He knows exactly what to do. If you're looking for lip injections, fillers of any kind, non-surgical nose job, Botox, etc I cannot recommend him enough! I haven't been to him for anything more than non-surgical procedures but from what I've heard he is an excellent plastic surgeon as well, and is an expert when it comes to noses! The staff is so friendly as well. I look forward to coming every time I go in. I would go every day if I could, that's how much I love going and seeing him, but I don't have enough body parts to fill with filler. Oh well!

I had never ventured down this road before as I have seen plenty of bad Duck lips and didn't want to own a pair myself. Doctor B told me about a new product VOLBELLA. The first and only FDA approved filler that adds subtle volume and softens the appearance of those ugly lip lines that Mother Nature likes to hand out after the age of 45.. Since I'm 47 This got my attention! Along with the fact that it last for up to a year and No Duck lips.. So I went for it, the injection was virtually painless and there was really no down time. The result were better than I could have imagined. My aging lips and those nasty line are just gone. The product left a very natural appearance and I can't even tell that it is in there! Can you say Magic? Next on my list was those dreaded 11s on my forehead and marionette lines .. once again Dr B ,being at the top of his game offered the best solution yet.. As soon as I hung up the phone, I received an email confirming the appointment with a click to sync it to my calendar. I received 2 more text messages reminding me of the appointment, the week before and a few days before. I felt like they knew we already. I arrive ontime and Nicole was finishing up a hair consultation. My wait was less than 5 minutes. During my wait, I took in the atmosphere. Clean, Comfortable and with neo-soul playing. It felt like there should be a speak easy in the back room. I was not prepared. I didn't know what hair style I wanted. I explained my habits and desires. Nicole brainstormed with me until we found something that felt right. It was a true hair consultation. Now that she understood my goals, I told her to do whatever she thought was best. I had no idea what color or cut I was going to come out with. But, as I requested she gave me something, professional, colorful and low - maintence. The color was much more than I have ever achieved with SoftSheen-Carson. This was professional! My split ends was gone, dry hair-is now moist, layers and precision describes my blunt cut. But most of all the up keep is easy. I will be going back. This was worth every penny.
