We only had 45 minutes to shop which was not enough time to check out everything, but with the guidance of the friendly, knowledgeable owner, we spent our time well. We selected fidgets for her, presents for her cousins as well as several games to bring on our annual family vacation in Narragansett, RI. It was great to be able to ask the store owner about items and get informed responses. It was much better than shopping online and searching for questionable product reviews. When I first walked, in, I thought it was mostly for kids, but as I strolled around, I was amazed in a good way at the inventory here, including an assortment of smaller games (card, dice, social, party, etc), "grumpy old people" themed socks, a variety of interesting books, and more. There's a lot of things here which I don't necessarily need but are still calling out for some of my discretionary income. The customer service was exactly what you'd expect from a small shop like this; the cashiers were happy to let me browse in quiet, and engaged in pleasant conversation about the artists and items I'd chosen during my visit. So much caught my eye while I was browsing - jewelry, stationary, wall hangings, table top art, and so much more. I thought things were very reasonably priced for a handmade vendor market and spent less than $20 on two small gifts for friends. My intent was to visit, find the perfect gift to personalize, and then pass the word to others about the store in support of it. I find that is important to support non-commercial stores and am trying my best. I visited, found a wonderful gift, and had it personalized. HOWEVER, the staff (2 upon my visit and 2 upon picking up the gift the following week- may have been the same people each time), were unfriendly and unpleasant, even for the short time of our interaction. If a small business is to thrive and for word-of-mouth to assist in their journey, they need to remember who they are and what they are competing against (big business booming with baby items). I will never again visit this store which had so much potential.
