Fine, this fee was additional for her time I get it, but I wrote back saying I wanted to speak to my husband regarding the price increase and then just generally asked if we could do 30/45 minutes earlier instead of an hour and a half as she suggested/ so it wasn't so early and she was quick to say we wouldn't be a good match. I never questioned her pricing or work, I was just inquiring about a later start time to sleep in a bit more when a full day of events is ahead. I was quite upset with how she handled the conversation and was so quick to turn away working together due to making an assumption that I didn't want to pay or that I wanted a discount? I never asked nor mentioned anything about a discount or lowering her price. It is a shame because I wanted to work together and had no issues with the pricing for the services provided- I just wanted to clear with my husband (especially since he's the one paying for and driving me to the event hence why timing is important). Wouldn't recommend her because of the way this scenario went. I am planning on using another hair/makeup artist that will not act this way. 2 stars because she is responsive via email. So I'll be fair and give credit when it comes to her communication.

She applied a liquid highlighter and it streaked down my cheek, but she never corrected it (among other mess ups she did not correct). 5. She used heavy and cheap false eye lashes. 6. She was unresponsive during the trial when I told her I was not happy with how the makeup turned out. 7. The updo she gave me fell out approximately 1 hour later. I didn't even go outside with it. 8. She cashed both the trial and deposit checks (a total of $408) despite my expressed unhappiness with her work.

I think it's important to say that people seem to forget these days that life is not perfect and neither are people and you should think before jumping on Yelp and throwing someone under the bus. I will say that budget is a touchy subject. Be prepared to have a number in mind and then promptly throw it out the window. If you have zero wiggle room then make that abundantly clear to start. Cristina is a fabulous wedding planner. She saw our vision and delivered. We originally were looking at castles and every place Cristina showed us was beautiful, and also had pros and cons. Ultimately I decided I would give up the castle as I had a great emotional connection to a beautiful luxury resort. Cristina's fee for her services is what I expected to pay and I feel that it is very reasonable for what you walk away with- gorgeous memories for life!!! Having an Italian speaking "native" for my wedding was invaluable as well, there's just another level of understanding between planner and locals that you can't get with someone else. Cristina has the perfect personality for this job, she's kind and smart but also coming from the NYC business world she's tough as nails. She's not going to put up with BS, if something is not done correctly she'll make sure it is. She helped me every step of the way and gave input where I asked for it- including my dress! On the day of the wedding it was like magic, you never even saw things happening and then voila the entire aisle was full of flowers and ready for me to walk down it.
