Not bad. I hate to micromanage but sometimes I had to. Small touch ups were nice and they have their own equipment. Good for interior cleaning but not for windows. I think the idea of having 4 people is amazing, especially if they're all dedicated. Some of maids were trying to cut the corners and leave some dust behind. For given price, I expect exceptional service. They're not bad but there is room for improvement. read more

I am a very skeptical, pessimist and rather picky person. I have heard and seen it all, the claims and such versus the actions behind them. So lemme tell ya about THE MAIDS. One word... OMG! They are terrific. I stumbled across them (thanks again Yelp!) last month, scheduled the first cleaning. A group of four ladies showed up and got to work. There was a lot to do too. They were total pros, even cleaned some things I kinda shied away from. Days later after the cleaning I was still finding little areas and details they took care of. I was impressed with their professionalism, their organization, the workers themselves and the overall experience and most importantly THE JOB! the did. Actions speak louder than words... and believe me, they spoke volumes! Today was their second visit and again they were total pros. Awesome work once again! I found The Maids on Yelp and saw that they are a Better Business Bureau member, which is important to me. I've never used a professional cleaning service before, usually I would hire someone who cleaned homes on the side of doing something else. I am very satisfied with the results. The house is much brighter-because the newly cleaned windows are letting all the natural light in. I just moved into a rental home in Durham and haven't really felt like the place was "mine" because the the dust belonged to the old tenants. (Kind of crazy, I know.) Now I feel like the place (and dust) is mine. The prices were reasonable from what I've seen in the past. The women who were here worked dilligently and did an awesome job. read more

Just had the Maids clean our house. It's always a little awkward when they first get there. At least for me there was a bit of a language gap and this sense of - okay, we know what to do with a house, your house isn't a special house, we're just going to get going. But honestly they did a super thorough job and I'm quite satisfied with the service. Will be using them again. read more

What a terrible experience. The Maids cleaned beautifully on their first few cleans at $200 per. Upon their third clean, they would skip rooms fully. After I called to have them clean, they would never apologize, asked me to show them exactly where they needed to reclean. I really want a cleaning service that has pride in their work and that I don't have to follow behind. I don't have time for it and likely people who are getting their houses cleaned on a regular basis don't either. When I asked them to change the date of a scheduled clean, they told me that they would have to start charging me $275 based on the amount of time they have to spend coming out to my home. Customer service is really lacking and the quality of the work is shoddy. read more

The Maids have been cleaning our house for 5 months now (they come once a month) and we couldn't be happier. It took some time to let down my guard and allow complete strangers in my house, but I am glad we chose The Maids. A team of four ladies show up, say hello, and get immediately to work...They do a fantastic job (we have two boys, a cat and a dog) there is no way we could keep the house as clean as we do without the assistance of The Maids. I have been a customer of the maids for almost 10 years. I usually have a monthly cleaning. This time due to circumstances it was not possible on my part to have a cleaning for 3 months! I have a three floor townhouse and it was a disaster of dust and dirt. However, after a 2 hour cleaning the transformation was amazing! These ladies know how to clean and do it thoroughly. We have been using The Maids for ten years or more. They have a very good track record with us. Nine times out of ten they do a great job. Occasionally something gets overlooked or isn't up to standard. When we have had an issue, a phone call has gotten it resolved. Imagine my shock to receive a bill from The Maids for $473. for a "first time" clean of a 2700 square ft. newly renovated home (3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, no carpet, new appliances, new paint). The estimate was $250-350. for first time clean and $150-200. thereafter. Not sure why a house takes more time to clean a first time than subsequent visits...that's another matter. FOUR cleaners were here for 3 1/2 hours! The women were personable and the house is clean, but I do feel taken advantage of. I called to complain today and was told that the women had a problem with a drip of wax that had dripped from a bathroom sill and they had problems with "dusting". Really??? Unless money is not an issue for you, I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

The cost of hiring The Maids for a 3.5 hour pre-house-showing visit was higher than other local service providers, which is the only reason we are giving them a 4 instead of a 5 rating. We were, however, VERY impressed with the level of cleanliness, attention to detail, and professionalism. The Maids have been cleaning my home for more than 10 years so I really can address their consistency. It's as nearly perfect as it's possible to be. The job is done right, the workers are pleasant, the price is reasonable, and we couldn't be more satisfied. This is the first time I've used a cleaning service (before I hired individual housekeepers), and I didn't intend to keep this service long -- just long enough to find a new housekeeper. But The Maids have been so good, I've never been obliged to change. I want to say first that the women who cleaned our home did a beautiful job. My poor experience was with the sales team and management. When first doing an estimate of our home, we were told the first clean would be "a little more expensive" -- we were certainly not prepared for it to be *more than twice* what a biweekly clean cost. It cost more to clean my 1600 sq ft townhouse than it does to clean my parents' 6000 sq ft home! When I called to get clarification on this from management we were told "the first clean is billed hourly" and the reason we were blindsided is because the woman who did our walk-through fell ill and so never sent us a confirmation email. However, she never asked for an email address, and this was WEEKS later. I was informed we would get our confirmation email "right away". Well, it's been two more weeks and still nothing. It's hard not to feel like they took advantage of our situation (I have a newborn, and so am obviously distracted), and were willfully withholding in giving us accurate information about the cost of cleaning. read more

Unfortunately the response from the Maids is not completely accurate. It took the owners 2.5 weeks to address the issue after I called to report it. The police did not do a full investigation, as we did not press charges. The report from the detective only included my initial phone call to the police. This was the first time I have ever been stolen from, so I did not push the police to investigate. In fact, Wes, the owner even said to us that he never heard back from the detective. The incident was in March, and yes because they were seemingly doing the right things, we continued to have our house cleaned, however, the person who stole from us was no longer coming into our home. We were told that she was fired, but she is still employed by this company so beware. Lock up your valuables, these people are not honorable. I gave them ample time, 6 months, to do the right thing, they have not done it. People deserve to know the truth! read more

We recently moved to NC & the new house we bought was disgustingly filthy! I didn't want to clean it, so I decided to hire someone to do it. I read many reviews & decided on "the maids". The worst decision I ever made. They did show up on time, but that's about all they did. I tried to stay out of their way, so I wasn't watching their every move. But I did see one of them barely wiping out the cabinets with what looked like a paper towel. It definitely wasn't a "damp wipe". Anyway, before they left, I looked around, but obviously not good enough. The cabinet doors still had black fingerprints all around the knobs & the insides hadn't been cleaned at all. In one of the bathrooms, they cleaned only one side of the shower door track. They didn't bother to move them the other way & clean the other side!? I spilled some water on the floor (after they were here) and the towel I used to wipe it up with was almost black! There's no was these floors were "hand-scrubbed", as advertised! I would not recommend this company to anyone. You'll end up doing it yourself in the end .... but with that $$$ still in YOUR pocket, not theirs! read more
