The young people help run the store, learn job skills, and work toward personal and career goals--and it truly shows in the care and pride behind the space. The shop itself is small but mighty. I walked out with four excellent-condition used books (three of which had already been on my TBR list) and somehow also added two cookbooks because... no regrets. Everything was very affordable, and it felt good knowing my purchase was directly supporting youth in the local community. If you're near one of their locations (I believe there's another in the Boston area), I highly recommend stopping in or checking out their online storefront. But soon after my first visit, I realized there was so much more! Not your typical book stores with not your typical books, this collectively run shop is filled with a whole bunch of material (old, new and totally progressive) that would surely fire up some folks of conservative backgrounds. Their meeting space is free to local activist groups for events and gatherings, they benefit greatly from community donations and are a testament to the concepts of empowerment, education and the community's need for discussing and bringing ideas to light.

I managed to find the last Boston University Dad shirt so I was pretty stoked! They have a very large variety of BU gear ranging from t-shirts to wind breakers to sweatshirts. They also offer a variety of dog items like leashes, collars and dog toys. They also sell books, obviously, and tons of school supplies.

That said, the cost of some items can be pretty up there, but I have also found some great affordable gifts and cards here. They also do have a loyalty program that is connected with Barnes and Noble so that's a nice perk if you do decide to frequent here. Service has been super nice and friendly in my experience.
