Had a great couples massage group class today with Liz D! She was informative, a great masseuse and a funny teacher.

If I'm being frank when I first decided that I was going to attend massage school my intentions and…read moreexpectations were misguided. I thought "Oh, this will be easy and I'm just really using it as platform to get into Physical Therapy." I believed in the power of manual therapy, but I didn't truly think it was that technical or transformative. Throughout my time at Discovery Point that all changed. It was definitely not easy for me and I realized that massage school was in a lot of ways harder than when I was in University. The instructors at Discovery Point are truly marvelous and knowledgeable. Without their guidance I would not be the confident and humble therapist I am today. Time and again I find that my grasp of anatomy and my ability to truly feel tissue that I cultivated at Discovery Point has put me ahead of the pack. This school not only prepares you for the field, it shapes you. My life has transformed in many ways from this experience because of these beautiful mentors. My passion for learning has been reignited and I thank all the teachers/faciltators at Discovery point for all that they do.

The teachers are extremely knowledgeable of the many aspects that create the profession of massage therapy. It's not just a school, but a community, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of it. I was completely astonished at how ready I was to enter the workforce after graduating! After only a few months after graduation I realized I was already reaching business goals of mine that I had planned 8-10 years down the line! I'm literally living my dreams. In my opinion, this is THE school to go to if you're serious about a career in massage therapy. And I'm excited to see what other continuing education will be offered in the future! Thank you, Discoverypoint!

I've had two massages at the Magnolia location. Both were from Zoe. And both were amazing. Her…read morestyle relaxes you immediately. At the same time she's doing deep tissue work. After the massages I felt very relaxed, my muscles felt stretched out, and I had an overall feeling of wellbeing. The Magnolia facility is very nicely laid out. The massage room is spacious and comfortable. The overall setting of the facility is very calming. I had been getting massages from a private practitioner for about 10 years. Unfortunately she moved so I've been looking for a really quality massage. I think I've found the therapist and facility.

This is a repost of a review that I wrote last year, with a few edits for updates. The reason for…read morethe repost is that this business has recently changed its name, so I wanted to help by leaving my review under the new business name: I received 4 massages from Joe last year (2021). I felt comfortable around him right away, which helped me to relax. One thing that I definitely noticed is that there was very little chit chat during the first massage. Just a little brief chit chat here and there. I appreciated that not only because Joe wasn't too chatty (he and I did chat a little bit here and there, though, which was nice), but because I have received massage from over 70 massage therapists in the Seattle area over the past 20 years, and there are very few therapists that I feel comfortable enough with during the FIRST session to not feel at all compelled to chat with the therapist quite a bit during my massage. I usually want to know who is massaging me! I get curious about the person!! Haha. I can honestly say I've never received massages quite like the massages that I received from Joe. I enjoyed some interesting stretches, some neck work that felt very needed, and some great mid-to-low-back bodywork. Part of my Deep Lomi Style massage was done with me positioned side-lying - my favorite position in which to receive massage. I had checked in advance with Joe via e-mail about his safety procedures, and they're sound. He was able to leave the window open (at my request) during my massages, and he had an air purifier going also. He wore a mask for the entire duration of the intakes, the massages, and the check-outs. The music was soft, not too loud or intrusive, and it provided a lovely background noise. The lighting was perfect for me, I prefer the lighting to be slightly darker in the massage room since it's more relaxing for me that way. Joe checked in about the level of pressure, and he was very open and responsive to my feedback - which he strongly encouraged me to give - about level of pressure, position of my body and head on the table, preference for bolstering, any areas to avoid or go lightly on, type of oil used, and anything else that made the massage experience truly special. I felt that Joe went above and beyond to make sure that I felt cared for and attended to. Usually when I review a massage therapist here on yelp, I explain that I graduated from Port Townsend School of Massage in 2016 - however, I have never practiced massage professionally, since my life ended up going in a different direction at that time. So, I know a bit more about massage therapy than someone who doesn't have this particular educational background. I enjoyed my massages with Massage Reimagined Magnolia, I would receive massage from Joe again, and I would highly recommend this business to anyone who wants a truly unique and special massage experience.

Massages are great but wow... it's a loud place…read more I just want to say the massages are great here. Without question. And the staff are wonderful. HOWEVER, this is one of the loudest massage facilities I've ever been to. I've been here 3 times now and the last 2 times the room I was in has a sliding door to what I assume is another massage room. This time, while I was getting a massage, I could clearly listen to the conversation going on in the other room and I don't believe those people were being overly loud. There is just NO soundproofing between their walls. In addition, I'm assuming there is a break room or something just around the corner and at one point I could hear a group of people laughing and talking loudly while they were on break or something. So just know that if you like to have a quiet environment while getting your massage, this may not be the place for you.

For the past few years since working from home full-time, I have been prioritizing self-care:…read moreconsistent movement, stretching, chiropractic care, sports therapy, acupuncture, facials, meditation, you name it! Unfortunately around the time I started full-time remote work, my massage spot at the time stopped taking my insurance. It has been challenging finding a provider that takes my insurance AND does not have a long waitlist. Anyways, a few months ago, I slightly pulled my back during our move to the new apt. I decided to try Elements Massage on Holman mainly due to its convenience of being close to home. I was scheduled to see Emily, and have been seeing her since then. What I appreciate about Emily is that she takes the time to educate you on not only the cause of pain and tension, but ways to improve your self-care at home: utilizing ice packs, stretches, salt soaks, etc. Incorporating these in my own routines has made a huge improvement in my post recovery workouts and back/neck tension. At my last session, I was feeling so tired that I told Emily I felt like I will pass out on the table. I let Emily do her magic and she delivered giving me nice, relaxing full-body massage. It was such a great treat, and a testimony, on how much my back/neck tension has improved in few months. I enjoyed it so much that I booked a 90 min session with Emily next month. While you can book single sessions, the membership at Elements is such a great deal. I went with the $99/month for one 60 min session which can carry over, gift to a friend, or you can pay a little extra to extend the time. Honestly, this is one of the best investments you can do for your body and I couldn't be more enthusiastic to recommend Elements Massage.
